Siskel & Ebert (1990)
Season 4, Episode 44
This week's episode takes a look at FLATLINERS, YOUNG GUNS II, Jack Nicholson's THE TWO JAKES, METROPOLITAN and a discussion on LIFE IS CHEAP... BUT TOILET PAPER IS EXPENSIVE. That last film is a rather interesting discussion on the rating system and how the X rating isn't working anymore. The other film's reviwed lead to some interesting debates and especially the FLATLINERS one where the afterlife is discussed and this will remind people of some of Ebert's later blog postings. All in all this here is another very fun episode that lets the critics talk about one of their favorite subjects (the MPAA) as well as talk about why THE TWO JAKES was better and more intelligent than most of the movies being released at the time.
