The Midnight Sky (2020)
Heartfelt story, bit slow, but compelling
The story takes a while to get you hooked and isn't very fast, but it is riding on your emotion and you learn about the characters. The elements of the enviroment were pretty alright but there is no need to focus on that on this movie because th epeople are what makes it intriguing as well as not everything being spelled out for you, you have to listen to the music and some dialogue, and it isn;t like now in days movies where they repeat things an absurd amount and try to make it as imple as possble. My favorite character you find within the first twenty minutes is the old man, and I am glad the amount of time we got to see and understand him.
Love Deadline (2024)
Reality show sweetarts, give pure love a chance
All people who participate in this show were great personalities, people who really wanted to be there for right reasons. Small and not trivial drama, nothing made up plus with news like reporter watcher hosts who commentate but not annoyingly but more of just recap. The camera work isn't bad, they probably didnt always use stabalizers but it isn't obnoxiously looked at because it is such a sweet easy going show. The girls and boys are direct, probably from the time restriction so they do not want to waste time. There isn't any overly nude or anything like that, occurrence. Just sweet talking hanging out gestures.
Resurrected Rides (2024)
Amazing, resurrecting dreams!
Amazing humor they are uncensored, authentically themselves, and giving people who need it extra help. There were previous shows about pimpin rides, with dudes with grey hair, and while they were amazing at pimpin rides for people who have the money I think these professionals in this show know a good amount, and have good screen prescense addressing Netflix, audience, and including the film crew sometimes. Their interactions with eachother makes me think they might be friends, sometimes a little unclear because they could be close coworkers from many different backrounds. I think the customers are pretty alright aswell, their demands are a bit much sometimes but its awesome to see their vision come to life and know a little about them as well. I hope season two happens for the main colored dude speaks person.
Amityville Ripper (2023)
Indie, homeade
Hilariously and bad at the same time, some scenes should of hadded retakes, but I love the intro with the many media relevant ads. The movie poster is amazing , this movie is such a comedy at how bad it was. There isn't much to say about the movie . Other than that it was ok, and if you are looking for a horror movie unlike others, this is interesting. With a probably low budget, you get unrestricted free ideas of young movie developers and directors. I think the idea and doing inside the movie was pretty alright. A comedy for inside october, or in the backround of a party. It also felt like people didn't know their lines by heart.
Citadel: Diana: Split in two (2024)
Sci-fi,spy,lies
Double agent woman with flashbacks that builds story while getting you hooked with intrigue at the most interesting parts by playing them first and explaining later. The woman also has a stylish signiture hair due, showing powerful and sheek with uneven sides. She looks like the people you would see (jenna ortega, and screen queens). Throughout the episode we get backround information while introducing her life currently. It isn't confusing or take too long, as it is a show and not a movie not too much happens in it story wise, but events to introduce plot later on is included. We also hear about the big bad, weapon.
IF (2024)
Watch Garfield or the purple crayon movie over this
The purple big blob guy has the most annoying voice, I understand she is thirteen and she wants to act grown up, such a trope or that she wants friends after her parents are dead. Steve Carell was in it his voice is most reckoniseable. They kept trying to empower the girl, the creatures looked almost as good as goosebumps. I think the coolest scene was where she used her imagination to remodel the imagination hub area. And, near the begining there was a part where the man is talking to an IF in a little girl's bedroom. That's just creepy that scene wasn't trying to be but for a man to be sneaking around the little girl room talking to himself. And then climbing out the window in the middle of the night. Just isn't a good scene.
Hotel Del Luna (2019)
Death drama romance, interesting great effects
Love all Dell rune's outfits very glamorous. I like that it also talks about death in a more positive light even if the boss is suppose to be ruthless. I think it can be a little silly with the special effects, with watery blood. I like they also created a semi new universe reality, with perhaps some inspiration from myth, christianity and hinduism etc many more. With the many levels of afterlife, heaven, and underground. There is also rebirth depending on how good or bad they were in life. It is also comforting about the middle of the worlds hotel for ghosts. A similiar show is the Good place.
Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)
Good ending if it is the last one
Never saw the previous ones except the very first movie. You get to see every previous enemy possibly , in a good closure ending as they are dead and glowing from the after life. It also creates a loop with a new predassestor for the dragon warrior. I always like Jackblack's roles and he is an amazing person in real life. I think this would definetly be the great way to end everything. There wasn't a lot of master shifu but it was nice to group everyone back but I am glad we get to see the other dragon warriors like the snake and tigress, the sotrk and the tiny green mantress. I am gladd they didn't replace a bunch of them for a new team.
The Dark Tower (2017)
Goofs in language?
Apparently theres a book for this movie. Very cool, I like the begining scene with the two tweens where after scvhool one is like lets go. And then says wanna hangout meanwhile alreadys going up to one of their's houses.
Later on the boy is sent through a portal and Walter talks to someone of that portal district. The man who is being questioned and says I will find him before Walter even says it was a boy and then they identify the blood being from a boy.
Really cool beat up montages. And lore about the dark tower. But man was it funny when he said you killed my mom and then that makes them launch their super weapon. So dumb, such a bad retort then to lose.
Longlegs (2024)
Reflection, too hyped, unsubstancial, skip this.
: We began watching the movie and we find out the girl is an FBI worker. The
camera angles overall are active and close on the FBI girl, with over the shoulder shots. The
movie overall was complicated, yet not. It is super hard to remember anything in order besides
some major moments. The movie amped up moments that led to nothing and didn't show
anything. Often, her FBI bosses are curious why she knows things when she arrives at work. To
solve the case better she visits her mother so she could ask about her childhood birthday, the
Teske 2
mother refuses, so she brings photos from her room, looks through them, and then there's a
'jumpscare' of high, loud, unchecked, ear hurting trumpets and horror music that lasted for five
to ten seconds too long. The main lead girl finds her mom aiming a shotgun at her childhood doll
that looks like herself. The mom shoots it, there is a broken black ball releasing the smoke. The
main girl faints. And remembers everything. About how her mom made a deal with the white
curly hair dude who gave her the doll, therefore cursing them to all die so the mom made a deal
to protect her family and kid. The deal included taking it from the doll maker, giving it to a
family with a kid having a birthday, getting it inside the house, watching them die, or making
sure they die. She has done this since her daughter's 14th birthday to keep her alive. Then the
mom was doing this for her daughter's boss's daughter. Throughout the film,'the man under
stairs' is referenced trying to connect its religion, with some triangles throughout the film. At the
boss's home the girl's boss' family greets her at the door and her mother is inside and so is the
doll of the couple's kid. She cannot get sense into the family, and ends up shooting the father
who killed his wife and shooting her mom. She grabs the kid and gets out of the home, leaving
us on a cliffhanger for the movie. This ending seems lazy, but good special effects for the blood
everywhere. We were annoyed she didn't shoot the doll's head to release everyone from the
curse, saving more of the family. I believe the mother from all the trauma she endured was
convinced her daughter would be killed by the weirdo. Keeping all the trauma to herself; having
completely convinced herself that her and her family would never be safe, that she had to keep
up the charade even after the weirdo died. I think there could be some good psychological things
to examine during the film on the mother, the daughter, and why the weirdo is so weird. That is
what I thought during the entire film.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024)
Reflection, between the beetlejuice franchise
The movie itself is the sequel to Beetlejuice, a movie made back in 1988. Both directed or
assisted by Tim Burton, scattered around with his dark aesthetic. His way of writing is more
creative and really tells a story that doesn't follow a pre thought of plan narrative we see in
action movies today. Watching these two movies I found them to have similar storylines, in the
aspect that you don't really know what to expect, even if you know the characters, with or
without the trailer because they try not to actually spoil what will happen in the movie. It has a
main plot with about two side plots that will be answered. Usually when there is a sequel people
judge it harsher, and I was ready to call it a cash grab but as I watched I saw they paid attention
to our favorite characters like Bob, a shrunken head in the end of the first one. He became a star
character throughout the second one and got his own memorial writing in the credits. We had the
same horny Beetlejuice who was technically a villain but a loveable ally with his monologue in
his marriage during the film. They had Danny Devito do a small part, in the beginning as a
plump suicidal custodian who unleashed Beetlejuice's ex cult wife soul sucker, which turned out
to be more of a side plot. With the main plot being Lydia, the previous child survivor for the first
Teske 2
