Actor Ali Fazal, who is known for his work in ‘Mirzapur’, ‘Fukrey’ franchise, ‘Bang Baaja Baaraat’ and others, is set to grace the Off-Broadway stage in the world capital for Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, New York City. The talented actor will perform in an experimental drama.

Ali Fazal’s Off-Broadway debut will take place in a limited run of four weeks, showcasing his remarkable talent and versatility to theatre enthusiasts in New York City.

Speaking about his upcoming Off-Broadway venture, Ali said: “It’s a dream come true to be part of the Off-Broadway tradition, which has produced some of the most groundbreaking and innovative productions in history. I am thrilled to embark on this new journey and bring forth an experimental drama that I hope will resonate with audiences from diverse backgrounds.”

Mumbai, March 15 (Ians) Besides being an actor, Sumeet Vyas is an established screenwriter, too. He has written scripts for series such as "Bang Baaja Baaraat" and "Tvf Tripling" amongst others.

He says being a writer helps him choose the correct acting projects for himself.

"There are some stories that people want to tell. They are not subscribing to a module or a template. It comes from within and it's an honest attempt. I can tell when someone really wants to tell a story, if its coming from within and is an honest attempt. In that sense it really helps filter if it is a project I want to associate with. When I realise they just want to make a film to make a quick buck then I tend to avoid. In that way it really helped me as an actor," Sumeet tells Ians.

On the back of a star-studded premiere at the Yrf Studios, their Youth Films Division, Y-Films launched it’s first short film under Love Shots titled ‘The Road Trip’ starring Nimrat Kaur [of Airlift, The Lunchbox & Homeland series fame] & Tahir Raj Bhasin [of Mardaani, Force 2]. The short tells the story of a young couple driving to a weekend getaway when their car breaks down. Directed by Ankur Tewari, the film also features original music composed & performed by him with Nischay Parekh.
