Caraïbes

I enjoyed very much this excursion in the Caribbean sea: beautiful landscapes and nice encounters.

There are some interestings aspects of this region: the "saintoises" ( traditional sailboats used for the fishing, the shipwright Alain Foy and the making of a new saintoise, the new life of these sailboats for tours and regattas), the Rodomond family (the family restaurant, Willy and Freddy the fishermen, the mother and cook Jeanne and finally Lilian the touristic guide), the ox-cart races of Marie-Galante (Darius and his pair of oxen, the 4 clubs in the islands, the popular sport in the island), the Dominica (the park ranger Stephen Durand and the primary forest -the are 3 National Parks in Dominica, the Kalinago community with its own territory- the Kalinago artist Gerald Langlais and the story of the community-, the historian Lennox Honychurch and the restoration of the Fort Shirley) and the Rastafarian people of the Dominica ( the female guide Isaline Carter and the tours in the nature, the promotion of ecotourism, the organic farmer Moses James-the vegetarian diet and his message for peace and love-, the musician James Armnstrong and the repair of pianos for young artists).

I enjoyed the encounters of Sophie with the catamaran captain Gilou, the plastic artist Edouard Claude at Les Saintes, with Willy Rodomond at Grand-Bourg-Marie Galante, with Mama and Papa Murat-the medicinal syrups-, with the guide Jeffrey Charles, with the guesthouse owner Richard Metawi , with Screw-the sulphur spa- and with the boat-taxi captain Raymond Mozla; nice encounters with very kind Caribbean men and women.
