AI is reshaping the workplace, but the human touch remains irreplaceable in fostering inclusive and communicative environments. Join us with Deloitte in the #EqualityLounge at Workday Rising to explore the delicate balance between leveraging technology to promote efficiency and maintaining the empathy and nuance that only humans can provide. Let’s discuss how to wisely use cutting-edge tools that can mitigate bias, enhance communication, and create more equitable workplaces. RSVP: https://lnkd.in/gAQzvQFK

Say it with us: Work. Life. Balance. Australia is leading by example, passing legislation for workers’ “Right to Disconnect,” i.e do not call, do not email, do not Slack during non-work hours. ❌ In some ways, the law acts as an extension of the obligations businesses already have to ensure the psychosocial safety of their workers and their right to unplug. Similar “disconnection” rights already exist in Spain and France. Portugal, Belgium, and Kenya are all proposing similar bills to respect employees’ lives outside of work. The US, which ranks 53rd in the world for work-life balance, could learn a thing or two from the land of oz. Like if you think this should be the standard. 👀

Parenting is hard. Not breaking news. But now, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy has issued a warning that it’s so difficult for American parents that it’s a public health concern, reaching crisis levels. Parents’ health and well-being are really taking a hit. It’s loneliness. It’s money. It’s the stress that comes with managing a family. Improving the well-being of parents is, again, unsurprisingly, critical for the well-being of children. So we have to find some viable solutions. Things like: ➡️ Paid family and medical leave for all ➡️ Improvements in healthcare, education, and other institutions could increase the well-being of entire family units ➡️ Affordable #childcare ❗️ Any parent could tell you, “Yes, parenting is hard. That’s a no-brainer,” but acknowledging it on this level is a major update and one that could empower systems to help alleviate the stressors and mental burden.

Bullseye! Sheetal Devi is the only woman without arms competing in archery at the #Paralympics. Can you believe at just 17-years-old, this champion only picked up archery 3 years ago?! From novice to triple medalist at the Asian Para Games to the Paris Paralympics her meteoric rise is truly inspiring🥇 Her journey to reaching para-athlete status began in the years she spent climbing trees as a pastime in her native country. This activity strengthened her upper body, improved her athleticism, and made scouts take notice of her talent in archery during a local event organized by the Indian Army in 2021. 🇮🇳🏆

Competing in archery while 7 months pregnant, Grinham recalls asking her baby to stop kicking so she could concentrate on lining up the shot. 💗 “I didn’t want people to see it as, ‘Oh, there’s a pregnant lady going to a Games,’" Jodie shared. “I want them to say, ‘Wow, a pregnant lady can compete at the highest level and medal,’ showing you anything is possible. Just go and do it. You want to do it? Then do it.” Congratulations to Jodie Grinham 👏
