The Penguin: A Great or Little Thing (2024)
Woof ! The ending
Rat race finally coming to an end . What a show ! Once Daredevil from Netflix had this standard. Impeccable ; is just a word ..
This is a spoiler free review. I hope the letter to Sofia is not from someone whom we have already seen in Reeve's Batman Universe.
Penguin kept no Loosr ends . Too much Scorsese just Made DC grittier & i loved every single moment of it ..
This episode visibly looks high budgeted. Wide Angle Shots , less words & more Action. Every got they what they f____g deserves.
And now
My interest is x4 for Batman 2.
A rolls huh?
Its gonna get upside down again.
And i just forgot that the show's name was penguin & not Sophia or Well anyone in particular.
Damn smooth ending. Felt like a video game loading screen
Its about to happen
Isnt it? : )
Alien: Romulus (2024)
Grandpa & grandma's are deliberately down voting this
Because
1) it isn't exactly like they wanted it to be ...
.
.
2) Alien 4 gave us an offspring so this film did nothing new(could you imagine, nothing new) .... Nothing? What about the release date
*Chuckles
.
.
3) All they wanna see is og 1979 Alien on a repeat mode
*Wow , just wow
.
.
4) Some people just hate Ridley Scott (from the time of Prometheus) boomers : no way we were made by engineers , i wont tolerate, proceeds to send death threats to director
Happened with Lucas too at the time of prequels
Look at prequels rating now though ~ *chuckles
.
.
5) some Gen X & boomers dont even like teenagers ...
Just pure hate. Unfiltered. How are there's not a single matured man in a film?? Like how?? They can't even imagine watching an kids Animated show , *proceeds to break the TV infront seeing Animated kids show; why telecasting it? Why??
.
.
ALL THE OLD PEOPLE WANTED ANOTHER ALIEN FEATURING ONE XENO & ONE chestbuster, & thats it .. thats that . Fin . No one likes creativity, No one .. that's the sole reason why The Force Awakens was liked by boomers , WHICH OG creator of Star wars George lucas, DISLIKED .
M I WRONG?
Super Glad that
Disney kept the offspring. The gripping tension at the end of the film was mesmerizing. What a terrifying creature! The space jumpscare actually can kill a person, kudos!!
Yes i loved Prometheus
I loved covenant
David is dangerous than most of the film antagonists combined.
.
.
But boomers?
All they want to see is same Alien 1 on loop with new cgi .
Poor souls .. They don't know j@cksh!t about art , they are afraid of experimenting with new elements
That's the sol reason why films are now either sequels or remake
Boomers & Boomers who are in executive seat want that ...
& They want us teenagers (who btw has seen All the previous alien films) to watch one xeno & one Facehugger
Lots of tension
How can you make a film with one xeno & one FH?
Yeah original Alien 1979.
Thanks Mr Alvarez.
Thank you Disney for doing something great
All of a sudden..

Just watch how much down vote my reviews gonna get , just BC i have exposed them . As , Anyone, Should.
The Acolyte (2024)
Oen the damn eyes , touch grass . Send this to Bob iger & Kathleen Kennedy
Lesley headland response to Jedis(Sol) ; they're sex*st ...
Lesley headland makes a bad guy undressed in one slow episode where he tries to seduce a teenage girl : not sex*st at all .
Lol the hypocrisy!
Lol , lol , lol ...
Lesley heyland: Jedis are sex*st ..
Lesley heyland : adds a group of witches, manipulating the force ..
Gives them two force enhanced kids..
Mother witch never lets the daughter be free individuals ..
Lol, hypocrisy again...
Its like Lesley heyland hates OG Star wars where some jedis were actually had good nature , stoic . Its like Lesley heyland never took Yoda's advice from ESB ...
Never saw Qui gon's stoicism from TPM ...
Never saw any other Star wars shows like Clone wars , Rebels or even Rogue one
Where Men , Gyn erso , Ahsoka fought while accepting their respective, inbuilt flaws. Faced difficulties yet stayed true to their beliefs.
****
Adds two malicious girls ...
Adds puny jedis who lie ... (Vernestra meeting Yoda but not telling him about Her failed apprentice 's return )
Kills the Actual good natured Jedi = Sol.
The heart & soul of this show was Sol .
What a tremendous man! From 1st episode to last he tried soo soo many times to win Osha's trust . He saved her from the icy mountain cliff..
He saved her from being a convict Jedi killer,
He tried to make amends,
& Atlast he accepted his past faults . He was guilty..
Osha (Under Leslie heyland 's direction) kills sol & joins up with Qimir . Only if the girl knew , If you let your past dictates your present, you're already under emotional baggage. You ll never ever be satisfied.
That's exactly how sith works .
I am giving this show a 2 because of
One character only & that is , SOL . From a man to another Man ,
" When you accept your humane flaws , youre a superior man in my eyes. Because every living being is imperfect. "
Idc what drug addicted Leslie heyland thinks or whatever her ideology is ..
However she,
Adds a sith which kills humans like vegetables. That same humans (not a sith) shows empathy towards young African American siblings
. So
Lemme guess this straight, if a jedi wants an apprentice, its bad. If a jedi wants to free 2 children from their manipulating mother, its bad.its corruption & Sol was younger so less patience in past means SOL HAS TO DIE EVEN AFTER ADMITTING..
