At the Wednesday, October 9, 2024, City Council meeting, Councilman Griff Chalfant presented the City of Marietta's Code Enforcement Department with a Proclamation designating October as Code Compliance Month in Marietta. We would like to recognize the many valuable contributions made by the professional Code Enforcement Officers of the City of Marietta and extend our heartfelt thanks for the continued commitment to public service by these professionals.

MARIETTA POWER MUTUAL AID UPDATE: On September 28, 2024, Marietta Power deployed 16 staff members to Sandersville, GA, to aid in power restoration following Hurricane Helene. After a few days of hard work, the team moved to Douglas, GA, to continue their efforts. By October 9, six of the original crew returned home, while seven new linemen joined the remaining team in Douglas. On October 10, the Marietta Power crew was then sent to Orlando, FL, to assist with power restoration after Hurricane Milton. As of October 12, the dedicated team of 17 was released from Orlando and returned to South Georgia to support Satilla REMC in resolving remaining outages from Hurricane Helene. Today, October 13, they are actively working in Coffee County to restore power to those who have been without since September 28. The City of Marietta is incredibly proud of the Marietta Power staff for their hard work and commitment over the past two weeks. A heartfelt "THANK YOU" also goes out to the families of these dedicated individuals for their sacrifices and support during this time.

City of Marietta Economic Development staff had the pleasure of hosting engineering firms throughout the city at the most recent “Business Talks.” At these talks, businesses from a specific industry, come together, in an informal setting to ask questions, exchange ideas, provide feedback, and build relationships.
