Journeyman (2007)
Every Episode Gives New Reasons to Watch
There is very little I dislike about this show. The characters are very engaging. The weekly story lines are great but the story lines carried throughout the series are even better. Each week you learn a little bit more about the "why and how" but only enough to wet your appetite for the next week's installment. What's even better is the character's understanding of what's happening and their coming to terms with the situation they're dealt is similar to the ride you are taking as a viewer, which bonds you with them even quicker. I've heard this show has had trouble finding an audience. My hope is the network can keep this one around for awhile.
Fortress (1985)
Best Final Scene Ever
This movie stays with you. I think about it at least a couple times a year, every year for the last 17. It really makes you think "how would I react under similar circumstances?" The performances by the kids are great as is that by the teacher. But the best scene of all is the way they close the movie - it's very dis-"heartening".
The Surreal Life (2003)
Corey Feldman is good TV
Corey Feldman finally found an avenue for his talent. Provided his talent is being a self absorbed loser! This show is fantastic. It is the perfect thing for helping you feel better about your own life. Gabrielle is sweet and seems to have a clue, Hammer is hammer, and Vince, surprisingly, supplies some very touching moments. I can't wait for next week.
Waiting for Godot (2001)
Compelling and annoying at the same time
I will confess to having never seen the play or for that matter ever hearing of this story. I will also confess that I did not see the film from the beginning so I really have no clue to what it is about BUT that being said "Waiting for Godot" is a very intriguing film. If you are a fan of pure dialog this is a must see, or should I say "a must listen" because the visuals are not that important. My only complaint is that it does take some effort on the part of the viewer. This is not something you watch casually. If you do you will be lost!
Hidden Hills (2002)
Give it a chance
I heard some early negative comments on this show so I thought I'd check it out for myself. I was pleasantly surprised. The production quality may be a bit "1st season Ally McBeal"-ish but it seems to work here. The adult eye candy is great without hampering the story lines and the lack of attention to the kids as a story line is fantastic! I think this is a good ADULT sitcom that so far doesn't seem to be falling victim to the "Must Please Everyone or You're Canceled" mentality of most networks. Hopefully it will last past the first season. I'm curious as to where it will go. One thing it has in its favor is that it's not on ABC
