The Acolyte (2024)
Goodbye Star Wars, goodbye Disney.
This is awful. There absolutely is no talent involved with Star Wars projects produced by Disney. The destruction of the Star Wars legacy continues with yet another sub standard written prequel. As a star wars fan I can't get behind this one. The writing is weak, the plot is predictable. Its like a poorly made fan film made by people with a surface level understanding of Star Wars. This show was given every opportunity to be good. Star Wars in an earlier era, 180 million dollars, and plenty of time to make it. It is really sad to see what Disney has done to Star Wars. Goodbye Star Wars, goodbye Disney.
Who Are You, Charlie Brown? (2021)
Could have been great but got ruined
This documentary about charlie brown and his maker start out great. Then after the first 10min you start slowly to see where this is heading. Is it really impossible to honor anything from another time, without dragging in the lgbtq and feminist with their agenda?... dont waste your time watching this, stick to the old comics and catroon films. If anything get remaked avoid it as the pest.
The Mystery of Al Capone's Vaults (1986)
Good as a documentary but not much else
This show was the embarrassment of Geraldo's career back in the day. But looking back at it today, the documentary side of the show is excellent. Geraldo's visited many places/buildings that is long gone, and were able to interview many people who lived in the Capone era, who were still alive in 1986. Its a good watch if you want to hear about the old mobsters back in 1920 Chicago, told by people that lived the era, even if the vault findings is a let down.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Space Balls had more respect for Star Wars than Disney
This new Star Wars trilogy is a tragedy, and the plot makes no sense in TROS, it just wasn't built up at all from the previous movies and is completely disconnected. And this new trilogy (specially TLJ and TROS) totally nullify everything story wise before it. To put it short Space Balls had more respect for Star Wars than Disney, and JJ makes Michael Bay look like Steven Spielberg. So as a long time Star Wars fan i will just pretend the new trilogy never existed and stick with the first 1-6 movies and Rouge One.
Safe Harbour (2018)
Foreign fortune hunters rally up a drama
To sum up this short...
Entitled naive foreign fortune hunters decide to leave their own country by boat and willingly put their own life at risk. Shortly they are found by a bunch of naive white knights. When going get though these white knights realize they have put their own life at risk. They decide to leave the entitled naive foreign fortune hunters, to save them self. But by a miracle these entitled naive foreign fortune hunters get to land. Then they start a pity campaign to blame the white knights. So they can get their entitled fortune and live the comfortable life in the new country they have arrived.
So is this a good tv show?.. no, it has terrible production, acting, special effects, everything is pretty much bad. The agenda of this tv show is what clearly is the most important here. It's made to make you as the watcher feel pity for these naive entitled foreign fortune hunters that decide to put their own life at risk for fortune, and if you don't agree you are a racist. The conclusion is, don't waste your time on this, this ain't entertainment but propaganda.
Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018)
Terrible braindead soulless generic mediocre chaotic embarrassment mess
This is a soulless generic, mediocre, chaotic embarrassment mess, and a terrible braindead transformers CGI fest. The plot is like a cartoon with no realism what so ever, and its literally made for 10 years olds. The first movie was made for the 20-30 years olds, and had some legs at least and you could get some enjoyment out of it, even if it was not the best movie out there. Uprising the squeal there is no hope for, and anyone giving this a good score must be on the payroll of the filmmakers. I have never left a movie theater this disappointed before, and thank god i got my money back.
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Worst Spidey to Date
I have seen all the Spiderman movies up to date, and let me tell you, this one was the worst of them all. Disney's marvel send us straight back to those bad cringeworthy kids 90's TV shows. That was full of cheese and unfunny forced jokes with a very thin story line. The only positive thing about the new Spiderman movie is Michael Keaton and Tom Holland. they do a good job in this mess of a movie. But that dont save the movie when over 60 years of what made Spiderman great, gets tossed out. Everything can be summed up in one word: incompetence. If you are a fan of Spiderman do yourself a favor and stay away from this one.
Sekai no chûshin de, ai o sakebu (2004)
This is an incredibly love story.
This is an incredibly love story. At first, i thought it was just gonna be the usually common love story between two students and nothing special. But while i watched it the movie slowly showing its meaning and purpose. I changed my mind and simply love it.
Saku as the main character shown as easy going but awkward a student. While Aki as the girl he love is more cheerful and active. The story begin 17 years later when tragedy strikes Aki and Saku couldn't bear it, he couldn't accept the facts and still living in his past, hoping for the impossible future. Saku, goes back home, then try to remember all his past in order to accept it rather than forgetting the past. The story goes back and the tragedy has once again opened an old wound in Saku's heart.
