I'm a big fan of the James Bond movies. I watch them all the time. When it comes to the Bond Girls, Lea Seydoux ranks among my favorites. She's easily in my Top Five. She's one of the reasons I subscribe to The Criterion Channel. I figured that's probably the only place I would be able to find her movies. Seydoux is the reason I was interested in "The Beast". Seydoux does not disappoint. She's a great actress and very easy on the eyes. Seydoux is the reason I started the movie and the only reason I stuck it out until the end. "The Beast" Seydoux is very good and the movie looks good but it's really long and most of the time I didn't even know what was going. But you know what, I don't think I was supposed.
I didn't see "Secret Admirer" in the theater. I don't remember ever renting it. I did, however, see it quite a few times on cable. I watched it last night on Tubi for the first time in years and I enjoyed it. The cast is very likeable. If I had to pick a Best in Breed, it would be a pretty tough decision. Fred Ward is a lot of fun, C. Thomas Howell has charm to spare and Kelly Preston is wildly dreamy (with two topless scenes!). But if I really had to pick, I would have to go with Casey Siemaszko. Siemaszko is really funny in this movie. He steals ever scene he's in. The 1980's were a great decade for teen movies. "Secret Admirer" does rank with the best of that era but its definitely lands on the plus side of the ledger. (I watched this movie on Tubi.)
"Ballerina" was just what the doctor ordered. It's a fast moving movie that's filled with exciting action. The cast also does a fine job. "Ballerina" is a good looking movie with great colors. It's very stylish visually. "Ballerina" is, however, not for the faint of heart. There is a meanness to this movie that I could have done without. Sure, it's tame compared to a lot of other movies but I still wished that they toned that stuff down a little bit. With the exception of those brief moments, I had a good time with "Ballerina". (I watched this movie on Netflix".) (IMDB has a 600 character minimum.)
