On a morning filled with deep breaths and deeper connections at the Los Angeles Chargers training facility, "The Bolt," cancer patients, survivors and caretakers opted into a breathwork session led by Simms/Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology team members Da'Vie G. and Shiori L. Participants practiced mindfulness alongside players Cameron Dicker, Brenden Rice and DJ Chark, after a welcome message from Barbara Jagels, RN, MHA, CPHQ, Executive Director of Cancer Services at UCLA Health. This moment served to empower each individual's well-being and provide support throughout their journey. 💙 💛 Thank you Wallis Annenberg PetSpace for bringing puppy love. Children in immigrant and refugee families often have unmet healthcare needs due to language, cultural, and access challenges. Pediatric physicians and assistant professors at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Dr. Lisa Gantz and Dr. Sural Shah, are working to address the need through broadened education for pediatricians. A study they published in Academic Pediatrics proposes methods for incorporating education into pediatric residency programs that will better address immigrant and refugee health. Learn more about their proposal and how UCLA Health is helping to train the next generation of pediatricians: https://ucla.in/4eC8tU6