Yet when a man butchered some 7,8 jedis , tried to kill a sister & THEN Later shows erotic empathy, "its good?" , valid? , Okay??
.
.
Hypocrisy, lol, lol , lol. Pathetic Writing, Hypocrisy everywhere...
.
.
.
Thanks Leslie heyland for giving us a 2 second cgi clip of Plaguies. (What a tight b*tch slap to fans !) (Chubba feels like added in the last minute) how can i not mention that?
180 million was worth it .
Loved the dressing code of witches, their ornaments & jewelleries. Pretty sure i was watching Fashion TV . Loved the song sung by them (bollywood style!)
&
Do a season 2 with 180 million.
Disney would love to waste total 360 million for agenda pushing show. Or better, even more ...
M not afraid
Renew it ...
Male are puny , se"ist , big*ts , toxic , slams up & down
While Deadpool and Wolverine grossed 1 billion with zero agenda pushing techniques & extreme violence.
Go on
Renew the acolyte. Do it ...
Oddity (2024)
May I?
Why it's been given a 9.
The story begins with pieces. Sometimes showing past & ongoing present. Which was quite beautifully crafted. Pacing was melancholic, bit intriguing. It is perfect for a one time viewing. I hate people rushing scenes
.
Jumpscares are subtle. They aren't used with toxicating Increase in Noise . The plot itself has two twists . Former one being the best.
.
Acting was quite okay from viewing. I don't believe acting can be described in writing so it was okay to some scenes being great. The Actress playing Anna , the lover of the Guy did a great job as catalyst.
.
People expecting too much seems to forget its not being marketed, the way it should have been done . Its a great film with no to zero elements of supernatural yet being extremely realistic.
.
Didn't catch any massive plot holes , except why someone would build a wooden doorway to the basement floor straight . And How is that new spouse,Anna being a bad bztch as she is can date a psychological doctor running asylum.
.
Ending required a massive blow to the Guy . Why Pulling the Damn Punch??
A Quiet Place: Day One (2024)
Was it
Boring to you cuz There weren't any Hollywood paid celebrities in it? You know , I eat from my Fathers executive checks ... Duhh! Stop MOANING &
F o_ff tbh!

This film ran purely on emotions & I absolutely Adored it. The only complaint would be the extensive use of darker atmosphere omnipresent in every 10 minutes.
Except that,
Lupita 's character was hella lot interesting to watch then John kranzinski 's western cowboy pathetic acting. Quite place showed a baby being born without any noise . Not even Emily blunt nor the baby , STFU FOR FS Maaan ... Atleast This one didn't show any gigantic plot hole like that ...
Some scenes were fantastic. While QP1 & 2 suffered from no mass massacre scene or Multiple Alien scenes, thus by less to zero horror this film shows the actual old school horror (reminded me of Cloverfield & War of the worlds).
Joseph Quinn's acting stole the film might I say? The cat was present every where trying to teach you how to live in environment like this . Attentive yet helpful. Cat Distribution System choose him & that was a delight to watch . Both of these characters remind me of COVID 2020 when World was at awe
People were really helpful towards their close relatives
It was kindness & the ability to help others which saved our own lives.
Even when you didn't have any any relatives, even in despair you can find a friend who will help you see the light. Quinn's character repeatedly urging to stay was such a cool move . Can you imagine die being alone, yearning for going back to your family when 'world wide invasion' is happening rather than by side of a friend?
Nice touch.
Every detail was present in this film. Was expecting a lot more political & geographical details about why in NY & any news outside the continent still a solid small, one time watch worthy movie.

Idk which 20 yr old Kyle or karen watched this
OR SOME FILM school D-baggot wrote
"BORING!"
hella revolting cuz they were strictly prohibited from going to school or outside while their respective families gathered at supermarket for groceries when LOCKDOWN happened...
The Acolyte: Teach/Corrupt (2024)
How on earth is this episode is at 5?
30 minutes,
Every character is talking with exact four words
"How'd get that scar?"
"Only after you loose everything"
Sol buffering,
"I should ve told you"
There's this clown Vernestra
(Afraid of hyperspace)
(Invests most of the time talking dogpu)
"WE mUsT take this to tHe High CouncIl"
Gonna show it or what lack budget? Time?
Straight white guy accompanying Vernestra is a joke in the name Jedis. Ever. Its an insult even you could say . To George. Jedi wisdom, knowledge, disciplines, principal .
This is absolute abomination
Sequel trilogy's writing standard. No jedi is Stoic, serious , bad - ass . Every one of them are weak . Downright disgusting. When i heard of Sith & they did a poster showing blood I thought about A Sith like ,
"Voldemort"
Powerful, beyond evil, unknown.
Demonic even . Why not?
Who came up with this 30sh asian dude? Bad guy? What a joke .
I don't feel any emotions towards even the bad guy , except 'sorry' that he had to deal with these jedis .
Two main characters are hormonal teenagers.
They changing sides like chameleon shading.
Their respective integrity has been sold at ,
Lucasfilm/ Disney Studios.
The Acolyte: Revenge/Justice (2024)
Erm, fans are well ...
