Gotham Knights (2022)
Mixed feelings
So, this will be my first game review on IMDB and what a great way to start with one you have mixed feelings about.
To start I have loved all of the Arkham Batman games. This has a similar feel. The graphics are pretty good, and the story line is decent and like that they are touching on all things Batman. I guess with my mixed feelings come in is the fact that after a few hours of playing and doing side missions and roaming the city of Gotham, it gets pretty repetitive. Now that might be a small complaint to some, but for me even though there is plenty of content to keep you busy, which is great it does just feel like busy work. I want the game to have content yes, but I would like it to have variety too. What I found was getting tired of doing the same patrol missions over and over, leading me to just want to finish the main story as fast as I could.
I am not saying this game is bad in any sense, I did enjoy the story and the open world of Gotham. I just after putting in some hours found me wanting to rush to get to the important parts and be done with it.
Cocaine Bear (2023)
Yogi Bear All Grown Up haha
Well, I must start by saying this film was better than anticipated. Considering that it was done by the same people who made Sharknado. I was totally expecting corny and under budget film making. Do not get me wrong this was not an award-winning film by any means but definitely entertaining.
I felt that I was going to lose interest really fast with watching a bear high on cocaine for 90 minutes, I was wrong. It definitely keeps you interested throughout, and the back stories were decent enough to make you want to keep watching. There is definitely some decent humor in this film, which in my opinion is something to expect in a film with the title and this kind of based on true story film adaptation. I think the fact that they managed to some decently known actors and actresses help this film get above the 3 out of 10-star rating people were thinking it might get.
I think this film is definitely worth the watch, whether you're into true story films even though it is exaggerated on the true story side of it, or if you're just wanting to watch something that you don't have to focus on intently and just want to have a good time. Obviously with really needing to say this I would not sit down with your children to watch it, maybe give it a screening first and be the judge, even though it is not to overboard the obvious drug use and violence might be too much for little ones.
Hope you enjoy and find my review somewhat helpful.
Fall (2022)
DONT LOOK DOWN
Well folks if you hate heights, you'll definitely be sitting at the edge of your seats with this one. This movie definitely has it lows but does have its highs.
The Opening of the film sets the tone for the whole film. They are climbing on a cliff side and the main leads husband has an accident during the climb and falls to his death. Leaving the main lead struggling with grief and dealing with her lose. Almost a year later her friend comes to visit and tries to get her to go one an amazing adventure climb one of the biggest structures in America. During their climb you can tell bad things were going to happen one after another. Which of course they do. I won't divulge and more spoilers I would rather you enjoy them for yourselves.
This film holds on to suspense very well, but I will say Some of the scenes if you a climber are definitely unbelievable and farfetched. With that being said if you can look past all that this movie does deliver. I would definitely recommend this film to anyone you is into the survival and suspense genre. I would watch this movie again for sure and would even possibly own it in my movie collection.
Sick (2022)
Masks Required
I will Start of by Say that I was more impressed than I thought I was going to be. I Seriously thought I was going to give this film a 2 star at best when I read about it or even a DNF. This film actually kept me entertained throughout most of it. At the beginning I was not sure how Covid was going to fit into the plot line at all. I just thought "Oh here we go with another covid based film just because it is a hot topic". But the way they integrated it into the premise of the Film was actually nice. The only reason I gave it 6 stars many is because of just the common slasher/horror tropes, the jump scares were obvious. I still enjoyed this movie though. If you like Suspense and slasher films you will probably get a kick out of this one. When I decide to do a review for a film, I ask myself 2 questions at the end 1. Would I want to buy this movie to own it, and 2. Would I watch this film again. I would say I would definitely watch this film again, but i do not think I would go Out of my way to buy it.
M3GAN (2022)
NOT THE WORST
This film was a nice refresh, even though there has been many movies with this synopsis this is one of the ones that didnt feel corny. The build up and back story of the characters where very well places. I wish there was more of megan attacking but that's just one in my opinion. If I had to compare this to any more in the last few years the one that comes to mind would be the new chucky movie which was horrible, this one did not disappoint at all. With the way technology keeps advancing in our world it wont be long till there is probably some form of toy or household appliance that would have the capability of megan. Just without the killing hahaha. All in all good movie not the best but would recommend a watch.
My Best Friend's Exorcism (2022)
Close but Short
I have sat on this review for a minute thinking what to rate this and middle of the road is the best I can come up with. I have read the book and honestly, I would recommend the book over the movie. The movie left out even very small details that I felt were vital to make you want to relate and care about the characters, but the buildup wasn't there in the film. The 80's Nostalgia was good, and it was still a decent movie. I just wish that they added an extra 30 minutes and made the film a full 2 hours. It could have made the difference. You miss out on seeing the friendship of the 2 main characters build from the start and then fall apart and then rebuild toward the end. Not only did they leave out some solid information, but they also changed a lot of the main plot to, and the ending was not as gripping as the book was. I would still recommend this Film but if you are wanting to read the book and see the movie, I solidly recommend watching first and then reading that way you enjoy the movie a little more than I did.
