Our CEO and Founder, Tynesa Boyea-Robinson, sat down with Freakonomics to discuss the journey of the Rooney Rule from the NFL to corporate boardrooms. In this episode, Ty shares insights on the progress made, the setbacks faced, and the controversy surrounding efforts to increase diversity in leadership. It’s a powerful reflection on the ongoing fight for equity and inclusion in the corporate world. Last week, The Wall Street Journal highlighted a narrative that can undermine the importance of #DEI initiatives. But supporting Black-led businesses is not just about fairness, it’s about unleashing untapped economic potential. Women-owned businesses grow 1.5x faster than the national average, yet receive only 2% of venture capital funding. Black entrepreneurs lead in new business formation, yet face higher loan rejections and less access to VC. Imagine the economic impact if we level the playing field. Research from McKinsey & Company, Harvard Business Review, and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) consistently shows that diverse teams and companies outperform their peers. This is not just a moral imperative—it’s a competitive edge. Thank you Ruth Simon and WSJ for listening to my perspective. The challenges against DEI are designed to create fear and slow progress, but leadership requires courage. We cannot let intimidation halt the momentum. Following the example of the Fearless Fund, I remain committed to advancing equity and economic opportunity for all—no exceptions. What will your strategy be to support diverse businesses and ensure an inclusive economy? #Leadership #InclusiveEconomy #WomenInBusiness #InvestInBlack #EconomicOpportunity

A few years ago, many argued that focusing on "benefits for all" wouldn't lead to true equity—especially for the most marginalized communities, like people of color. The debate between "All Lives Matter" and "Black Lives Matter" illustrated this tension. But now, we see a shift. The equity movement is reclaiming the word “all” to include everyone. It’s no longer about pacifying voices—it’s about holding systems accountable for real inclusion. We’re not building the master’s house; we’re building a house for all of us. And to do that, we’ll need every tool we can find—some new, some reimagined, but all geared toward true equity. Our CEO, Tynesia Boyea-Robinson shared more on equity for all at the Freedom Economy panel during PolicyLinke’s conference last month. Interested in learning more? Latino entrepreneurs are driving innovation and growth, with Latino-owned businesses increasing by 34% over the past decade. 🌱 But within this thriving community, not all voices are equally represented. Afro-Latinos, who make up over 6 million adults in the U.S., continue to face systemic barriers, limiting their access to resources and opportunities. At CapEQ, equity for all means ensuring every voice in the Latino community is heard and supported. That’s why we’re committed to highlighting these disparities to drive meaningful change. 💡 It’s time to elevate Afro-Latino voices and create an inclusive future for all. How do you think we can bridge this gap? Let’s talk! 👇🏽 * * * * * #LatinoEntrepreneurs #AfroLatinoVoices #EquityForAll #HispanicHeritageMonth #CommunityBuilding #CapEQ

Last month, CapEQ launched a first-of-its-kind Civil Rights Standards with our partners PolicyLink The Standards set a roadmap for how businesses should conduct a civil rights audit with clear performance criteria and guidance across nine key areas of an audit: 1) Comprehensive Scope; 2) Independent, Qualified Auditor; 3) Meaningful Engagement with Key Stakeholders; 4) Access to Critical Information; 5) Rigor and Objectivity; 6) Transparency; 7) Timeliness; 8) Regular Frequency; and 9) Board Oversight and Accountability. High-quality public education is a key pathway to the American Dream. Lawmakers should support teachers in carrying out their fundamental duty: educating our children. Attempts to censor and restrict what is taught and learned in our nation's classrooms hurt efforts to give all children the best education possible.
