Earlier this week, Broadlawns Medical Center hosted a successful Skills Nursing Fair! This event not only allowed our clinical staff to stay current with their certifications but also introduced them to the innovative Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) program from the American Heart Association. Our team had the opportunity to engage in interactive simulation stations and online modules, gaining firsthand experience on how RQI will enhance their CPR and emergency response skills, replacing traditional BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Celebrating A Major Milestone! Last week, we proudly marked a groundbreaking achievement—Dr. Wittmer’s 100th robotic bronchoscopy at Broadlawns Medical Center! This milestone highlights our commitment to advancing lung cancer diagnostics. By integrating cutting-edge mobile cone beam CT scanning with robotic technology, we’re setting ourselves apart from most programs in the state and across the country. In fact, only 20% of robotic programs offer this advanced imaging, allowing us to target even the smallest lesions with unparalleled accuracy. Thanks to intraoperative cone-beam CT imaging, we can biopsy the smallest nodules, delivering earlier and more accurate diagnoses. And we all know that earlier detection means better outcomes for our patients fighting lung cancer.
