Moroccan Badass Girl

A hand-me-down fleabag ripoff! I love Hicham Elasri's works, but this has to be his most subpar work in almost every aspect; cinematography, telos (message/content), coherence, and color grading (the color palette in general, something that defines the identity of a movie). Save for the cast, the rest was meh. And most importantly originality. The scene where the mother figures out that her daughter is breaking the fourth wall, rips off fleabag's encounters with the priest, and that definitely leaves us with the film's biggest Achilles heel; lack of originality. Again, nothing personal against our great filmmaker, he's done very well in some of what can be pigeonholed in the pantheon of the greatest Moroccan films, but this just isn't one of those.