The movie last for almost 2 hours, but i was sucked into the story at start and was clued to the screen. While the story unfold on the screen there wasn't one boring moment. This is one of the saddest drama movies i have seen, it's a real tearjerker. It deals with the permanence of love in a most touching and original way. If your looking for a love movie this is an absolutely must see, i highly recommend it.
Eien no 0 (2013)
one of the best movies i have seen in 2013
The Eternal Zero, just had it all, it is masterfully executed. The visual effects during the combat scenes are pretty spectacular. It's deeply touching story and amazing acting.
It's about time we see things from the Japanese perspective when it comes to the WW2. I'm tired of all the americanfied WW2 movies. Nothing beat the Japanese film making when it comes to dramas they make, they are simply the best at it. This movie is no exceptions and will leave you the viewer with heavy emotions and a lasting impression. It is simply Japanese film making at it's best.
I can highly recommend this movie, to anyone that is interested in Japanese drama. Specific to war movies buffs that want to see how it was on the other side.
True Detective (2014)
Dark and captivating
Quite simply, magnificent. HBO's latest phenomenon, True Detective, is the best new TV show around. The setting is used to every advantage in the cinematography and contributes to the feeling of dread the show evokes. The acting by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson is off the charts. I really loved this show, perfect in every department Cast is great , story is awesome. The climax was really great during the whole show. Even the 90s are well depicted and justified. Importantly the twists in the plot are very unpredictable. Can't wait to see if season 2 can live up to the expectations the first season has left on everyone.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011)
2+hours haul of Disney goodness..
this is the fourth movie in the series, and the fifth are rumored it is on the way, do we see a sixth??... anyway this epic tale just drags on as usually. seems like they just made up the movie, as they went along. filling in the plot with silly theatrics and side-tracking subplots(that we love of course!) so it ridiculous dragged out to 2+hours. but at least i didn't fell a sleep half way through, like i did on the two other movies before this one... must have been because of penelope, the sexiest woman to roam the TV screen. so is it worth watching 'yes'... because of sexy penelope and keith richards as the coolest pirate ever(again!). but first bottle up with coke and popcorn, trust me you will need it.... if it rains outside it will be good to, and if you have one of those living room chair that have a toilet included, it will be a big plus. after all your in for a 2+hours haul of Disney goodness, you definitely don't want to miss a second of it..
The Bleeding (2009)
It's best to avoid this turkey....
Another one of these vampire wretchedly unwatchable effort. Poor acting, cheap effects, script prob written on a hankie. The dialog in this movie is just plain dumb and too juvenile. The story was such a mess that I hardly cared about what was going on. This was one of the worst movies I ever attempted to watch. Until now , i knew that there are Movies , low budget movies and B movies. Now i suppose we have to welcome " C movies ". Believe me, you have a lot more fun looking out your window, if you do not have a window, staring at your wall will give you the same excitement. When the history of film making is written, there will have to be a whole book written about the time idiots got their hands on video cameras and decided they could make a movie. If you have not seen this movie yet, then don't. it's best to avoid this turkey you are now warned.
The Last One (2008)
This is a great documentary, a real treasure.
This is a great documentary, a real treasure. Popcorn Sutton was my kind of American, and the way the feds hounded him into ending his own life over some untaxed white lightning is a disgrace. This film is much cheerier than that, though, it features Popcorn and friends building their site and distilling the good stuff from the mash while explaining the process and talking story. The instructions shown here on how to make a backwoods still amount to a full lesson by the last of the breed on how to do this, and are both comprehensive and simple. Filmed in the mountains of North Carolina, The Last One is a journey deep into Southern Appalachia, and Appalachian culture, as seen through the lens of a mason jar.
Vampyrer (2008)
the plot....
This is a good movie i gave it an 8. Since there is no plot at IMDb yet, here is the plot translated from Sweden to English, enjoy. One night two vampire sisters, Vera and Vanja, make a fatal mistake that forces them to run and fight for their lives while being chased by a biker-gang.On this particular night Vanja has also promised herself to share a life-changing secret with her sister Vera; Vanja is ready to try to give up the outcast vampire life, adjust to the real world and live amongst the humans. Løperjenten (1981)
what this movie is about...
Kamilla was originally released in Sweden in 1981, then made the specialty-house rounds in the US four years later. Nina Knapskog is astonishingly perceptive as the 7-year-old daughter of bitterly battling parents. Seeking an escape from the vitriol, Nina develops of friendship with a lonely little boy. Together the kids form a united front against the nastiness and callousness of the rest of the world. Echoes of the earlier child's eye view foreign classic Forbidden Games are inescapable, but the sheer virtuosity of Kamilla enables it to stand on its own lofty merits.

