Empowering Communities, Ending Homelessness
About us
The Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness (MCAH) is a nonprofit membership organization formed in 1990 as an association of emergency shelters, transitional housing programs, nonprofit housing and service programs, government programs, and concerned citizens from across the state. MCAH empowers over 600 Michigan homeless service agencies through public awareness activities, advocacy at the state and federal level, and support services that bring in national expertise and best practices. Our understanding of homelessness is driven by extensive and varied experience in the field and on-going primary and secondary research and analysis. Together, we can prevent and end homelessness in Michigan.

MCAH Gets Out The Vote (And So Should You)! | TWO WEEKS UNTIL THE ELECTION Why Housing Providers Should Get Involved In Voter Outreach? Voting is a racial justice issue: Registering and educating people experiencing homelessness about voting and the voting process is a way to reduce this racial disparity. A vote is a vote: people experiencing homelessness’ voices matter as equally as everyone else’s at the polls. Providers can engage in voter registration and get out the vote efforts, but this must be done in a non-partisan way and you must assist everyone equally. Contact our Our Homes, Our Votes Coordinator Ashley Heidenrich for more information on how YOUR agency can help! [email protected]
