A new residential tower at Centennial Yards, the mini-city being built within downtown Atlanta’s Gulch, will not feature any apartments set aside at rents affordable to lower income residents — and the developer will instead pay a fee to the city of nearly $8.5 million. Centennial Yards Company, a subsidiary of Los Angeles-based developer CIM Group, opted to pay Atlanta an “in-lieu fee” rather than reserve any apartments at rents below market rate at its 19-story, 304-unit tower called the Mitchell. The high-rise, which is expected to open next year, is the first new tower erected as part of the $5 billion redevelopment of the Gulch, a 50-acre expanse of parking lots and rail lines between the Five Points MARTA Station and Mercedes-Benz Stadium. But ABC affiliate News 5 Cleveland observed about a dozen cars at Sinito’s home and saw agents carrying out boxes. The Millennia Companies’ lawyer, Marisa T. Some people go all out for Halloween. Ash Parker is one of those folks. While Halloween costumes might be expected in other jobs, like an elementary school teacher dressed up as a minion, for example, it’s not common to see a real estate broker walking down Peachtree Street dressed as Forrest Gump in his running era. When a hurricane looms, it's crucial to get forecasts as early and precisely as possible. Lockheed Martin in Marietta has been tapped to build a more advanced version of “hurricane hunter” aircraft that can improve research for forecasts to help save lives. The NOAA: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration is ordering two C-130J Super Hercules aircraft that will be specially-equipped as hurricane hunters to fly straight into storms with specialized instruments to gather data. “The research from hurricane hunter aircraft “gives us the ability to understand how these storms form, how they develop, and the impact that they have on communities,” said U.S. Deputy Commerce Secretary Don Graves, who toured the Lockheed Martin plant in Marietta after the contract award.
