I've been doing research on sales statistics in Senior Living to try and continue to support communities increase occupancy. Here are a just a few takeaways: 1. You're > 300% more likely to convert a lead if you reach out to an inbound in under 1 minute of inquiry. #speedtolead 2. It can take about 25 touch points before a prospective resident and/or family makes a decision. ✅ Stay on top of them. Use automation for check ins. Use your CRM and keep it clean to know exactly when to reach out and what to say next ✅ 3. 90% of residents are in the gathering information phase. It can take up to 18 months for them to make a decision. ✅ Staying in front of them and top of mind is crucial for conversion in the future ✅ 4. 70% of senior living and care consumers will call during the consumer journey and 60% of tours are scheduled due to an inbound call #pickupyourphone 5. Continuously work on increasing your online reviews. 71% of consumers would not consider using a business if their reviews are under 3 stars. Why is the "3X pipeline coverage" rule an issue in sales? Glad you asked. Here's my take: 1. It's too simple and doesn't consider how your sales process really works. 2. Even with 3-4X coverage, many teams still don't hit their targets. 3. It makes you focus on getting more leads instead of closing more deals. There are two types of sales teams: Type 1: Wins by "volume." Close rates hover ~20%, leadership always pushes for more pipeline. Type 2: Wins by "rate." They break down their process stage by stage, focusing on areas with the biggest leakage. Let's look at a healthtech company example: Company built $1M quarterly pipeline vs. $250K target. Sounds good, right? But revenue was stuck between Stages 3 & 4. (the demo stage) 40% Stage 3 → 4 rate cut overall win rate to 21%. Result? Only $215K closed from $1M pipeline. Ouch. The solution? Shift to a "Type 2" team: 1. Enable reps to build a sharp point-of-view. 2. Tie exit criteria to revenue ops validation. 3. Craft messaging that taps into priorities. 4. Build a system with scorecards. Result? Win rates jumped to 28% overall. I'm not a math guy but I think thats higher than 20% Less pipe, more revenue. What type of engine are you building? An executive physical is incredibly valuable if the person has time, energy, money, and mental bandwidth to execute it. The worst thing is to have a lot of data that you cannto do anything about. The best thing is to have really accurate, actionable data.

Cold calling, DMing, Emailing are soul crushing. Warm intros, client and friend referrals, hearing from a former colleague = so much better. Here’s the thing: When you produce interesting content sharing what you know, what you love, how you think, big wins, lessons from failure, how you treat people, it magically creates a “warm intro” environment. Folks get to know you before you ever talk business, pricing, scope, job requirements, etc. The RFI and trust building process has already been happening for months or years. And you’ve positioned yourself, company, client, ahead of 95% of LinkedIn users whose feeds are dominated by self serving sales pitches, “I’m thrilled” job announcements, product plugs, and cringy 5:00am morning routine humble brags. Sharing is caring, sharing is building the trust, familiarity, and “warmness” that puts you ahead. Thanks for attending my Sunday TedTalk. 😃
