👏Congratulations to US Navy Capt. Rebekah Johnson on receiving the Defense Meritorious Service Medal! As the Public Affairs Individual Mobilization Augmentee to the Public Affairs Director, NORAD & US Northern Command, Capt. Johnson’s public affairs expertise and leadership from March 2021 to April 2024 have been instrumental. Her work supported key missions, including Operation ALLIES WELCOME, Southwest Border operations, and the response to high-profile events such as Russian aircraft intercepts and the tracking and shoot-down of a high-altitude balloon off the U.S. East Coast. Approximately 94% of this cargo is transported via commercial maritime vessels, all of which adhere to U.S. Department of Transportation/Maritime Administration (MARAD) safety regulations.
