Florida is no stranger to natural disasters, and in May 2024, Leon County Government was struck by three tornadoes, including two F2s and one F1. In response, the county declared a state of emergency and launched the TEAM Leon Program (Targeted Emergency Assistance Microgrants) to provide immediate financial aid to those affected. As an Avaya customer, Leon County established a contact center to manage inquiries for the new program. Using the Avaya Experience Platform™ (AXP), they swiftly built a center capable of handling the influx of inquiries and applications. AXP supported countless individuals and businesses affected by the tornadoes in just six days.