movie, her family and her daughter Astrid. Lydia, now an adult, has repressed trauma and won't
even say anything about her youth creating separation between her and her daughter. As for the
sets of the film, they tried to maintain things from the first film and continued on with what we
knew such as the book of death, the woman with her art pieces, and the beloved house the first
one took the majority of the film in. Another scene that was memorable was the house in a black
veil, during the father's memorial of Astrid's dad. I think this was comedic if you paid attention
and realized it wasn't black paint from the previous movie. It is mentioned in the memorial scene
about how the spiritual mother is allowing the house to transition and grieve just like them. The
story overall was the same pace as the first one. I think there was more focus on emotions, and
getting over trauma or facing it because once the demon was out, Beetlejuice, Lydia started
facing her fears and revisiting the horrors of the underground. The recently famous child star
Jenna Ortega was in Wednesday the show, and her characters seem to be similar and she might be
getting type casted as quiet moody teenage youth. I found the girl only school with bullying to
her character to be not entirely needed but still a funny moment where her family came to her
school to tell her they needed to move and her grandfather is dead. They also had an incredible
clay animation scene about the death of the grandfather that is jarring from the main action
plotline. It reminds me of Coraline, I would much prefer their high effort of claymation over 2D
animation. The movie included comedic cgi with how the BeetleJuice's ex wife sucked the souls
of ghosts making them squished pancake bodies along with when Bob's soul is taken his eyes
pop. A lot of the movie is cartoonish gore which I think goes along with the franchise with how
they celebrate death in a light mood on how terrible things aren't as terrible as you think. This is
also the background theme for Wednesday, and the Adams family.
Juniper (2021)
Would watch again
This is a good sweet story, I should of expected this from the begining with the grandmother and having only few other main characters in it. But If you liked this watch end of the Fing world, is a good show aswell. Similiar in mental aspects like wtih the young boy. Its a unique interesting story and bond, the young boy reminds me of tate from the american horror story aswell. The scenery is nice aswell, I think this is what people need to hear more about and think of death differently. I like a scene where the boy allows a bottle to be thrown at his head, and a silly moment about alchol and youth in another part.
Les roseaux sauvages (1994)
Teenage discovery
If you didn't already figure out, this is in French. I read the subtitles the entire time and found this enjoyable a bit like parasyte. Acting is a little cringy sometimes but more on the part of the writing and leading of actions. It just couldn't be casual said. The chemistry and relationships are complex but won't lose you most likely. To me the video photography is alright, I could definitely see the effort when they shine light and color the boys differently with saturation in some scenes to make them pop out. Do not watching this youth, more teens and older. Lots of kissing, and main focus on teen romance.
Cemitério (2024)
skip it, watch ncis
This was a good begining with photos and making it sad with dead bodies of the victims. But I cant love the narration deep voice grandpa. It was hard to watch, dunno who I should even root for, like who even was the real maincharacter. I guess the cops but I couldnt find too much to care for them because they sent in a woman to be talked to by a suspect cop. And, of course they didnt mention anything to the women of why she was with someone who hurt her. It just didn;t make sense, probably some male fantasy gimmick throughout. Theres much better older movies that do a better job, this was subpar and moneygrab.
Tomorrowland (2015)
Ray of hope
Such a good children movie, with a super inspiring message. It was exciting and mysterious idea of the future and why people should care about things around them because they already have given up. With humorous times of the old men who didnt know what to do once they didnt have an exit back to the future. . This is a good movie for the youth, it has a good plot and inspirational message as to how to act. Let alone, good overall just as a movie unlike many movies today, it made sense. It can be quite emotional at times especially the ending. It would be good to have the robot girl age, like they rebuild her to match the old man's age. But, it is also good as is for the story.
Été 85 (2020)
complex good
Rented thinking it was straight until closer inspection then gave it a chance. Loved the mentality introspection between everyone. Questioned how the other boy who didn't own a boat, was able to get the calypso at the end if the family didn't like him, and I feel like the friend he knows at the end stayed friends instead of anything else. I think the general end questions are nice and don't answer too much and let you wonder what he feels like after everything. I found it funny how often they took off their shirts, but I guess that's just what they do at the beach area. I think this also gave awareness to what depression can be like and different causes for unwellness. I liked how things weren't completely answered because it was told from the other boy's perspective.
