Recently we have learned that Nathan Fillion, star of the cult television series Firefly and the film Serenity, has joined the cast of Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events for its second season. In the past Fillion has appeared in many comic book films as a voice actor. He is mostly known for voicing Hal Jordan in some of DC's animated films like Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox and Justice League: Doom. He has one live action comic book role in Guardians of the Galaxy, in the form of an unnamed Kyln prisoner that Groot take easily takes out.
He recently had a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which unfortunately got cut. In the same way we saw a Batman poster during Man of Steel, Fillion's cameo, or easter egg if you want to call it that instead,...

She’s easily the most famous female superhero of all time, and she’s doing it on her own. She’s Wonder Woman, and she’s been a solo superhero since her first DC Comics appearance in 1941. Though Gal Gadot is taking her to the big screen in Wonder Woman, out Friday, until now, the best-known depiction of Wonder Woman has to be the Lynda Carter version, which first premiered on Nov. 7, 1975.
That theme song! It’s enough to make you want to spin around and see if maybe this time you’ll magically change into her very same star-spangled costume.

The spotlight shines on far more than the core trio of iconic stars of Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. With the likes of primetime television veterans Steven Weber and Thomas Lennon leading the way, the full-length animated feature film boasts a supporting cast of notable voices from across all entertainment mediums and some of the best-loved animated properties.
Adam West (Batman), Burt Ward (Robin) and Julie Newmar (Catwoman) own top billing, but Weber (Wings, iZombie, NCIS: New Orleans) and Lennon (The Odd Couple, Reno 911!) – as trustworthy butler Alfred Pennyworth and Chief O’Hara, respectively – headline an impressive array of actors who were excited to give voice to a role in a Batman film.

There is a select but growing group of actors who have been in projects from both of the major comic book companies, Marvel and DC. Community alum Danny Pudi and Matt Lanter (90210, Heroes) are both in this club, and we chatted with both of them at San Diego Comic-Con. Pudi scored a small part in Captain America: The Winter Soldier thanks to his connection with the Russo brothers, who directed the 2014 Marvel movie and produced several seasons of Community. He’s now in new workplace comedy/superhero series Powerless, which will premiere on NBC mid-season. The series is about insurance adjusters specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by crime-fighting superheroes. Pudi talks about his character Teddy and makes a funny observation about how superheroes and us regular folk are different in the video interview below: Lanter, meanwhile, has supplied his voice to a few Marvel animated TV and video game projects,...

Burbank, CA – Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has accepted the MPAA’s “R” rating for its upcoming animated film, Batman: The Killing Joke, choosing to remain true to the landmark DC Comics graphic novel’s violent, controversial story, and making the film the first non-pg/PG-13 rated movie in the nine-year history of the DC Universe Original Movie franchise.
Batman: The Killing Joke, one of the best-selling graphic novels in history, tells the tale of The Joker’s origin story – from his humble beginnings as a struggling comic, to his fateful encounter with Batman that changes both of their lives forever. Actors Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprise their Batman: The Animated Series roles as Batman and The Joker, respectively.
Since its inception in 2007, the DC Universe Original Movie franchise has brought classic and current DC Comics stories and characters to animated life through a series of primarily PG-13 rated films.

Aquaman finally gets his due in Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, out now from Warner Home Entertainment. In the latest installment in the new linked video continuity, all inspired by the uninspiring New 52 reality. As is fitting in a spotlight film like this, Aquaman’s origins are explored so we also get the tried and true enmity between Arthur Curry and Orm, the Ocean Master. There’s lots of shouting, fighting, fish, and Sturm und Drang but honestly, not a lot of warmth and emotion—much like the current source material.

If you got up to use the restroom or checked your cell phone at the wrong time, you might have missed what could become a defining moment in the new DC Animated Universe.
In what amounted to under a minute of screen time, John Henry Irons wields a large hammer on what appears to be a construction site. Wearing a yellow hardhat, he defends his co-workers from an army of Atlantian attackers. Just as he is about to be overcome by his assailants, Superman swoops down and saves him. We are witnesses to the defining moment when the seeds of a new super hero are planted – Steel.

Fury Last night I popped this Blu-ray in to check out the deleted scenes and I made it through about ten minutes worth before I just couldn't stay awake any longer. There are about 50 minutes of deleted and extended scenes on this thing and from those first ten minutes it seems like the cuts were a very good decision. For starters, they add nothing to the movie, particularly an extended introduction to Logan Lerman's character where Jon Bernthal acts even more like an animal toward him, plus the editing is quite bad as David Ayer clearly didn't have the coverage he needed to cut the scenes together with the extended material. Nevertheless, I find this to be a solid movie, and one I do intend on rewatching and I'm going to dig a little deeper into those deleted scenes and if there's more to say I'll probably write up a full review.

In the following clip released today from Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, Batman and Superman are looking for clues. They banter in a way that only this duo can. This clip and the previous two clips (here and here) are quieter character moments. Something about this particular clip feels cheap to me - the animation is not very dynamic - but I'm sure the final result will be great. The trailers are action-packed and I'm hoping the next one has some more of those moments.

'Aquaman', the 1940's DC Comics superhero, inspired by Marvel's 'Sub-Mariner', is played by actor Jason Momoa in director Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" in an introductory role that will become more prominent in Snyder's 2 follow-up films, "Justice League" and "Justice League- Part 2":

Created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger, the underwater 'King Of Atlantis' debuted in "More Fun Comics" #73 (November 1941), initially as a backup feature in DC's anthology titles, then starred in several volumes of a solo title.
During the late 1950's and 1960's superhero-revival period known as the 'Silver Age', Aquaman was a founding member of the 'Justice League of America'.

Warner Bros Animation has released the first Justice League: Throne of Atlantis trailer.
The Aquaman-centric feature sees Arthur Curry raised to the position of king of Atlantis and hero of Earth (via Newsarama).
With hostilities growing between the underwater kingdom and the surface, a group of rebels seize control and declare war on the Justice League and mankind.
Only a person whose heritage is of both worlds can hope to stop the invasion.
Sam Witwer (Orm/Ocean Master), Chris Gorham (The Flash), Jason O'Mara (Batman), Shemar Moore (Cyborg), Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman), Jerry O'Connell (Superman), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern) and Sean Astin (Shazam) are among the voice cast.
Ethan Spaulding (Son of Batman, Batman: Assault on Arkham) directed the animation.

A bunch of new images have been released for Warner Bros. upcoming DC animated film Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. They feature characters such as The Flash, Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and more.
Throne of Atlantis — to be released early next year on DVD, Blu-ray and for digital download and on demand — adapts a comic arc that pits the undersea nation of Atlantis against the surface world. Unlike the comic, the movie will focus on how young Arthur Curry discovers his aquatic heritage. Raised by his human father, when the movie begins he doesn't know that he is the heir to the throne of the watery kingdom.
Aquaman will be voiced by 90210's Matt Lanter, and he'll be joined by many of the Justice League: War cast including Jason O'Mara (Batman), Shemar Moore (Cyborg), Christopher Gorham (the Flash), Sean Astin (Shazam), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman...
