Batman: The Long Halloween, Part Two (2021)
A Fitting Conclusion To An Epic Story
This movie is really good. Whilst it doesn't follows the tropes of other Batman movies, it still remains truthful to who Batman is and how he would act. The movie follows on form the twist in Part One, A certain points in the movie, I thought one person was Holiday, a certain parts, another person, and overall, the reveal of who it was worked.
At the core of this movie, it is about the rich and what they have to do. There is a saying that goes around this movie (which I won't mention for spoilers), and even after watching it, it stuck with me for a long time. Just like the first part, the animation is stunning, and the story, whilst sticking to the source material, never becomes to reliant on it. An overall must watch movie for anyone trying to get into DC animation.
Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One (2021)
Solid First Half of Famous Comic
Going into this movie I was worried. With a lot of 2-parters the first part is always the not so good one, the part that sets all of the groundwork, but doesn't have anything satisfying. I was very wrong. The movie builds this urban and noir world, with mob bosses, and a young Batman, who has still to become the World's Greatest Detective.
The inclusion of Joker into this movie was nice, as he adds a certain flavor and wit to the movie. One of the reasons I thoroughly enjoyed this movie though was of how much it was inspired by the comic there are some shots that a parallel to its source material, whilst never clinging to much to it, that it becomes predictable. Overall a must watch for any DC fan.
Batman and Harley Quinn (2017)
A Stain On Batman- The Animated Series
This movie is a lot of things. There a some cool scenes, some nostalgic, some overly dark, but the mix doesn't come together. The movie is about Batman, Nightwing and Robin teaming up to take down the Floronic Man and Poison Ivy. Whilst the premise is pretty good, the movie can't take itself seriously.
Now, I can get why people would think this movie is alright, it has some funny scenes, and provide an acceptable 74mins story. However, given certain plot points and way things are resolved in this movie, it is just crazy who came up with it. If you like Batman- The Animated Series, it would be good to avoid this movie, however if you haven't watched the show, you may find it to be an alright movie.
Rakuen Tsuiho: Expelled from Paradise (2014)
Decent Anime Action
I went into this movie thinking it would just be a cool action movie with nice animation, and too be honest, that is what it is. The movie centers around Angela Balzac, as she is sent down to an now apocalyptic Earth to track a hacker, where the remaining humans try to live their lives. This movie provides a good story of 1h 40mins which you will enjoy, but not think about too much after that.
The movie tries to question whether robot could essentially act and be human, however, it never quite succeeds at that, so going into this movie, don't expect it to have deep questions. Instead enjoy the cool action and interesting animation that is displayed. Overall, I thought this movie was fine, nothing too bad, nothing too great, but I wouldn't mind a sequel to it.
Innocence (2004)
A Pretty Good Sequel
This movie is a pretty good sequel. The movie continues the question asked in the first movie. What does it mean to be human? Now with the line between AI and human becoming less transparent, Bato must investigate a murder, from a robot.
This movie tries to have the same reception as the first movie, and whilst it never quite achieves that, I think it does a pretty good job. The story have twists and surprises along the way, however there is one big problem with the movie, the animation. The animation as certain points in time looks good, however it blends it with CGI, which means some shots just look off. This movie is still worth a watch, even if it does not live up to the first movies status.
Kôkaku kidôtai (1995)
A Landmark in Anime
This is a really good anime movie, that will have you questioning yourself. The movie is about Major tracking down the mysterious Puppet Master, which is why, when I watched it the first time, I wondering what all the craze about it was. However, when I thought about it afterwards, and re-watched it, I realized what people were saying.
This movies make you question what is the difference between AI and human. Characters in the movie have been replaced and changed with cybernetics parts, to the point where you question, what makes you a human? That is the beauty of this movie, which is why I would recommend it to everyone.
Ningen shikkaku (2019)
An Overall Passable Dystopian Movie
Human Lost is a alright type of movie, with some neat action, but pretty unoriginal. The movie provides you will 1h 50mins of dystopian action, however it will be difficult for you to remember anything except the main plotline after a week. The movie is also quite confusing, with lots of things going on at the same time, and it would have been better if some of the storylines were cut out.
However, not everything is bad with this movie. The animation looks very slick, and the color design is very vibrant. The action and violence in this movie is also cool, with lots of cool shots. A particular good scene is the highway scene, which has very good shots combined with good animation. Like I before it is an alright movie, probably worth a watch, but not one that you will go to revisit time and time again.
