We want to extend a special thank you to our friends with JCK Restaurants who raised more than $20,000 for St. Vincent de Paul's Veteran Services programs! Last year we were able to re-house more than 500 veterans in Lane County thanks to support from community partners like these and donations from generous community members like you! #veteransday #veteranprograms #veteranservices #svdp #stvincentdepaul

SERVING OUR COMMUNITY: Retail, Recycling & Manufacturing / Property Management / Homelessness & Emergency Services
About us
The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County, Inc. was established in 1954 and is the largest nonprofit human services organization in Lane County, Oregon. Our mission is to "assist the poor and those in need of consolation, seeking out and utilizing every resource. Being mindful of the sanctity and dignity of all, any charitable work that advances those goals is within the mission of St. Vincent de Paul." We are committed to providing comprehensive programs to alleviate poverty and help all individuals find a path out of poverty and into self-sufficiency. Our main programmatic focuses are: Affordable housing: more than 1,500 units have been developed since 1988 and expanded to eight mobile home park restoration and management across Lane and Multnomah counties. Emergency services: includes food boxes, vouchers to our retail thrift stores, rent and utilities assistance, and various supply drives throughout the year. Homeless services: Single adults, youth, and families have access to restrooms, showers, laundry and access to overnight shelters with resources aiding in finding permanent housing. We also have a specific program for Veterans and their families that provide opportunities for transition after drug/addiction treatment and housing support. Recycle programs: in 2019, SVDP recycled more than 37 million pounds of material that would have crowded landfills. Retail Thrift Stores: our waste-based enterprises like our thrift stores, used car lot, and online book sales fund our life-stabilizing programs and allows us to serve more vulnerable members of our community. All of these programs just scratch the surface of SVDP's commitment to ending the cycle of homelessness. Your support and advocacy ensures a stronger neighborhood, community, and world.

HOPE UPDATE 11/16/24: The HOPE Community Corporation factory has officially received full HUD certification. What does this mean? It means more rapid production of manufactured homes in the factory because we will no longer required to have daily inspector visits to monitor each step of the process. Currently, HOPE has two completed single-wide "Sunstone" models sitting on the factory floor with three more in development. Many people have asked where these homes are going and who can purchase a unit. We'd like to provide a little more information on that now! Where are these new units going? The two completed units were purchased by St. Vincent de Paul, as an affordable housing provider, St. Vincent de Paul qualifies as an agency purchaser. The two units will be delivered to SVdP managed mobile home parks in Oregon. Other housing authority approved not-for-profit housing development corporations also qualify. How do individuals qualify to buy? These homes will be available for public individual purchase by qualified individuals. The qualifying factor being if you your family are at or below 80% the median area income where the unit will be placed. You can also qualify if you or your family were displaced by wildfires or other national disasters in the state of Oregon at any income level. What are the advantages of purchasing a HOPE home versus another manufactured home? HOPE Community homes are made to extremely high environmental standards and are built to be fire resistant. This means that they qualify for special energy rebates. Even more rebates are available if you are placing the HOPE home on your own land. You can learn more about HOPE Community Corporation and when you can buy a unit by going to their website: https://lnkd.in/gGX4zRtv #hopehomes #hopeonthehorizon #svdp #stvincentdepaul #nonprofithousing #affordablehousing

On November 1, St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County (SVdP) is kicking off an annual holiday food drive to benefit local families and individuals in need. The nonprofit is asking St. Vinnies shoppers and community members for support in the form of monetary and in-kind donations. To contribute, please drop off holiday-themed non-perishables at any SVdP store or donate while you thrift shop with St. Vinnies. SVdP has been distributing food boxes during the holiday season since the 1950s in partnership with volunteers from faith communities. This year, SVdP reflects on the legacy of Betty Snowden, the longstanding organizer of past holiday food drives. Snowden led the distribution of thousands of food boxes to ensure families wouldn’t go hungry over the holidays. #foodboxes #holidayfooddrive #svdp #nonprofit #stvincentdepaul https://lnkd.in/gY5HxtND

A shout out to one of our rockstar volunteers Anita Danielson who has been supporting the community engagement team for the past couple of months! Anita always shows up to the St. Vincent de Paul office with a smile and a willingness to get things done. Today Anita helped out by stickering more than 250 donated water bottles with the St. Vincent de Paul logo! These double insulated water bottles will be distributed out to our stores, staff, volunteers, and clients. Anita has been involved with St. Vincent de Paul for more than two decades and in 2003 helped us replace the roof our West 11th store by giving a substantial donation. She loves the agency and has been committed to giving back in any way that she can. #volunteerhighlight #nonprofitvolunteer #svdp #nonprofit #stvincentdepaul

Bill Barnard, the Technology and Security Director for St. Vincent de Paul Lane County had the opportunity to attend the UniFi World Conference this past weekend. Bill's attendance was in an effort to continue our relationship and provide feedback with Ubiquiti which provides many of the products SVdP employs at our various sites and facilities. Behind the scenes Bill and his team work incredibly hard to stay current on technology and security products which allow SVdP to better serve our clients and protect our various sites and properties from theft and vandalism. "I was invited for a small meeting with the leadership team to showcase in house creations using their products for missions other than they were designed for. All in all, an incredible learning experience with a trusted technology partner!"-Bill Barnard. #developmentconference #securityandtechnology #svdp #nonprofit #it

This holiday season St. Vincent de Paul of Lane County (SVdP) is calling on the community for donations in support of the Season of Joy 2024 fundraiser. Season of Joy is an opportunity for community members to get into the spirit of giving by offering a monetary donation toward the purchase of essential items and gift cards for an often-overlooked population around the holiday season. In times when being on fixed income leaves many senior residents having to choose between buying household needs or presents for their grandchildren, the Season of Joy program lifts that burden. #communityengagement #svdp #holidaydonationdrive #seasonofjoy2024 #stvincentdepaul #residentservices https://lnkd.in/gHsvytSX