Behaving like fans . They're emotionally driven thus unbalanced. First & second episode premier was pretty good. With time, people will definitely understand that. W
Both episodes have good cast . Lee is acting really well. Master Sol is a really interesting character. Episodes feels well made not haphazard. Editing & choreography feels perfect. Not all characters are written well , however I liked some of the creative decisions like chair droids & the jedi using a robot for cargo transportation.
Most of the universe (,*known planets, people) look fantastic! Its a rich show after all . Production shows ... W
I am admitting i have now interest for this shows plot .
Oh, drop your prejudices. Watch it as it is fresh.
I still am hoping for more sith footage otherwise its all going down .
Mae & Osha's story is still a bit dull. Its copying some sequel elements from Rey and kylo's story. Both seeing each other & accessing memory lane. Predictable. L ,
Small episode. F you directors & kids who needs p*ss break in every 40 minutes. L
Still no yoda , L
Continuing...
The Acolyte: Lost/Found (2024)
Focus on the bad guy , zamn
Was against this show . Just for your Information.
Plus ? Budget is way much. Scenic Backgrounds looks stunning.
Story is developing slowly. Great.
World building is at perfection.
Meaning is clear , someone has found a flaw in the 420 republic order & wants to take advantage of it via their apprentice
Character like Sol is befitting to his name. He is adding all the emotions Carrie Anne missed. Character of Vernestra is cool. Reminds me of Yoda .
Really liked the voice of The Sith . I wish more footage on him .
.
.
.
.
Hmm
Sith deserves much more threat. He standing & speaking some flamboyant lines isn't going to work. I hope trailer footages of him aren't ' just that.'
Not too many groups of alliances .
Where is Yoda???
Duration is still a huge issue for this Disney plus kid friendly Star wars shows. Loki s2 had lengthy episodes. Felt immersive.
& All the other actors except Sol & Vernestra 's acting seems dull.
How do you get such stylish haircuts far away at the galaxy?
Shogun: The Abyss of Life (2024)
Now now perfection has its own reward (haven't read book)
Come on , my hands are shaking. I just finished the episode.
I don't remember this feeling since Red wedding.
This is pure savage. Absolute madness. I must write one detail first, giving a land to Brothel & church was such a great move , its hidden so well, you might call that move an art. Such a flip off , love it ! Whoever wrote this episode, screenwriter must be on some really forbidden chemical. Toranaga's move i ll discuss but
Just by viewing standards the intensive conversation scene between Toranaga & Hiramatsu is spine tingling , sensational. I just had a fight with my friend few days ago so its understandable how characterfull the element of ego plays within a person's brain.
I wouldn't have done this what Hiramatsu did. He gave in to his emotions. Mariko sama's lines were true , Loyalty doesn't end . Life might do & besides I 'd love to die by a brother. A brother i have . I wouldnt regret. Yes. That's what brotherhood means .
Now now
You can not enter Heaven unless you face hell
Toranaga's fate . This is acting within acting. Splendid direction. Unforgettable experience. Epic , Raw . I won't be explaining this giant sacrifice.
But you Sir , the character of Toranaga
I would very much to be within your family or far far away . How can you push your acting so well? How ?? Woof . Awesome. Pure absolute blitz ! I ll remember this episode. 8.
A lucky number indeed.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: The Harbinger (2024)
Crosshair: you're naive
If you don't like this episode.
Well what do you know? I felt like the very first feeling of watching star wars the empire strikes back.
And are we ignoring certain points here?
For first, what was the budget? The animation looks smooth as butter. Water animation looks blissful, the underwater fight sequence felt better than acolyte teaser for Christ 's sake !
Not only this , i love the way how the episode first dealt with our bad batch not agreeing to trust Ventress at first branding her as a befitting WAR CRIMINAL (they all are) and when she proves herself with taking charge of real threat, they trusted her .
Felt like crosshair had a moment with Asajj , they look cute together
& Hay ,
If star wars doesn't emotionaly right , it ain't star wars dawg .
Plus
Liked the way Ventress as in why changed to white jedi has been left to books . It doesn't harm what happened in the book so it felt sweet.
Loved ventress attitude towards our boys
Music switching to bad batch tune when boys said we won't let you holding guns
Felt beautiful.
A 10. A good lore friendly star wars . No need for Empire appearance in every episode. Some episodes needs to feel positive.
I don't care & neither do i want to know what is being happening or wheres the story heading at , I am enjoying the ride .
You
Should
Too.
True Detective: Night Country: Part 6 (2024)
To the director
I know you want to be popular. Earn a name . You crave attention so desperately that i think you sometimes missed college education. Thus your audacity to mix random sci-fi elements for a show (NOT YOUR OWN EXCEUTIVELY PRODUCED ). You made some Netflix shows (Daredevil, Jessica jones were great) All thanks to limited woke content, a controlled content. Every other director of other episodes advising you
This is what is gonna happen, then a brutal fight scene between Daredevil and some Thugs breaks out ..
CAUSE IF YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE WITH ABSOLUTE POWER
YOU WOULD HAVE BUTCHERED A COMIC BOOK SUPERHERO. Gove them idk dialogues after dialogues , like two cats bickering . Two leads in Night country. Entangled by their relationships they are pathetically weak
& They shout at each other.
