Skunk (2023)
Very strong portrait !
The local theatre gave 1 screening of this movie.
They warned us. There are some strong images.
Not bloody, but the violence is very real.
We see the story of the 17 y old boy who comes from a violent home.
Drug, sex and violence..... The actors who play his parents are doing such a good job. But it couldn't have been easy to do this.
Liam gets placed out of home where apparently youth delinquents and youth victims end up in the same place.
And this gives serious problems. There's also two clans. White and black form clans who compete.
There are only three therapists who need to get these kids straightened out.
You see that Liam has a good side. But life only makes him show the bad side. And he has a way of making sure people avoid him.
The movie perfectly show the complexity of these real situations.
Society is very quick on judging, but everyone needs to see this.
Just to see that nothing is black and white.
WHY do some young people commit crimes ? Because life never gave them chances.
The movie does not jedge.
It does not excuse their behavior.
It shows it as it is.
Thibaud Dooms is SO good.
This is a talent we need to watch in the future.
Just like Ex-Drummer, also by Koen Mortier, this is also a portrait of people who live a violent life. But this movie is so much better.
Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)

No idea. Absolutely no idea why this movies gets such low ratings. Because people miss Belucci ? No reason to duslike a movie.
Like this one more than the first one.
The story makes sense. The music is so much better too.
Even with John lee Hooker in the first, this one wins all the time.
I have seen this one do many times and I never get tired of watching it.
John Goodman is the best they could have asked for this role.
And the All Star band The Louisiana Gator Boys at Queen Moussette : WOW ! Especially now with do many of them gone, the verdion of "How Blue can you get" that they play gives me goosebumps. Classic.

Some will confuse a movie with a documentary. It is not.
Does it deserves to be called bad because not everything is accurate ? No.
I enjoyed every moment of it. And so did the people who came with me. Great scenary, and the majestic classical music adds to the feeling.
Too bad people seem to find satisfaction in finding bad things in everything.
Don't let those people colour your judgement.
He portraits Napoleon with good irony. The exaggeration of his accomplishments to hide his minority complex.
Sometimes almost a bit charicature of the man.
I was most entertained by this movie.

Fun with gore !
I had fun watching this.
Just sit down, relax and watch.
A short movie of this kind, makes that there are no boring or dead minutes. Every second something happens. That's the good thing about short movies like this.
The gore was well done. You can see Ron and his friends had just as much fun in making this as I had when I watched it. The scene in the shower with the cearture trying to come out of his belly was a good effect !
The blood, vomit, all the rest. Nothing was left to your imagination. ;)
Just once you could see the glove, but I can easily get over that.
Camerawork and sound was also good. Also only good things to report there.
But maybe it was only a dream.....

I always loved Eric Van Looy's debut movie.
All the good young actors from the early nineties where present. Funny how they can all play the dads now these days.
Belgian studentlife as it is. New student hazing gone wrong. The innocenceof some. The feeling of having power over them by others. Whatever some might say, this happens in real life. Not always, but still
It still gets to me..Real characters. Real situations.
People who are easy victims. Other people who always have their daddy to fix it.
But ever since the death Belgian of student Sanda Dia during a hazing ritual in 2018, this movie will never be the same.

SO good
Very well made. Very well acted. Not in the least by Ken Stott. Neil Dudgeon makes it a bit more bearable with his light humor. Real humans having to deal with heavy subjects. Gets under your skin. Wished there were more of them made....

This group of friends, aren't real friends anymore and it is excruciating to watch them. Really had to turn off this movie because their energy was getting to me.

Heartbraking
Didn't know the story.
This was deep. Emotional for whoever dates to look deep inside.
And whoever days this was a missed opportunity, is too afraid to do exactly that last thing !
This story is real for a lot of people.
Take more care of each other !

Much more emotional than other crime series. Lots of caring and attention towards victims and their families.
Together with Line of Duty one of my favorite crime series of the last 10 years !

Not bad.
The movie thrives on the name of Blair Witch, but is completely different. So do not expect the same type of movie.
But it is not as bad as the reviews here let you think.
If you see the review rating sometimes, I wonder how people rate a movie. The original got a 6, while that was a VERY good movie.
The music is good. Never gets boring.
Watch this and think for yourself.

Poltergeist (2015)
Nice movie but....
If you did not grow up with the original and are quite new to it, your going to like this new movie.
The problem is : if you know the original movies very well, you start noticing this very quickly : they made a checklist of scenes from all 3 that they wanted to incorporate into this version. As if they feel obliged to include certain scene's to make it a poltergeist movie. And that makes this remake missed opportunity.
Remakes...... never saw the reason to. Except making easy money.
