This #AnimalCloseup showcases a creature whose hair grows opposite of other mammals! 🌿 This animal's hair parts on its stomach and points toward its back. This peak of hair is called the drip tip, making it easier for water to run off its body since it rains a lot where they are from. 🌧️ Any guesses as to who it could be?

We have "otterly" exciting news! 🦦🥳 We are now part of the Otters for Waters program with the River Otter Ecology Project, an organization that aims to inspire action to protect the vital habitats of the North American river otter, a charismatic ambassador for healthy aquatic ecosystems. It's Penguin Awareness Day! ❄️🐧 Today is a special day dedicated to raising awareness about penguins, and it’s one of our favorite days of the year! Here are some fun facts about the 22 gentoo penguins we have here at the Aquarium: 🏃♀️Gentoo penguins are the fastest swimming penguins, with top speeds of 22 miles per hour 🦵Penguin knees sit at an angle, so they are always squatting 💪Gentoos are the third largest penguin species 📏On average, an adult weighs 12 pounds and is 30 inches tall 🐟An adult gentoo will dive up to 450 times a day to find food and has been recorded holding its breath for up to seven minutes