Karachi (1989)
what is this movie about? read here.
To all appearances a hippie misplaced in time, Sara (Amanda Ooms) arrives in Oslo from Karachi bearing a suitcase full of heroin and is promptly picked up by the police. In order for the authorities to find out the real reason for her having the suitcase, she is hidden away at a policeman's vacation home. She is a really odd, jittery person, prone to teasing her policeman guard sexually by doing such things as painting her nude body and parading before him. The beleaguered cop manages (barely) to resist her blandishments and is able to prevent her from harming herself. Meanwhile, the mystery of the missing suitcase begins to have interesting consequences, leading to a final shootout between the police and the bad guys.
O rodicích a detech (2008)
great movie.........
A seemingly trivial situation A son goes for a walk with his father. But, the son is in his forties, living his own life. The father is over 70. The only thing these two men apparently have in common is that they go for a walk together once a month. With brilliantly executed dialogue, the history of the 20th century and all its absurdities are revealed in front of our eyes. The deepest areas of human relationships are uncovered. The relationship between a father and son has never been described in such an interesting way: Two grown-up men who respect, hate and love each other, all at once. There is nothing extreme about it, but it is something intimately familiar to anyone who has lived long enough to be able to talk with their fathers in middle age. The destinies of both the protagonists clash, mingle and, immediately afterwards, move away by centrifugal force. For a moment, they are friends, for a moment a father and son and for a moment, they are complete strangers
Zombi: La creazione (2007)
Bruno Mattei's ZOMBIES THE BEGINNING...
Sharon, the only survivor of the explosion of the salvage ship Dark Star, is having a hard time with the insurance company in furnishing them with a satisfactory explanation about her accident. She tells the story of her horrible experience, but is considered crazy - no one believes her when she tells about the existence of living dead on an island that can't be found on any nautical map. About one year later... Barker, representative of an important pharmaceutical company, is the only one to believe Sharon, and as there is no news of a scientific crew sent six months earlier to capture some samples of those beings, he convinces her to join the rescue team and take part in the mission. Sharon and the rescue team arrive on the island armed and equipped like marines, and set forth to carry out their task. They reach what seems to be a lab, and discover diverse glass coffins containing horrible genetically-altered mutants, apparently dead. All of a sudden a woman with her belly torn open emerges from the vapours and attacks Barker, who is saved by the swift intervention of Taylor. Their detectors signal another moving presence... they find a baby boy-monster... they are able to destroy it with the help of a flame-thrower. When the members of the scientific crew are located, it is decided to go and recover them in order to leave the island. They come across remains of human fetuses. They battle against horrible creatures - the living-dead children of genetic mutations. Some of them fall prey to those monsters... They must leave the island, but the submarine won't be back for another ten days. An S.O.S. is sent. Truth comes to light: it is Barker who has the task of bringing back one of those creatures to his company... even at the cost of their lives. After escaping from the attack of a myriad of living-dead mutants, Taylor and Sharon discover something hellish: The Nest, where the female members of the scientific crew are used as incubators for those horrendous mutant children - a new generation of zombies. With their flame-thrower they burn all those little zombies. An explosion follows. Sharon manages to escape, but...

Zeppelin (1981)
what this movie is about...
Nina (Silvia Myhre) goes off to the countryside with her parents on a brief vacation where she encounters a boy hiding up in a tree (Prebar Skjoensberg). The two soon become best friends, sharing an opposite problem: Nina's parents are too overprotective and the little boy's parents are a little negligent (they do not really know where is he most of the time). So Nina and the little boy run off together for awhile, earnestly discussing topics that deal with life from a seven-year-old's perspective. Maybe both sets of parents will soon be in for a bit of behavior modification, as their children unknowingly or not, start to have an effect on their elders.
Hard asfalt (1986)
what this movie is about...
This melodrama is based on the best-selling autobiography of Ida Halvorsen, a part-time prostitute with a life that was difficult to survive. Ida (Kristin Kajander) grew up with an alcoholic father, and after she married an alcoholic, her life went from early marital bliss to misery. She had a child during that marriage, took drugs, and turned to prostitution to get the money she needed. Along the way, many characters she met were dangerous and in more than one instance almost killed her. For Norwegians who are familiar with her story, the ending to the film will be recognized as incomplete, the story continues. For other audiences the ending might be a little grim.
