Same story line with homage to the past. A little twist that you could see coming a mile away. While all the actors play their parts as well as they could, there was no build up to care at all about any of the characters. The credibility factor was very low all around.

The spectacle was impressive optics but that's about it. The ending is what you'd expect and is anticlimactic. This feels like the sequel that nobody needed and nobody asked for that is performed professionally, competently, but without much gravitas.

If you've got time to spare and want to sit through a Hollywood blockbuster film, it's adequate. But don't expect anything special or worth seeing again.

It takes a lot for me to pan a Kate Beckinsale film but her last several have not been good. As much as I didn't care for the remake of Total Recall that didn't need to be redone, it was miles better than the limp Jolt. Since then it has been more of the same. Now we've got the director of Taken providing a script that is dead on arrival and, unfortunately, a film where every visual looks fake and staged.

Without ruining the film for you, here's a legendary, spectacular plot fail. Beckinsale's home is torn apart by the villains. She meets up with her contact later who tells her that everything is normal. Records show activity elsewhere that support that she is full of crap. She argues "of course they would make it appear as that." Agreed. But yet two minutes later that entire charade is blown apart by a villanous attack. There goes the whole setup without any logic or reason. If you want to say because everyone thought she had what they wanted, then there was still zero reason to go through all that trouble making it look like Beckinsale was lying. Who wrote this garbage?

The actors are fine. But none of the fighting is believable, as the sexy woman just toys and throws the men around with minimal difficulty. The only way this works is if you get a bona fide martial artist to show off more moves rather than way too clever camera angles.

As usual, Scott Adkins is as good as it gets. But when you have a terrible script, two likable actors in the lead are wasted in silly, inane, predictable style. He is 10 times the actor and the martial artist that jvcd ever was. But for reasons I cannot explain, he gets stuck in b minus movies like these. Most of the movie takes place at the penthouse of a hotel room where they duck behind a sofa for cover,. Yes a sofa which has bullet holes through it as if a sniper couldn't just pepper it and kill everyone and end the movie.

Accident man is one of Atkins best including avengement. Stick with those, skip this..
