During Bone and Joint Health Action Week, we want to bring attention to #sarcomas. The three most common primary cancers of bones and joints are osteosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, and chondrosarcoma. The American Cancer Society offers many resources for patients to learn about early detection, diagnosis, and more: https://lnkd.in/ghCtvV2S #BoneAndJointHealthActionWeek #Osteosarcoma #EwingSarcoma #Chondrosarcoma

We are pleased to report that our team has weathered Hurricane Milton. Our team’s coordination has ensured minimal impact to patients and to our business. Ahead of the storm’s arrival, we enacted our Business Continuity Plan and closed our Fort Myers lab Tuesday afternoon. All specimens were rerouted to our Aliso Viejo lab. After a full assessment this morning, we have determined there is no damage to our Fort Myers lab, and we will reopen tomorrow, October 11th. Our analysis lab in Tampa is without power, and employees have been instructed to work from home until power is restored. To care for our team that may have been impacted, we have set up shower and laundry stations on-site at headquarters. Our cafeteria is preparing hot meals for teammates and their families. We are committed to providing the resources necessary for getting back to normal.

NeoGenomics response to Hurricane Milton Hurricane Milton, classified as a Category 5 storm, is expected to land in our region within 48 hours. With sustained winds of up to 160 mph and a trajectory projected to affect our Fort Myers and Tampa locations directly, we are taking precautionary measures and activated our hurricane emergency response plan to ensure our team's and facilities' safety. All clinical lab samples will be redirected to our Aliso Viejo, California, laboratory through Thursday. Some courier routes in Florida may not operate due to evacuation orders, safety issues, and flooding. We anticipate minimal impact on turnaround time during these precautionary measures. We are closely monitoring the situation and will update as needed. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our Client Service team at 866.776.5907, option 3.

A new episode of the Precision Medicine Podcast is available to stream! "Biomarker Testing Legislation Update" explores disparities in access to precision medicine and how the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is actively working to close the gap by passing legislation to expand insurance coverage of evidence-based biomarker testing for cancer patients in the U.S. Hilary Gee Goeckner, MSW (Director of State and Local Campaigns for ACS CAN) and Kristine Ashcraft (Founder of YouScript and member of ACS CAN task force) discuss different types of #oncology tests, challenges surrounding patient accessibility, and the importance of ACS CAN's initiative: https://lnkd.in/gMJnVzaq Trapelo #PrecisionMedicinePodcast #BiomarkerTesting #CancerDisparities
