Walgreens is now offering no-cost rapid COVID-19 and flu testing to eligible military veterans throughout this year’s respiratory season as part of our continued efforts with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.   By attaining timely testing, veterans who are symptomatic or were recently exposed to COVID-19 can quickly learn their status and act to minimize the spread of viruses to their loved ones, treat symptoms and begin their journey toward recovery. After initially launching in nine states, Walgreens Virtual Healthcare has expanded to 30 states, offering patients fast, reliable and affordable healthcare. The program eliminates the need to schedule appointments or in-person visits by allowing Walgreens patients to connect with doctors and nurse practitioners via virtual consultations, either through chat or video, for many common health needs, and it now includes new lab services for wellness screenings and STD treatment. As Breast Cancer Awareness Month comes to close, we want to share a story about Walgreens pharmacy technician Lisa Brown, who is currently fighting stage 3 breast cancer.   "You spend a day crying and then you get up," Brown told a local TV station. "Then you put on your big girl pants and go, 'Okay, let's go battle'. So, we go to battle.