You BUTCHERED True detective. Thats one . One fact .
You got attention of female subscribers
You got attention of HBO women executives
Form a 'HBo woMeN' with your friends
& Start a True detective. A new True detective with pink logo & Jodie foster & other members bedding everyone around , seeing ghosts & then behaving like absolute baboons (,look at me i am policewoman, i lost my son & about to loose an adopted girl by showing trauma on everyone 's face, regretting it & then bedding a senior) .
No Crappy Time is a flat circle BS this time . Mix every other show like breaking bad , twin peaks , Mindhunter , scooby doo , salem's lot , powerpuff girls, throw in female indie musics
Voila! A brand new Experience.
You know what is a disgrace move though?
That forced , "subvert" ,
Subvert people's expectations . You know
I never had a television or Network tv growing. I wish i could see some shows from 90s...
Oh there is " True detective Night country by Issa lopez " i ll just watch that .
" Yo no one killed anyone , they just felt the guilt so they started running naked on ice at -40°c . "
Brilliant.
Issa lopez should open a magic show .
& Force people to believe in Magic really exists. No science, science is fake .
Then after being exposed , she should be given plenty of money and new people to make absolute fool. An another chance. Instantly.
Notable people who deserve a chance:
People who made Game of thrones last season.
Charles Manson
Issa lopez
Rian Johnson
Jeffrey Epstein.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Paths Unknown (2024)
Man , i just wanted to thank the Guy who's writing.
You might call this episode a half filler, but
The new species who took prisoner the alien pyke were mysterious.
This episode had a similar tone with Mandalorian monster stories. But it kept it hidden till the last point.
Nala se & Omega's character were well developed. They did say that Nala se species were ruthless but it looks like she's quite calculating & empethetic towards Omega . Omega talking to Crosshair gives hope in my heart
The filler story had great writing. Short , shown . No constant talking or annoying jokes. Straight to the point things . Its the last season, m not crying..
I was teary eyed when Hunter just said choose your own path to young clones . The line fits well beyond words.
Great throwback to Andor 's One way out .
Ironic!
Ahh,
A genetically enhanced sarlacc if i am not wrong.
Nice touch.
Revealing it in the end. Who would care? Hah ...
Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Confined (2024)
Pretty serious.
Slow cinematography. Ominous development. Great to see Omega with long hair . Call me a kid , if this is a kid's show . Its great to be a kid. I am tremendously greatful towards Dave for keeping the show & its characteristics intact. If you're a clone wars fan from early days
This is the Good News for you.
Considering its the last season of Clone wars continuation
This just feels atmospheric. Chilly, down right to the backbone.
The score is sad whenever Omega sees crosshair
Nala se is interesting. We shall watch her career with great interest .
The older Omega hides a lot more secrets than she's revealing. I hope they keep her alive for quite a lot more stuff . Make her do , make her take actions .
True Detective: Night Country: Part 3 (2024)
Can i be honest with you?
This won't work.
Season 1 was Deep . Character full. Decent but with Hollowed past . A gap . Which was vivid within their respective acting . All related with 7 human sins . Different yet flawed , even main leads. Haunting music , traumatising human behaviour. A tensed episode showing cops & unlawful men just go at eachother. Add that with Matthew 's 400 pages preparation for the character.
You won't have it . Agreed.
Season 2 didn't have that , okay . Still people processed it.
Season 3 was good . No doubt it lacked the sheer complications of season 1 but still Mr Ali won that season with his acting.
What is this?
Every character is dogmatic. They fill their respective gaps with vigorous behaviour. Everybody's energetic. Stuffers from existential dread which has been maximized in every episode . Not a single character seems different, unique .
( Guy is a police officer, who told you to marry? Have a kid? Then again in a place like that with a wife who isn't clearly ready enough for the RESPONSIBILITY of having a child ?) That's a issue they are chosing to show in True detective. That & stupid parenting. Kids aren't that bad , is just that Fosters character is a deep western woman. Struck in 80s . She just shouts & tells everyone, wrong question.
We have some weird coitus scenes in true detective.
The thing in true detective . Or The X files
Stranger things in True detective. Static shocks ! Hilarious
No thrill or tensed, dramatic situations in True detective.
Melancholy in True detective.
With
Slow pub house or hideout songs thrown in between.
Nah
I was excited for Jodie foster. I added True detective in my watchlist months ago . I am choosing not to write about acting of anyone, at all.
New Director needs to understand The concept of actual gritty politics of the real world. This copying your favourite movies , shows & mixing it
Wont work.
Blow-Up (1966)
I am utterly speechless
I am 26 . I thought yeah i ll watch an old mystery movie. After seeing 8 1/2 to Solaris ,
From watching Caligula to kuroneko, i can sit through a slow burn mystery film . Its not a big deal. Above mentioned films aren't mystery but they do have their respective enigmatic points . Thrill , music ,apathy, joy . And mind you, i am not going to write about every old school cinema i have watched just to remind you, i am equally humble & i have tolerance.
.
.
.
.
Start
A red haired toddler is driving a car which doesn't suits him . He's a photographer with awe inspiring aura. Machoism & constant bullying.
