Yeah duh!
It's obvious that my crazy ex isn't exactly on the level however what " reality" show is? While it can be a bit cheesy it is a lighthearted sometimes a bit R rated look at the red flags that we refuse to acknowledge when starting a new relationship. Wish this show was on about 20 years ago maybe i wouldn't have been blinded by the lust like some of the crazies depicted on this show.

Light Hearted and Funny
I enjoyed this show, purely for the outrageous stories, are they all real? Make your own mind up, perhaps exaggerated in some scenes, but I don't doubt folk have had ex partners very similar to these stories. Sit back and enjoy the comical side, being grateful that it wouldn't happen to you, or could it?

Amazing Show
Are the stories real? Probably not. But it doesn't take away from the entertainment value of the show. The stories are amazing, outlandish, and sometimes cringey. But they are hilarious. My go to cheesy-bad-guilty-pleasure show. Highly recommend for a girls night, drinking game, or just general binge

The format is easy to follow at the stories are very entertaining! They make you grateful for whatever relationship you have or had because it wasn't as Crazy as what's going on here. 10/10 stars. I'm hooked & will be bummed when this binge watch ends 😢

Pathetic fake show that purports to be reality
This show is terribly fake and pretends to be a reality show. If you need proof just look at the cast credits. I watched half an episode and I feel like I wasted way too much time on this dishonest garbage.

Absolute garbage
If the extensive cast list with a lack of 'himself/herself' didn't clue you in, this show is as fake as fake can be. Wikipedia calls it a 'reality storytelling' series, but I have little doubt that only a small handful of episodes have any sort of basis in reality... with the crazy cranked up to eleven. And its the over-the-top outlandishness that just makes this show silly and embarrassing to watch. Hard pass from me.
Hilarious! And "inspired by" true stories, not "based on" them.
For me, it was pretty obvious early on that the people who are telling their stories are actors. I've watched enough true crime/reality shows to be able to tell when someone's story is scripted. Although I will say that the actors do get better in later episodes - to the point that I sometimes forget they're actors.
It's not like the show is specifically trying to trick people. There's a difference between "inspired by" and "based on". The show says that the stories are "inspired by true events". The operative words here are "inspired by" - meaning the idea was only *triggered* by a real situation/person, but it doesn't follow the trajectory of the true story and really may only contain the essence of it. "Based on", however, means that it's much more of an accurate accounting of the true story.
More than anything, I was pleasantly surprised as I was expecting another somewhat-disturbing true crime show, and then found myself cracking up at the absolutely crazy, hilarious stories.

Who says that?!
It's ridiculous y'all! Just enough to be on the cusp of wanting to both continue to watch this train wreck unfold and wanting to turn it off immediately. They also feature two different actors per role; one actor does the (pitiful) re-enactments and the other does the "confessional" interview/narrative part. Each so obviously scripted and poorly written. Just furthers my suspicions regarding the "true crime" claim...just how much of this is NOT fictionalized?!
At first I was really leaning toward it just being terrible acting but I've now come to realize that whoever scripted this must have gotten it mixed up with a project for a musical they're working on- it absolutely SCREAMS Broadway! My fav thus far?
Yes, seriously. I don't know how the actors are able to deliver this nonsense. It's like...I have a serious case of secondhand embarrassment going on here. I have to look away out of respect! Ive definitely heard some pretty outrageous lines watching this "true crime" series, but when the above quoted was executed, an intermission became necessary...when you have to take a break at 7 minutes into an episode, gotta be some sort of red flag being blatantly. So in order to still be somewhat productive with my self-imposed break, I immediately paused it to come here to make fu...I mean to share its wonders with everyone via review.
Enjoy! (But take frequent timeouts for your own well being).Hey

- S4E q1- a younger male says to his pseudo-girlfriend/coworker: "I'm sorry. I can be a real bozo sometimes".

No way is this show about real crazy exes
Misleading
The actors/actresses in the actual reenactments are almost as bad as the actors in the confessions which tells "their story." I had to dig further to validate my suspicion that they were in fact actors... surely I was right. I don't understand why they would pretend to have the victims on there, except if they might not feel comfortable showing their face and that's why.there's the option of appearing in silhouette or blurring out faces to protect identity. The show would be so much better if they didn't use actors (terrible ones) to tell these stories. The corny music in the background is just ridiculous. Great idea for a television show but it could be done better.
