The Whale (2022)
One Over Bloated Whale!
Not bad but overrated...And as far as Brendan's performance was concerned it was all one dimensional...All he did was sit on his Butt for two hours and emoting sympathy.... If you're looking for sympathy you should look it up in the dictionary! A one trick pony this movie...
And the daughter was a total mess..I hated her character. Some humor could have helped to moderate the tedium
As I was watching this movie I felt it was originally a theatrical piece...As I always stay for the credits I found out that I was right! The hype for the movie comes purely from the publicist doing his job.
About enjoyable as having a root canal...
Eiffel (2021)
The title of the film is "Eiffel"...Not "The Eiffel Tower"
Eiffel is the last name of the builder...It is about the man who BUILT the tower and not about the structure!! Why people are judging it on not being about the building of the tower are missing the point of the film. Looking at it in from that perception I found it a very engrossing film.

A Movie About Human Being
Finally a film for adults. The main character is not the worst person in the world she is simply a humane being. Lots to put together and think about....
The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021)
Incredible...
What a fun film. The humor was clever and I even busted out laughing many times. The only thing I would do is cut it by five minutes near the end as it really gets too frantic. Otherwise this has to be up for the Best Animated Feature if there is an Academy Awards next year!

An Excellent Surprise
This is the gay movie that I have longed to see where the main characters gayness is merely incidental to the film. It's a story with many plots going and not about their sexuality.
The only problem I had was with the sound when they were inside the prison. They said much that I couldn't understand which might because of the acoustics within the prison walls.
Otherwise I give props to the creators who made such a daring film.

The biggest problem with this movie is that the lead actor, John Hansen, looks more like a man when he is a woman and he looks more like woman when he is a man...Go figure?

A Must For A Theatrical Musical Adaptation
This must be adapted into a stage musical. The characters and the situations cry out for musical numbers. And the young demographics are perfect for this material. We have "Mean Girls" and "Kinky Boots" why not this one...It's just so obvious!!!

This Must Be Brought To Your Attention...
Although this is a well made film with very noteworthy performances I am astounded that it IS A COPY of the film "Big Eyes"!!! And because I really liked "Big Eyes" and saw it FIRST I have to grade this movie lower than I would have normally.
It's like seeing "Obsession" first and then later seeing "Vertigo"!

Not My Type Of Movie...
BUT I found it very thrilling and a good piece of escapism. It's nothing more than a popcorn movie and why people would go to see it expecting anything more is a mystery to me! I saw it in Hollywood and the responses from the audience members were half of the fun.

Wonderful!
An actual portrayal of a middle age gay couple which is right on the mark. Witty (does this even exist anymore?) heartfelt and funny. I was more than satisfied with this film. No special effects needed!

Starts Out Promising...
The first quarter of this movie is actually quite good. Then it starts to spiral downward due to insipid actions done by the characters. If you're going to make a movie of this genre make it clever and original. A HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT!

Having been on a Gay cruise I can say most of this film is accurate but a LOT of other points of interest are left out. But the main problem with this film is that the five guys it focuses on are just plain incoherent.