Tolerable.
He's driving again. (2 minute footage)
Now he's in an antique shop ( 4 minutes footage )
Tolerable
He's driving again
He met & talked to his manager. (2 + 1 minute of gibberish)
Uses a walkie - talkie to prove how big daft of a middle leg he is.
Tolerable
Girls in this movie looks worse than shape of a dying roadside dogs . They are constantly getting bullied. (Combined, 5 to 7 minutes of footages) , still tolerable..
Voila! He's driving again. ( 2 minute footage ) not anymore.
He met a girl in the park.
Took her pictures & speaks afterwards in a redundant way.
Goes back to that same antique shop
Later on,
That woman somewhat how finds where he lives , they talked &
I paused
.
.
.
.
And i should have seen john Travolta 's Blow out than this reluctant pile of footages this Italian director made . This is vomit inducing, tedious, un required footages of moody yet idiotic botched , characterless of a man driving his 10 feet long car . Do all cameramen from Europe were like this? I have read about Eugene Smith. Guess he was humble despite being American. Damn .
US 1
EU 0
What i have written
Is probably how the director, antonio antionti or whatever
Wrote & told the crew members to act like. They all seem malnourished, tired , the titular guy looks he works in a paint sniffing company. Has lost most of his emotions by plugging in his middle leg in dead caracasses.
Take the Rating down . Take the entire movie down . I know Hollywood has probably made its 2nd or 3rd copy with Johny depp & for the first time,
I am going to write
" A copied product is better than the Original. "
Cause if this original film or product
The public who went to theatre in 1966 to see this probably started giving each a massive J(o)B
& Thus,
The rating .
I think this types of films where director deliberately shows horrendous side stuff to make you mellow for the hidden mystery, deserves a new genre .
Dumpster fire .
Would you see dumpster fire even when you are like
Free? Or bored?
I'd rather hug my ex than finishing this film.
1? If i make a movie of me defecating i want This dead director Antonio antonioti to rate my film a 10 however I still won't give this movie a 1.
( Rating couldn't go any lower )
This film is now within Top 2 worst films i have seen in my 21 years of consciousness. Thank you.
James May: Our Man in...: Calamari (2024)
Could have made 2 more episodes but i understand the concern
Tea brawl in Darjeeling
And i have never seen an opening like this in a Show. The reason why i am giving this episode a 9 because of Tollywood.
Bengali tv industry is timid. Daily martini drama about a nuclear family being the main aspect, tv industry is just pathetically boring. These shows are what typical boomers of Bengali people consume.
This being philosophical, (quite different than family drama)
Imagine seeing James May,
In a Bengali show , walking with excellency . Must have been absolute Ludacris!!! Those crew people were laughing because of James repeatedly forgetting some mere words to say after being dressed like a Duke ! Lmao , They set an expectations bar high cause that type of activity, (a Brit coming to WestBengal & suddenly wants to be in a for cameo thing ) doesn't happen. No way it does . They were expecting a good performance but
It just shows how slow he is no matter whether its a hotel lobby or trying to arrange some new words . And add that to the way he marched inside that dark bungalow, under single bulbs like invading someone's private quarters, 'chanting ancient Bengali verses'. Hilarious stuff . James being his absolute best.
Kolkata (calcutta) is the educated part of India . Here people are smart , communicative & somewimes even competitive. The interpreter who was present with james while they were filming that philosophical show knew & understood every type of innuendo both side expressed. The Producers of Our man in and The director of that philosophical Bengali show yet remained silent.
I would be rolling on thw floor if i were in his position. Bonkers!
Aditi's part was short . Darjeeling showed the peaceful yet urban & quite side of India , intertwined between Himalayan mountains deducing the cold of Kashmir. Ah , The tea presenter women wouldn't like James after their duel .
'Hello' , won't impress her no more.
& Lastly Sundarbans was a treat .
Its the Delta which will go completely underwater within next 5 to 10 years . Confirmed .
One logical Answer to people complaining, "this was short" is ..
The southern part of India isn't very easy to cover . Due to acute political, geographical, economical, linguistic reasons . You need to have a basic idea, understanding of all these aspects about every sothern , middle states of India (thats like , 11 to 14 different states ,all having their own respective language & culture ). You need to have continuous spontaneouship cause
The southern part will beat you up . Add temperature, humidity, recklesness.
There's a reason why we adore James May for his different yet fantastic principles . Not now but from the days of Early Top gear ... He's the most sensitive of them all but becomes threatening if exposed to heights, noise & verbal idiosyncrasy.
So
I was satisfied. Small , light-hearted, not particularly focused on anything yet James may discovering something new . Things which are definitely small than driving a Ferrari Roma or traveling in a superfast Sinkansen
But
Favours the host with unlimited fun using less in every way .
They say,
Great men are usually fascinated by small things.
James May: Our Man in...: A Bit Like Glasgow (2024)
Taj
An enjoyable episode.
Short & sweet . Full of Desi culture. Love the way the entire cast enjoyed every single moment. I am absolutely sure that there are much more footage but couldn't made it in for the episode. Its pretty normal.
