The Second Age of Aquarius (2021)
Such a groovy movie!
I loved this. Fun, a little silly, well worth watching and an awesome concept.
Who would you bring back from the past via a computer program if you could?
In this film Russell Aquarius is brought back to life by Alberta Stevens, who has obsessed over him since her Grandmother was a massive fan.
I won't unravel the rest of the plot, you should go see this one or buy/hire it online, sit back and enjoy some light hearted fun.
The writers, director, production team and the actors were clearly an amazing team who work so well together.
Again - see it any way you can, in all its awesomeness....
P. S: Michael Ursu who plays Russell is pretty easy on the eye too!
Hot Fuzz (2007)
One of my top 5 favourite movies
I LOVE this movie, have watched it at least 20 times and it cracks me up every single time and there's always something new I pick up on.
Fetish Factory (2017)
Well that was different... :D In a good way :D
Ok - so I am not into horror movies which is probably just as well - because this was more comedy than horror - whew!
I would probably have liked to have seen a bit more of the 'between the burlesque performance and zombies' - ie: the fetish part of it - explored, as I enjoyed the characters of the 'men' with the fetishes...
In all though - the makeup was great for the zombies, the filming was very much 'first person' type filming and not a huge cinematic production - which I like - the 'first person' type really gets you involved with the story in my opinion.
The comedic references that a lot of folk may miss, were great, and the actors obviously worked well with the script and direction given by Staci Layne Wilson.
Having seen short works by Wilson previously, I was keen to see this movie and was not disappointed :D
So Burlesque, Fetishes and Zombies all in one movie? Did it work? YES.... Well done all - it was different, enjoyable and I will watch it again sometime soon!
The Greatest Showman (2017)
Brilliantly executed piece of cinema
The Greatest Showman is a fabulously directed, filmed, edited and acted piece of cinema with a musical component that couldn't be more perfect.
Having seen it at least half a dozen times so far, I pick up on something new every time that leaves me even more enamored with the entire package.
I personally don't think a better cast could have been chosen with all suiting their roles to a T.
I most definitely recommend that anyone who wants to be transported to another time and life, get themselves comfortable and settle in for a couple of hours of entertainment that will leave you with some wonderful earworms you will no doubt hum for days....
The Key to Annabel Lee (2011)
Enjoyable and well done!
I was really impressed with how this came together and am sure that the producer and writer must be pleased with it too. A collection of wonderful actors, locations and props - makeup was fabulous and as an independent and 'unique' production - it is one that I have found myself picking up something new in each viewing. I will be keen to keep up with this writer and producer and see what comes out in the future! It may not be everyones cup of tea - however if you want something 'different' and 'artsy' - look no further. Wilson is a talented writer - I have read her fiction and non fiction works and have always been impressed. She has a wide range of subject matter and an obviously very creative mind.
Ghost Town (2009)
Not fantastic, but not completely terrible...
Well, this isn't a movie I would go and choose to rent and take home or purchase .... so kind of glad it was on free to air TV! The acting was ... well, they did the best they could with the script they had I guess! lol... Sorry to the writer - it could have been a lot better than it was - however the basic outline wasn't bad. The special effects (for the most part) and camera work made it watchable - but but is not a movie I would go 'oh yes I want to watch that again).... I am guessing that the cast and crew enjoyed the experience and the editing was well done - everything was pretty smoothly put together. It was what I would have expected of a B grade semi-horror/thriller movie... good effort guys... despite my comments - it was a reasonable way to pass a couple of hours (by the time free to air TV sticks in the adverts!).... :D
