Quarry was a one and done, a one season wonder that came and went unceremoniously. Having caught a glimpse of an episode, I then decided to add m it to my list of things I'll never get around to.
Cut to eight years later and I'm finally binge watching the entire season in a weekend. It just sucks you into its immaculately reconstructed early 70's period, with its excellent soundtrack and costumes, not to mention interesting characters, who do terrible things, but you care about them regardless.
It's truly a shame that a well told story, such as this, a unique piece of art in the vast wasteland of TV shows, must end due to financial reasons, lack of viewers. I know it could have found the viewers eventually. I would welcome a chance to see where they all went next.

The Suicide Squad was hands down the greatest cinematic triumph of 2021, no lie. I enjoyed that movie way too much. It hit on so many levels. It scratched my inner comic book nerd, it was inventive and hilarious. I watched it three times already. James Gunn is a genius. So when he made this show centered around Peacemaker, I kind of worried he might wander into overkill territory, but no way, Gunn has more than enough ideas to maintain an entire series about this goofy superhero/villain/hot mess. Peacemaker just like a proper continuation of the movie. It's seemless and beyond awesome as hell.
This clearly cements John Cena as a comedic genius, but I have to acknowledge Steve Agee as John Economos and Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase / Vigilante. Both bring a lot of laughs but also some unexpected pathos.
This wild and crazy series is returning for a second season at some point and I couldn't be more happy if I tried. As long as the level of quality is maintained, everyone will be happy.

Mayans M. C. is a spinoff of Sons of Anarchy, set in the years following the events at the end of that series. Comparisons are natural and expectations were high, but this show delivers, big time. Unlike Sons of Anarchy, which meandered along the first few seasons, this show dives headlong into its own lore to come roaring out of the gate right away.
It has that perfect mix of melancholy tragedy and action that fans of Sons of Anarchy will recognize. These guys make all the wrong moves and doom themselves and others to even more of the same. Their lives are spiraling but it makes for gripping TV.
Love that there is so much crossover with Sons of Anarchy characters. Not at first, but slowly that appear. Makes you feel right at home.
I've only just binged the first two seasons as of this writing, but really anticipating the next. Can't see why this wouldn't be welcomed by Sons of Anarchy fans, it's a great continuation within the same universe.