The thing about Delhi , the street food*chuckles, streets are very vivid. Lightful. Joyous. The entire place feels like a giant carnival with various shops all selling colourful items. The co-presenter was charming. Only delivered lines professionally. Didn't feel bold like Aditi from the first episode. I know why this guy vikramjit , was soothing to many International viewers & i want them to know i understand their povs but , but ;
Have you seen Drivertribe video? Foodtribe videos? There's this co - presenter "Lucy Brown" . I love her . I love her dry partnership & pseudo answers to james . It seems so natural. Even James prefers Lucy cause she's a natural. Why would a teenager girl would Answer to a 60 yr Old British man ? Then again in his own sort of competitive way!?
Exactly. That's why i found Aditi's relationship with James quite a lot more interesting than typical co presenters laughing, saying: yes .
No , go there , if you do this this will happen.
Cricket match was poor so was adding stickers to a bat. (Amazon's show off.)
Glad the episode had another great shot of Still ongoing tradition of Maharajas . How auspicious it is to have a "big head" lmao, hold there gen-z !!! The line have different meanings for different cultures. No disrespect.
But,
Dig every line of James subtly poking at Indian government still providing an environment,an idiotic train of British Raj.
Scraap it !
Devlop something unique !
On we go..
James May: Our Man in...: John (2024)
That was refreshing
Casting aside my prejudices plus adding a professional point of view,
The episode was moderate. Was it interesting? Yes. Was it colourful? Yes.
Different in all aspects? Yes .
We all are aware that host , James,
*Bim
No
*John
is going to countries which he prefers after Producers offer. Agreed Our man in Japan was amazing, Italy was just posh & Ferrari (kinda mundane)
This one being first episode was just cool as its supposed to be.
With prejudices,
No i dont think a country like India can be covered that easily. Top gear India special visited Mumbai & reached peaks of North India. Come on,that was a menacingly fun because of Jezza & the Hammond 's dissing , so don't expect this to be like that .
The co host Aditi was kind of a comic who belongs in a stand up type of Millenial generation, some insight jokes about population, past history felt welcome . Sorry boomers who are reading this review. (Imdb is filled with those). James did threw in some shots just before the desi titlecards were appearing in between every episodes. Subtle. Or should I write,
Cool ...
.
.
.
India isn't a country where you could just chill all day & still seek adventure. You Have To Get Your Hands Dirty . That is Adventure.
You can't beat a river into submission, you have to use its current to flow your way.
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
Be careful not to choke on your Aspirations, Creator team.
Plus points: Yes The actress who is playing Artheleis / kora is good . As a main protagonist her story fits in well. Ending fight sequence is good. Lots of firework, good cinematography. Choreography as in Hand to Hand combat was great. The Opening was also natural. Showed us a quite part of the universe. Rather simple which felt necessary for setting up a story.
Its a good movie if you like action . Just that . And Games . RPGs . Yep. See i am writing less words. Good explanation isn't it?
Here we go .
The middle part of the entire movie was soulless. What were they trying to sell us? Horribly edited, copied things from other movies .
Jeez!!
The birdy looking alien , what to call it? Its a massive Raven . With its jolly eyes . Its just a render of the dragon TOOTHLESS from , How to train your dragon.
Characters are like video games. There's a new guy i know , lets go to him . New guy challenges for a fight. Player wins , gain new guy as a friend. And , obviously the player (good guys, dont lose.)
Slow motion in practically everything. The lens glare technique from J.j. Abrams is in every scene of this movie .
Story is a copy of Dune .
The father who adopted the protagonist girl looks exactly like Paul Atreides father (Oscar Issac in beard) from Dune .(by Dennis Villeneuve)
Leave that , leave everything
The villain side is literally dressed as Nazis. They have a leader who is very ahhhm
,
Suave. Talks with a cheap manner, nicely. Then destroys his good personality suddenly, woaaah .
Thats original. I am surprised. Oh m sold !
Antagonist side has very few footage. Cause hero s were recruiting & fighting new members. And that increases the amount of threat.
You must be thinking,
This creator team said "ef , star wars !"
This creator team mixed animals with humans to give us aliens. Here we have a small spider who is an alien. Then there's a giant woman spider who is also an alien. The creator team has two or three ideas about ship designing & they are all in this movie . The creator team decided to show one scene of space flying. *Hunnam 's character flies a cargo for the firat time . But , I remember in episode 4(1977) , Lucas gave a strong time to space dog fights . Bad Guys have chosen
Dark & cold planets are theirs .
& Good guys are in a dusty, yet aesthetically pleasing planet.
Bad guy has soldiers who are dogs. The bad guy wears a bartender dress & a Nazi coat , a cap even. Bad guys all are single headed shrills without complications. Jabba the hutt from original Star wars trilogy had natural reactions to sudden events . All the good guys are countinuosly talking about pride & guilt. While bad guy is pleasuring himself. And Orders around everybody. That's it . Thats all . Bad guys smirks in every footage of him. & The protagonist girl smiles once . Okay twice.
Good guys . Ahh yes .
One fighter who was a slave, just rode Toothless . He gained his freedom but doesn't enjoys it . And decides to become a part of Rebelious group . One unknown woman and a man . What's in return for him? Nothing. * Olympian score increases from the background... Screen fades.
