Thank you, YWCA of Northwest Indiana, for a wonderful evening at the Circle of Friends Gala at the Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana last week. We value the important programs and services the YWCA team provides for women of all ages in the community. It was a joy to see former YWCA of NWI Board President Cynthia Powers be recognized during the event with the first-ever Earline Rogers Trailblazer Award. CONGRATULATIONS, CYNTHIA! Rogers, the late former Indiana Senator, YWCA board member emerita, and long-time Gary, Indiana school teacher, was a trailblazer and role model for women throughout the state. The community stalwart represented her district for over 30 years in the Indiana House of Representatives and State Senate. As a community advocate and civic leader, Cynthia shares the same passions as Rogers had during her lifetime.
