CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Charlie checks a lot of boxes. Up for an adventure - check. Good with kids - check. Picks up on cues and commands quickly - check. Staff members at Last Hope Animal Rescue say Charlie is the total package.

This six to seven-year-old is possibly a lab/shepherd mix, and he wants to be the only pet in the home. Charlie came to LHAR with a torn ACL and Lyme disease.

He’s gone through treatment for Lyme disease, and surgery and recovery on his leg are also complete. Now that Charlie is feeling better, he’s ready to get out and explore with his new family. Click HERE for the adoption application.

Don’t let this grumpy face fool you. Staff members at the Cedar Bend Humane Society say Emily is a big love bug.

This two-year-old has been waiting to be adopted for more than eight months. Her sister just got adopted, so shelter staff hope Emily isn’t far behind.

Emily has an independent side, but she enjoys receiving affection, including getting brushed. She’s curious with a playful side once she’s comfortable.

Emily enjoys the company of other felines, and should fit in well in nearly any home. Click HERE for the adoption application.