The fighter from colloseum was hired without any questions asked (*cinematography changed to 300) , The guy didn't even ask the girl s name . He hears some insult from an unknown woman & decided to fight for revenge. He's in... No questions , no more .
Charlie Hunnam plays a suave Han solo. Original indeed. Saw it comin' miles ago mate , suprised to see how my accent changed lad? I wonder how his character started spitting this irish accent in space .
There a character who has two lightsabers . She became a rebel cause she defeated a spiderwoman . While saving a child she didn't use it, but later starts using it . No background story about her. Cause who cares?
Then there's a guy who's in love with the strong woman.
He rescues everyone in the end . But trusts a girl who hasn't told him why she chose the simple life. The strong woman never reveals how she crash landed into this simple side of the galaxy. But goes on & on about history of the King & how she was a great general.
I guess we ll never know why she chose to betray the king's side.
& Yes it wasn't revealed who assassinated the king, queen & their Godly daughter.
From a cinema point of view,
This has no emotions. No threatening moments. Good guys all came out alive not even a wound. They talk like video games about ambition & Honour, pride. Nobody talks about their parents, their loss, their past . Bad guy with a tat on his face got beaten to a pulp in the end. He was trying to dance like a joker with a stick in his palm half the time.
Do we remember seeing Darth Vader like this in Original movies?
In any movie?
I am interested in seeing next part but with this kind of slow mo , horrible editing & greek names
I am glad its releasing on Netflix.
Watch Rogue one with John Williams score & no slow motion.
It has Darth Vader in it .
Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)
I got nothing to add. No pun okay? please..
It is perfect. It is like finishing a book within 3hour 30m. Every page 's particular moments are timidly presented. Every single emotion , feels. The sudden guilt after guilt feels absolutely gut wrenching. The ending feels powerful even when the director appeared & announced,"there was no mention of the murders"
Humanity killing humans. The most heinous, arrogant act you could ever pull. Linear, much more poignantly presented Story. Every camera angle, duration of each shot is perfect. I can't say about Netflix generation,
IT JUST NOT MADE FOR YOU . DO SOD OFF , i guess .
But, I FOUND THIS PERFECT.
Marty's 80 . This is his best . And i don't think a book based on Indian people could have been adopted into a cinema by any other directors. I bet the editor of this film is a fine director himself,so is the cinematographer, the sound designer & some actors too. It was that good.
This cinema was that good.
In other words it feels like the mixture of Wolf of wall Street & The Lawrence of Arabia. The tidbit of the departure & J. E. Hoover.
Powerful , would be an understatement.
Some of the screenshots from this film are piece of art.
Doctor Who: Wild Blue Yonder (2023)
Stop thinking
Best episode i have ever seen in a long time . How's this at 8.5?
The episode had the perfect pace . Nothing felt rushed . Nothing felt cringey. There was that suspense which kept on building, ended up being funny & emotional at the same time. I wanted this . I Sooo wanted this . The moment they realise that , they are trapped.. both of them started pouring out their respective memories, reminiscing the good times*suddenly then the bad thing happened*
& Again
& Again
& Again bad things kept on happening..
*re-edit: i completely forgot the middle portion of this episode! The CGI still needs improvement . The gigantic tunnel had unnatural lighting. Except that , the entire time Doctor & Donna were stealing this show! It felt like an old friend meeting you after a long time. An old friend whom you used to hang out with. Finally, some "hey shawty, how you have been doing?" The tone changed to horror when that friend has forgotten him/herself/themself & rather than Doctor,Donna shined in her respective creepy moments. Standing in silence behind Doctor
After that
It is all a twist
Only be felt, cant be written, i am sorry.
The ending puzzle of slowing your enemy down & rescuing Donna had literally the tease of twist i have wanted in Doctor who for a quite Long Time . It just shows how well an episode can be made to its maximum pinnacle. And in rhe Case of Acting , both were absolute units . The chemistry & dynamic were reminicent of Old Doctor who. Who doesn't like that?
The episode ends with Wilfred. He's a legend for Supporting the Doctor when he had to let go of Donna .That still makes me sad , David acted so well in that episode. But , I don't remember seeing two characters in one 52 minutes episode who ll force me to go to the edge of my seat multiple times .
Perfect old school Doctor who. All that 52 minutes seemed like 15 minutes of clash & banter between two friends. Gosh!!
I don't think i was blinking while watching the episode trying to deduce how to hack this pandorum ship. Pandorum is a horror movie where a colony ship slowly becomes a haunting ship trapped in space. When a new ship & its crew try to rescue it , they all fell victim to the Colony ship's mazes & paranoia. Finally Ended up killing eachother.
Awesome experience, great storytelling, right execution of scenes.
Wholesome ending.
Allons-y.
Kyûketsuki hantâ D (1985)
Perfection
Why?
Most of the anime movies i have found is much complicated for average audience. Its complicated through multiple perspectives. Life, emotions , death, (take Akira , Ghost in the shell , paprika etc ; mind you these are absolutely beautiful for me who adores complicated movies/ so it's getting a 9 ) however, this?
This is recommendable. Enjoyable for a laid-back old school anime movie . It includes awesome background arts , music , Suspense and right amount of gore . Protagonist has a stoic personality in a deranged world full of Demons . You can watch this with some of your lads , family. They won't scratch their respective heads or start instagraming when deep parts arrive.
