Sacramento police said they detained a man who had barricaded himself in a big rig Saturday afternoon. Richards Boulevard was closed between Sequoia Pacific Boulevard and North 7th Street in the Southern Pacific/Richards area. Police said the man was armed with a metal pole and sitting in the front of the vehicle.The man is wanted in connection with the burglary of a nearby business, police said. Officers deployed pepper ball rounds into the truck, but it still took a while before the man was detained.Details on when the standoff happened were not released.This is a developing story. Sacramento police said they detained a man who had barricaded himself in a big rig Saturday afternoon.

Richards Boulevard was closed between Sequoia Pacific Boulevard and North 7th Street in the Southern Pacific/Richards area. Police said the man was armed with a metal pole and sitting in the front of the vehicle.
