Join Drs. Wagner & Neeta Somaiah online Friday, October 11 for a Seminars & Tumor Board event on dedifferentiated #liposarcoma (DDLPS)! These aggressive tumors are associated with a poor prognosis; however, an emerging understanding of murine-double minute 2 (MDM2) amplification on disease pathogenesis has led to novel targeted strategies. Hear cases from the panelists’ own practice that have been designed to mimic Tumor Board discussions and decision-making and highlight the key roles of medical oncologists and other essential interprofessional team members involved in the care of DDLPS when integrating emerging targeted strategies. About us
SARC is a U.S.-based 501 (c)(3) non-profit cancer research organization dedicated to the development and support of research for the prevention, treatment, and cure of sarcoma – a cancer of the bone and connective tissues of the body. SARC was founded by a small group of physicians specializing in sarcoma. Recognizing the value of pooling their intellectual and patient resources, a core group of medical and pediatric sarcoma experts at five major medical facilities formed SARC in 2003 to conduct innovative and rigorous sarcoma research to advance the care of their patients. Today, the leadership of SARC consists of respected sarcoma physicians across the country, working together to develop new strategies to improve the outcomes for sarcoma patients. The sarcoma field is small, and the need for fostered collaborations is critical. We can help improve patient outcomes and ultimately achieve a cure with your support. SARC is honored to sponsor the SARC032 trial and extends special thanks to our partners Stand Up To Cancer, Merck, Dr. David Kirsch and many more. We are thrilled about this significant research advancement. #SarcomaAwarenessMonth
Soft-tissue sarcomas are very aggressive cancers of the muscles, fat, and connective tissues. With little progress for decades, a breakthrough is game-changing. This #SarcomaAwarenessMonth, we are highlighting a clinical trial funded by #StandUpToCancer, which showed very promising results when treating patients with this disease using immunotherapy alongside radiation and surgery. This breakthrough reduces the risk of cancer relapse by an amazing 43% – for two of the most common types of soft tissue sarcoma in adults, two years after treatment. Thank you to Merck, our Scientific Partner American Association for Cancer Research, and trial sponsor SARC-Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration for their support of this clinical trial!