Hellraiser (2022)
Booo another reboot
I feel I must start by saying I was not a fan of the original Hellraiser. So, this Review might be a little bias, but I will try and give an honest review.
I know that the original was great to some just because of the imagination and dark origin of the film. Like I said I was never a fan of the original but as a horror fanatic I give it respect. As for this one I was expecting that maybe a reboot would allow me to enjoy the series better and well just like all the reboots in the past few years, it falls short. The acting was mediocre at best, and the story line was lacking. The only thing that could potentially save this movie would be a fresh start and a new generation of horror fan to love this film. Not saying that pinhead couldnt be changed but the changes were not fitting, and the voice layover just did not fit. The ending was left questionable and that is really what I rate many movies on. I can warrant a good score if the last 30 minutes of a movie really impresses me, but this just didn't do it for me. I would not recommend unless you are a diehard fan and was interested in the new revamp, I was really looking forward to some solid films for the Halloween season but so far, no luck.
Halloween Ends (2022)
The END????
This film was decent enough to rate it 7, but there are some negatives for the film still. If you are a fan of the franchise, then I am sure you have seen the season of the witch. Which this had very similar vibes only difference is Michael is actually in this film. Only negative is he really is not the focal point of the film and really only get one solid scene with him which at the end. With that being said it is still a good movie and definitely plays to the lure. I am hoping this is the last but there are already 3 different timelines to the franchise. I will say if this is truly the end it was ended well but there is still potential for more Halloween films but no guarantee that Michael will be the main component. The only other thing I feel I must mention is that this takes place 4 years after Halloween Kills, I just want to know what Michael was doing for those 4 years, I feel as though that could be touched on more Maybe in an extended edition on release that talks on that topic. If you are a fan of the series and have liked what they have done I would recommend and if you are just looking for a good movie for the spooky season of Halloween I would Recommend.
Dog (2022)
Channing Does It Again
Let's just start with the fact this movie was great. It has it funny moments, heartwarming moments, and will definitely have you in your feels. This is the third movie that I have watched that is of the similar genre and it is as good as all the rest. It will have you loving every minute of it. I would definitely recommend this movie for dog lovers, Military members, and really anyone that is looking for movie that is sentimental. I will say even though I did laugh at some parts I do wish there was some more comedy to support the sad moments in the film to help lift your emotions after, but I loved this movie and would definitely watch it again.
It (2017)
Great Reimagining
This film had everything I was hoping for. As a huge Stephen King fan and reading a lot of his books, this is what I wanted. Sure, there were somethings that could have been better but overall, this was a great movie. Definitely if you compare the original TV adaptation to this one, there is nothing that rebuttals that this was better. The suspense and terror put on screen was exactly as it should have been. This film was great and if you are a horror fan like me this will definitely make you happy. If you were not afraid of clowns before this will definitely make you hate them now. Definite recommend.
The War with Grandpa (2020)
Hilarious Movie
This movie had me laughing the whole time. This is definitely a movie I would watch again. It definitely hit my funny bone. I would recommend this movie to anyone, and it is a great family movie. Definitely a must see.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022)
Fun for the Whole Family
This installment of Sonic was great. It was nice having the other characters in the film. This one was just as good if not better than the first. It is a great family movie and would recommend.
The Wrong Missy (2020)
The Wrong Movie
I am a huge David Spade fan, but this movie was awful. The humor in this film was stupid, and honestly annoying. I would not recommend this film to anyone. This film was truly lacking in all aspects in my opinion, but if you are looking for stupid humor then I would say you might find some enjoyment out of this film. This one was just not for me.
Home Team (2022)
Not Bad, Not Great
This film was better than I thought it would be but was not one of the greats by far. Kevin James did a good job. The story line was your typical sport film. Even though it was not the greatest film I have seen in a while it was worth the watch, but for me it was a one and done.
Hustle (2022)
Not what I was Expecting
This movie was fantastic. Adam Sandler did an amazing job. I was a little Skeptical because of the serious role he was playing, just because I did not like the serious role in Uncut Gems, but he really did well in this. Even though the comedy of the film was not what I would expect from a Happy Madison Production this film works. It is inspirational and hit all the points a good movie should hit. If you are a basketball fan you will love this movie and if you are not basketball or even a sport fan, I believe you will still find enjoyment in this movie. Definitely would recommend.
