🌟 Recognizing August as National Immunization Awareness Month! 🌟 At MedZed, we are proud to recognize August as National Immunization Awareness Month. Immunizations play a critical role in maintaining public health, preventing the spread of contagious diseases, and ensuring better health outcomes for everyone. Staying up to date with vaccinations is not only important for individual health but also for the well-being of our communities. By getting vaccinated, we protect ourselves and those around us, especially the most vulnerable members of our society. Immunization is a vital component of the comprehensive care we provide to our members. When we meet with our members in the field, we strive to help them connect with their Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) to ensure they are up to date on their immunizations. This proactive approach helps prevent illnesses and supports better overall health. Let's use this month to spread awareness about the importance of vaccinations and encourage everyone to stay current with their immunization schedules. Together, we can create healthier communities and brighter futures. #NationalImmunizationAwarenessMonth #StayVaccinated #BetterHealth #MedZed #CommunityCare #HealthAwareness

Did you know? Every year in April, we celebrate World Immunization Week! It's a global reminder of the incredible power of vaccines to protect individuals, families, and entire communities from preventable diseases. Vaccines work by training your body to recognize and fight off germs before they can make you sick. This not only safeguards you, but also helps create a "herd immunity" effect, making it harder for diseases to spread. This World Immunization Week, let's recommit to staying up-to-date on vaccinations for ourselves and our loved ones. It's a simple yet powerful act that ensures a healthier future for all. Infection control officer, AdventHealth | Preparing for emerging infectious threats | Biking & walking advocacy | Healthcare provider education | Addressing health disparities
Halfway through August National Immunization Awareness Month, some sobering trends: routine childhood vaccine rates have dropped; some state authorities have emboldened parents to opt out of important vaccines. Yet, the data remain clear: routine childhood vaccines not only save lives & prevent disease spread, they also save money according to newly CDC-published research. How is that not a win-win-win situation? Our responsibilities as healthcare and public health providers are that we must continue to increase immunization trust with our patients, healthcare workforce, and communities while advocating for policies that keep our kids safe and reduce costs. #immunizations
