More on KentOnline
For most people, a household pet becomes more than just an animal – they become family.
Here, we’ve profiled 20 of Last Chance Animal Rescues’ adorable pooches in Kent who are desperate to find their forever homes…
Bonnie and Rosie, three, dachshunds
Bonnie and Rosie are a sweet pair of sausage dogs who are looking for a forever home together.
They only came to the rescue recently through no fault of their own.
They have previously lived with children and are good with other dogs on lead.
Willow, three, beagle
Willow is a very sweet girl who was recently returned to the rescue.
She originally came from a Welsh pound so will not be able to live with children as Last Chance has no history on her.
She is looking for a very active home with no cats.
Angel, three, saluki cross
Three-year-old Angel was found tied to a tree on Boxing Day and was initially very nervous about people when she first came to the rescue.
But now, she loves everyone she meets and the attention they give her.
Angel suffers from separation anxiety so she will need a patient and understanding owner who is home most of the time.
She can also find children overwhelming so would prefer a quiet home.
She loves treats, going on walks, and is very responsive to training so picks things up quite quickly.
Cleo, nine, husky
Cleo came into the rescue as her previous owners did not have enough time for her.
She is a typical husky who loves to be outside no matter what the weather is like.
She is finding kennel life hard but is slowly adjusting and loves to play with toys.
Cleo can be reactive to other dogs so the rescue is advising that she be walked with a muzzle.
She is looking for a pet-free and adult-only home with an understanding owner who has some experience with the breed.
Coco Pop, Museli, Weetabix, Sugar Puff, Rice Krispy and Cornflake, six weeks, Jack Russell Terrier and Cocker Spaniel mix
These six puppies are currently in a foster home with their mum and are six weeks old.
They will need active families who will be able to give them lots of training, socialising, and exercise.
They will also each need to attend training classes and are looking for owners who are home most of the time.
Coco Pop and Rice Krispy are males and Museli, Weetabix, Sugar Puff and Cornflake are females.
Milo, one, Jack Russell Terrier
Milo is a very cautious Jack Russell Terrier who is looking for a very patient owner.
He is very affectionate once he builds up trust with a person and can be protective of certain people.
He would benefit from having his own space to settle in and an owner who will respect his boundaries.
His new home will need to be adult-only with no other pets or visiting children.
Bruce, two, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and collie mix
Bruce is a very lively dog who is looking for an active home.
He will be able to live with other dogs and teenagers, but no younger children.
He will also need some further training so his new owners will need to spend a lot of time with him.
Rocco, one, Parson Russell Terrier
Rocco is a young dog who acts like a typical puppy and loves playing with his toys.
He is finding kennel life scary so can take some time to warm up to people.
Rocco is looking for an adult-only home and an owner who has had his breed in the past.
He will also need lots of exercise and an owner who has time and patience for him as he can be a little snappy if feeling threatened or scared.
Oska, nine, Patterdale Terrier and Cocker Spaniel mix and Albie, ten, Patterdale Terrier and schnauzer mix
Oska and Albie have been together their whole lives so are looking to be rehomed as a pair.
Oska loves people and attention however Albie can be a bit more nervous, particularly around men.
They will both need a lot of training before being let off the lead as they love to chase and have poor recall.
They can both be very loving once given the time to settle, however Albie does not like his feet being touched so will need a patient owner.
They will need to be the only pets in an adult-only home.
Wicky Whacker, two, greyhound
Wicky Wacker is a lovely ex-racing greyhound who is looking for his forever retirement home.
His new home will need to have a very secure garden as he can jump around 6ft high.
He also loves playing with his toys, especially his squeaky ones.
He is good with other dogs but will need to be muzzled around small furries due to his high prey drive.
Violet, three, lurcher
Violet is a sweet three-year-old lurcher who recently came into the care of the rescue.
She is very calm and gentle so will be able to live in a home with other dogs and older children.
Jade, ten months, labrador crossbreed
Jade is a young labrador crossbreed who has lots of energy and is looking for her forever home.
She is very sweet and will need some training as she can sometimes get over-excited and jump up a lot.
She is looking for a home with no young children and owners who are very active.
Toad, six to eight months, Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Toad is an adorable staffie who loves being cuddled.
He came from a Welsh pound so will need lots of love and time from his new family.
He is looking for an owner who will be home all the time and he would be able to live with other dogs.