Scream (2022)
Here We Go Again
Even though I did enjoy this movie, I think it is time to stop. I have no problem with this movie other than the fact that it is getting into the realm of all other Slashers, the first couple are good entertaining and enjoyable but by the time you hit 4, 5, 6, they start to lose their magic. The violence in the film definitely is an upgrade to all other scream movies, the Story line was decent but not great, and they even stated in this film about requels. This film definitely falls into that category, they still bring in classic characters but set up for new characters to take the spotlight. I have already seen that a Scream 6 is Slated to come out and I am not very excited with that just due to how this film ended and the story line they built for future installments. If you are a fan of this Franchise, it will definitely hit satisfaction, but I would come to believe you will feel the same way as i have about the future of this series.
Ambulance (2022)
Cops, Robbers, Repeat
This film is your classic heist movie only difference is adding an ambulance. The acting was to be expected okay. The action sequences were your typical Michael Bay action. I feel the movie was way longer than it needed to be and that they kept adding more and more parts to the story line then needed. If you are a fan of Michael Bay films, then you would probably enjoy this movie but there is not solid story line worth getting sucked into and its literally a 2 hour long ambulance chase. If you want action and just that this is the film for you.
Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Totally worth the hype
As a fan of the Jurassic Park Saga, this movie delivers. It was a great installment to the Jurassic World films. It truly hit the mark with reintroducing the original Cast and was definitely done right. If you are a Fan of the movies this is definitely one to see. There are a couple slow moments but definitely pays off in the end. Even though I did enjoy this movie and would recommend it to anyone, I just hope they end the Series here. The ending was Perfect and did not leave any open-ended questions and I think if they did try to continue the series it would just ruin it and would not really have a story to give. If you are looking for a movie that is action/adventure packed and safe for the whole family I would suggest going to see this film.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
WHYYYYY, Hard fail
I already had a rough time with this movie when I heard it was coming out just because of the time frame between the last film. Man was I right. Matrix is one of those Classic Sci-Fi Trilogies and it should have been left that way. It was not what I was expecting and I'm sure others felt the same. To keep it short I will leave it with this and say might as well cancel 1, 2, and 3 because it rewrites all the lore behind the original trilogy, and basically makes Resurrections a new story line.
The Contractor (2022)
Left Wanting More
Well this Film is pretty Cookie Cutter as far as Formula goes. It's definitely not the first of its kind. It was entertaining and kept me watching but when the credits rolled I was left feeling empty and wanting more from this film. Definitely with the Cast it had. Worth the one time watch but probably wouldn't watch it again for awhile and definitely would have to be in the mood to enjoy it.
The Batman (2022)
Waste of Time
I have no idea what Warner Bros. Was thinking. This is Probably ones of the worst batman films i have ever seen. Between the costume choice and the story line. Robert Pattinson was probably the last person I would of choose for the role of Batman, and the Film even shows why. The dialog is lacking and the story line is horrible. I am so glad I watch this film on HBO Max instead of spending movie to see it in the theater. I would not recommend this film to anyone let alone a fan of DC or Batman. What a total disappointment.
The Adam Project (2022)
Two Thumbs Up
This is one of those Netflix movies that I have enjoyed. Not that there are many in my opinion Netflix is a hit or miss most of the time. This one is definitely a hit. It is an original idea as far as I know Have not really seen anything to similar that I can compare it to. This hits all the emotional points it will have you laughing all the way to sadness. I would recommend this movie to everyone if you have not seen it yet. Definitely a Netflix movie I keep on my watchlist.
Interceptor (2022)
Amateur at Best
I will start by saying that like most Netflix films they are hit and miss. This one was close to being a miss. The action scenes were alright and the story line was not all the original. Its very cookie cutter formula and have seen better movies with the same concept. The Political add-ons also were not needed. The main Actress' back story I think could of been left out and did not have that much of an impact in the story. I would go as far as saying i recommend this film, but if you are looking for some action and have nothing better to watch maybe give it a chance. You might have a little different view than I.
The Lost City (2022)
Comedy/Adventure Gold
This was the first Film I went to go see in Theaters since the pandemic and I Have no regrets. Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum did great together. There were somethings that I could of done without but it did not hinder the film at all. I was laughing the whole time while watching. I would recommend this to anyone who likes comedies or any of the leading actors/actresses. You will not be disappointed.
Uncharted (2022)
Great adaptation
Uncharted is Good if you are a fan of the games and love Action/Adventure Films, but with that said if you are a fan of the games you will think the casting was wrong. Tom Holland did a great job, but I do not really see him being Nathan Drake. The same goes for Mark Wahlberg, he played the role right but do not see him as Sully. Both Characters are young for the roles they were casted for. I did enjoy this movie either way. I would recommend this movie with a little bit of advise saying to not compare to much to the game.
