Where Opportunity Takes Root
About us
The Walton Family Foundation is, at its core, a family-led foundation. Three generations of the descendants of our founders, Sam and Helen Walton, and their spouses, work together to lead the foundation and create access to opportunity for people and communities. We work in three areas: improving K-12 education, protecting rivers and oceans and the communities they support, and investing in our home region of Northwest Arkansas and the Arkansas-Mississippi Delta. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 We are committed to embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organization to foster an environment where all associates THRIVE and belong. We do this by creating: • a culture committed to continuous learning that recognizes and values differences • an environment of respect and connection to learn from the richness of identities, experiences, and perspectives • fair access for all to opportunities for growth and advancement

How can corporations help make a meaningful impact on the future of water conservation? Arizona's Verde River is showing the way! Bold solutions for complex issues! Proud to be a partner in this innovative work to tackle the complex effects of climate change. Protecting forest and wetland habitats helps support healthy wildlife, land, air and water. 💚
Some conservation news to sing about 🐦🎵 NFWF announced nearly $2.5 million in grants to restore, enhance and protect ecologically important forest and wetland habitats in the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley. Four new bottomland hardwood forest, wetland and aquatic habitat restoration grants will benefit populations of forest dwellers such as the Louisiana black bear, forest birds and waterfowl, among other important native species. These grants would not be possible without the generous support of USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), International Paper’s Forestland Stewards Partnership and the Walton Family Foundation. https://loom.ly/De4sHcw 📷: Northern parula #conservation #environment #grants #mississippi #wildlife

Hear from Ronak about how a classroom experiment catalyzed one of his students to pursue medicine after high school. #Education #QualityEd #HandsOnLearning #EdChat

As students return to school, it is essential for educators, researchers and innovators to consider what today’s young people view as most important to their success and sense of achievement. For the second year in a row, the Walton Family Foundation teamed up with Gallup to release the 2024 Annual Gen Z Report, one of the largest and most comprehensive national research panels to better support those ages 12-27. When students are engaged in school, they have a more positive outlook on their future and life satisfaction. By shaping an education system responsive to Gen Z’s needs and aspirations, we can play a bigger role in helping them lead successful and happy lives.
