Shout out to YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids for such a great Saturday of events! Allison Sides and WEST MICHIGAN MIRACLE LEAGUE teaming up for a great day of baseball. Ending the day at YMCA CAMP MANITOU-LIN with fun activities for all. Big thank you to the employee recognition team for hosting such a great event! I had the honor of attending the Vive 25 Michigan Most Influencial Latinos Event last night with some fabulous YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids team members. Representation matters! One of many themes was the value placed on mentorship. Many of these leaders were the FIRST in their families or in a space in our community college graduates, lawyers, doctors, CEO's, business owners, community leaders, the list goes on and on! Now each one can mentor and guide the next generation!

Great way to start Friday on an inspirational note - the Youth in Government Fall Conference at Fruitport High School. So amazed by the students in this program through the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids. And our staff that gives their hearts and souls to our teen leadership programs are incredible.

Thank you to volunteers from Amway who came out to YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin this week. They helped us clear out the underbrush along the path to the Point, stained tables, power washed, cleaned windows, and most excitingly, built us six brand new giant Adirondack chairs that will be placed on the Point for a new small group fire pit area. We love our volunteers and appreciate everything they did!

We are grateful to first lady Jill Biden for visiting YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin a few weeks ago during Camp Corral, a program offering free camp experiences to children of injured, ill and fallen military heroes. During her time at camp, Dr. Biden also highlighted the Administration's program to combat hunger through summer nutrition programs and toured our kitchen to learn more about our work.
