I enjoyed very much this excursion through the Finistère: beautiful landscapes (Les Monts d'Arrée, La Pointe du Raz, le Raz de Sein) and nice encounters.
There are some interesting aspects of this region: the Breton gastronomy ( the retired Michelin star chef Jacques Thorel and the story of the Breton gastronomy-the boom after the the congés payés-the cuisine of the local products, the Michelin star chefs Nolwenn Corre and Nicolas Carro, the rediscovery of local products like the oats, the net of local producers-Julien and his pouñltry farm-) , the market of local products in the Ouessant island ( the cattle breeder Marie and Thomas, the sheep breeder Charlaine, , the cheese factory where Marie and Charlaine produce cheeses, the chef Olivier Nedellec buying thelocal products for his restaurant), the agriculture in the Finistère du Nord ( the truck farmer Vincent Merrien and the growing of artichokes, the brotherhood of the Artichoke and the new way to prepare artichooke, the farmer Le Bihan and the production of lemons and ginger in his greenhouse), the Pointe du Raz and the Ile de Sein ( the guide Antoine Mahric and his visitors at the Pointe du Raz, the panorama of the Ile de Sein, the Raz de Sein, the fisherman Jean-Marie and the fishing in this area, before the seabass, now the common octopus, the photographer Ronan Follic and the pictures of the Chapel de Saint-They- monument historique- and of the seaside-the great storms), the ceramist Nathalie Dérouet (the sea as inspiration for her works of porcelain and the collaboration with the chef Didier Lecuisinier for the creation of new porcelains), Ynn Santerre and the use of the sediments of the dredging ( the Gwilen company, the recycling of thesediments into items for design and architecture) and the port of Le Guilvinec ( the "mareyeur"-fishmonger- Bruno Le ley and the buying of fishes for his clients, the lycée maritime de Le Guilvinec, 120 students but only two women, the practices on the school ship).
I nejoyed the encounters Anto Cocagne with the beekeeper Antoine Raballand at Quimper, with the oyster farmer Caroline Madec at Prat Ar Coum, with the chef Tiphaine Seguin at Brest, with Lucky and Christel Peron in the Mer d'Iroise, with the chef Nicolas Conraux and his wife Solène at Plouider, with Caroline Laloux-the hydrolat producer-, with the alpaca breeder Nina Collot D'Escury in the Monts d'Arrée, with the cattle breeders André and Eric Kelly Le Faou at Briec and Ile Tudy, with the fisherwoman and seaweed farmer Scarlette Le Corre and her daughter-in-law Estelle at Le Guilvinec; nice encounters with very nice Breton men and women.