80s anime movie .
Extremely Enjoyable. Watchable, several times in a year . The slow cinematography moves
& Makes you relax instead of cringe inducing jokes or eye popping, countinuos action today's anime movies delivers. Don't know, don't care to know any further about them .
The Killer (2023)
Literally me (Assassin 's creed, anyone?)
Fincher & Fassbender
What could possibly go wrong? Chuckles
The ending . Yep , the ending didn't hit well with me .
Many might call it extremely slow & dull . I wonder why Disney earned that much money in last decade , all thanks to them. Putting all those crybabies aside , from the opening slideshow to taking control of viewers attention via lonely monologue was absolutely required.
I imagine people were expecting a john wick type of thingy but they are disappointed because main character is a man of grey . He doesn't know whether he's good or bad . He doesn't care or he choses not to . Decides his own times of execution
&
Sticks to his own fundamentals. No edm music or mind boggling action but the epic action between Brute & main character was shot brilliantly. The cinematography becomes dark & the score becomes bass heavy . Really sets your teeth on edge. Thrilling. Even the escape scene from the police cars was greatly shot . Timid , fast paced, with Fassbender 's anxiety inducing breathing noises. Risky? Yes. Thrilling? Yes .
Taking Tilda as supporting role was calculative. She was the one who added charm & successfully lured but yeah got caught. Small roll, big impact. It was all about hyping up viewers paranoia by making Tilda just sit & talk nonsense . But it did paranoid me considering
Her acting.
The ending could have been much more vivid , Impactful instead of sublime. No hate for sublime ending but i think somewhat how Fincher pulled a punch . But beside it all , the writing is good . A character who is a contract killer is questioning. He isn't cocy neither he has any remorse. But Every line he is uttering is Harrowing true.
It's a good watch without massive
Plotholes like John wick enduring 3 cars directly hitting him or jason Statham driving his audi at 100 mph with his shirt & tied up hands. Come on millennials, dont lie . Far from perfect, but still good among mediocrity ..
"What are you doing among normies?"
Yep
That live action assassin creed (2014 or 2015) movie succed
This one , didn't .
Jujutsu Kaisen: Fluctuations (2023)
I like watching things imperfect as they are or sometimes they become , its cool wd me.
I loved it. I loved the episode.
From Manga to fans(overall every type of pop culture fandom , like Star wars , Game of thrones, Dragon Ball) (I took name of of the most salty FANDOM s of the world) ,we all know how human beings react to errors or slight fluctuations. They just loose their shizz.
Take JJk manga fans , oh . Nevermind.
I loved the episode
Anime is at its absolute peak . Anime studios have found the perfect mix of cinematic camera angles for action scenes. Back in my Naruto days character fights were hazy or foggy ,
Nowdays its just pure joy . Adrenaline thumping music with smooth fps.
Hit me with that Zen'in clan Dubstep again.
And yes , it makes 0 effect on me that this episoden was bit unfinished. I wrote this review just because of that reason.
The Continental (2023)
Too harsh , who? Peaky blinders UK fans
The good ) Yes . The atmosphere is good. Cinematography & camera angle s are cinematic. The action choreography is good. It shows the required amount of blood . All those disney+ & Prime shows do perform poorly when it comes to fighting & violence. Acting was great. Dig that serious tone & whatever weird tantra Mel Gibson was chanting. The musics are literally between every scene which takes the viewers to that time where this was happening. The ending when Gibson gets wrecked has a subtle twist so.. , it was good .I liked how they showed Winston, still a calm minded , calculative yet defenceless in the ending when the Antagonist dies by someone else. Call it luck , but i like those treats .
.
.
.
The bad ) Yes , good guys are unharmed by bullets & humongous physical damages . They fly & do weird jump . A character who was a soldier , who conned every one before he met a nam girl, CHOOSES TO DIES AT THE 30% OF THE STORY WHILE BEING RESCUED (LMAOOO!!) such poorly written character ! Now his little brother is a businessman but he has like plot defence (oh no every guy from hero's side has) except the funny guy. Funny guy dies . But hero wins with his pack unharmed. Its like bad guys have 2 braincells & the hero guys (I am crying in laughter while writing this review) are God 's blessings. Plus cops have no power like zero in this show . Police department is not even shown once. Yeah you get it. Its like those 2005 , 2006 action movies . There are no sad songs playing when bad things are happening (missed opportunity tbh)
.
.
.
The ugly) The ending was efed up , The bodyguard was adjudicators ex husband. He looked glad when she got wrecked . Bewildering! You don't saaaayyy..
They never made an effort to show us that how the coin making machine works
Show runs on emotions and not on logic / cause & effect.
No pumped up edm music like wick franchise has
Typical john wick franchise entry where HERO RUNS ON Revenge. No blood in their bodies ( doesn't die even when they get shot ) haha , lawyered!!!
STILL, I am giving it a 7.
Cause i liked it better than some kids shows ( Disney+) , typical humour shows (cringey) , historical (Netflix or documentaries on serial killer) , excessive gory shows with extravagant adultery ( boys & invincible) & HBO max's adaptation of famous writers fictional franchises .
