Two twists in the second half makes Sound Thoma watchable. Dileep's exuberant performance & character portrayal makes it more watchable.
Coming with the same old story taking place in a people's village, it talks about the lives of three sons who try to bring their father into the right path. The suspense created is very easy & good. Although, the actress, Mukesh & some thespian actors were wasted as the focus is aptly focused on Dileep. Nedumid Venu does his part well. The guy who played the policeman sucked big time with his dialogs & demeanor.
Editing is awful and so is the background score. During some sequences, the score plays over dialogs & nothing is heard clearly. Stunts are unbelievable and funny at the same time. The plot has nothing new to offer except the story of Dileep's grotesque face & virtues like greed.
Humor is very good at times and the film, as a whole does make laugh. The climax is very feeble for the strong beginning. A 4.1/10 for this attempt. Music is fine.
BOTTOM LINE: Watch it for Dileep & to have a good laugh.
Profanity: Mild | Sex/Nudity/Vulgarity: No | Violence/Gore: Strong | Drugs/Smoking: No | Alcohol: Mild

The movie starts superb with narration relating to Christ's birth but gets very much predictable after that. The film covers stereotypical comedy with overflowing nasty sentiments (YUCK!!). Already the sentiment scenes seen from movies like Kunji Koonan are repeated once again here. The movie theme is about greed which is inspired from Maapillai(Rajni's tamil movie) and quite others like Jamai Raja or even Mr. Marumakan except for the fact that here in this movie the father is greedy instead of the mother in law. Positives in the movie includes the humor by the hero and the old concept of how greed can bring down a person. Musical score is OK. The movie is suitable for all ages. It is an okay movie to watch with family

Sound Thoma
The movie was just so much fun to watch, it was very stress buster too.. Funny as hell, Yes there are ton of corny scenes but something still got me glued on to and that have to be the comedic side and a pretty girl like namitha & a beautifully shot (scenery) watched on amazon prime.. But for me this was a relaxing and entertaining to watch. I started to pick up on Malayalam movie few years ago and after few movies I noticed Indian movies have disabled/ special needs characters way too often. But I've never seen anything thing like this funny which tied to a watchable story with that slight twist at the end, with that I want to say Dileep did a great job. I wish the movie focused little on the early age of Thoma, or this could be a prequel.
I don't mind watching this again at all.