The Raven (1963)
interesting, such twists
I was not alive near the release of this. I didn't know what to expect of this, saw it at the library and thought it was interesting trailer, the jokes are nonchalent and silly, very chill compared to today. But enjoyable. Few jokes are, doesn like black and is wearing black. Then with odd camera positionaing to make things appear different, and to not show how long something was just o they could play dress up. The young girl is a damsel in distress. Many jokes are about saying something then something changes then they revert on their word. The clothing looks quite costumy and fancily outdone.
Good Burger (1997)
Childhood classic
Recently rented goodburger two from my library, was amazing, while this was completly rented out. Showing just how popular this still is! I liked how simple of a plot they had and the creative ways they always find a way to do when you expected something different. How they do word play with the supposid doofus, in every scenerario that many would probably like to say themselves but don't. The set is goofy and built well enough. Kids movie made with great silly intentions for ages of all to enjoy. The duo with the two men on the front cover was an excellent fit who become friends but also you wouldn't think to see them so well together.
Good Burger 2 (2023)
What more amazing than could dream of
I watched with a friend and we are over the age range of nickalodian kids, and we thought this was the best sequal! My friend didn't even watch the first movie but this was hilarious, amazing, and when we thought they wouldnt they did and more! It rejected stereotypes, I can't believe this was made so much later than the first one, while they made references to 2023 instances and current events it didn't take away from this comedy/ There was a part with zoom that was hilarious that they found a way to include it. There were many things they included that if I were to tell you they made it into the film, it would be a bit hard to believe.
Animation Outlaws (2020)
So Entertaining!
You like knowing history and impact of things that led to todays artistic depictions!? This is fun and strange parts of art that few know of and man do they show so many interesting arts we could do today. It is very inspiring and gives so many ideas to do at home. Future generations could find entertainment in this. This is a vivid, lively and amazing documentary. The organization of all the information presented is in a logical order and put together well! An important message they put in this is the audience is just as important as the film. These spike and mike event was such a amazing experience to artists and the viewers.
Imaginary (2024)
Interesting concept like annabelle
I think this is on par to the latest fnaf movie of 2024. Some things were a bit scary at time , like near the end and the point when they discovered the part about the sights of the imginary teddy. Nice play on words , but at least people were a bit more developed, however I had hatred for the teen girl step daughter I believe, for just how annoying and ridiculous her stereotype of teen she was. The young toddler was alright, I liked the destruction of the teen boy neighborhood. It isn;t the worst horror movie of the year, and I think the house was alright too just too bad the women is always thought of as irational for noticing things before others. The backstory was interestingly developed into the plot.
Sous la Seine (2024)
just watch Sharknado
I thought this would have more story but the maincharacter woman only had one tragic story that doesnt entirely appear throughout the story or affect how she interacts with anything. The girl we get introduced to is young, and maybe suppose to remind us of the maincharacter but she is so easily hateable for having the oppisite intentions . I liked the ending but it also was abrupt, and felt like that was the climax and that could be fine because where else would you go with the film. However it just felt abrupt , with like no character development anywhere but more importantly, there isn't too much backround on the shark and few development with it.
Boku no hîrô akademia (2016)
Thoughout
I watched on netflix where they only had 4 seasons, when really this has more than that. However, there are about 40 episodes+ per season therefore they must of combined episodes from other seasons. This I was thinking it was like a joke anime show but this had good plot and lots of unique characters and had great ideas for the world and what would happen. Those with not too much cool quirks have unique fighting styles then give logic explanations for how they work! Usually I feel like shows only need two seasons because the story will just run on like The Office did, but this still continues with a good plot and ideas throughout the entirty.
The Thing (1982)
Excellent ending
Love everything about this, good things do come to those who wait. Especially with the challenges and solutions and just THE SPECIAL EFFECTS were amazing! I watched with my trusty old video playerwhich made it glitch every now and again, or maybe it was my dvd, BUT THE PERSERVERAnCE is worth it! The movie is excelllent with the theories and curiosity you will think of. THe only sad part is who dies. Especially the first few. A murder movie is what this is! And boy do you get it! The gore and cinematic angles are beautyfulllll. I whole heartedly will watch again as well as get a poster for this! To watch the people to track if they act different when infected!
