I’m in agreement that it’s time for a significant overhaul of our education system but my rationale and action steps aren’t quite the same as this article. What do you think? Time for change? What’s your why and what are the levers for change?

MASSP is hiring an Event Coordinator to support all the great professional development we provide for school & student leaders! This is a Lansing based position that does require travel within the state for events. If you know someone with a two or four year degree in hospitality management send them our way!

Sad fact: Most school districts budget little to no money on professional development for their building leaders. These are the people charged with leading their schools forward! I feel very fortunate to have accompanied MASSP’s Executive Board Members to Nashville for the National Conference for School Leaders. We had the incredible opportunity to learn from world-class keynotes and breakout presentations and network with colleagues from across the U.S. Beyond the enriching professional experience, we also enjoyed some great moments together in the evenings. Investing in our leaders is crucial for the progress and success of our schools, and I’m proud to be part of an organization that values and prioritizes this development.
