What I like about this drama is the way they talk about reincarnation and the irony of what would happen if one truly remembers all of one's past lives. I love when a romantic Kdrama adds a twist to the usual romantic plot, and this one adds a great spin with the convergence of past and present lives.
Plot: This drama follows Ban Ji Eum, a woman in her early twenties who is able to remember her past lives, which totals 19 lives. In her 18th life, Yoon Ju Won, died as a 12 year old so, Ji eum plans to reconnect with Mun Seo Ha who was with her the day she died and finds out that he misses her as much as she does. Isn't the plot interesting?
This drama lets the viewers see the trauma and grief endured by those who remain after a life cut short. They have also shown how hard it is for Ji Eum to connect with people from her past lives with the same emotions and how much she still loved them just like her past lives.
In our single life we have many moments which break our hearts into pieces, sometimes we can't even breathe because of the pain we go through. Ji Eum must have lived all those painful moments throughout her 19 lives. The pain of losing people again and again in her multiple lives, what a toll it must have on her soul.
Shin Hye Sun: Her portrayal of Ban Ji Eum is exceptional! She really shows a sense of wisdom and maturity in her speech that is truly special. Sometimes she sounds like a historical lady and the very next moment she switched to a 20th century girl.
Ahn Bo Hyun: I like this actor. He loves to explore his talent. Here his character is soft and vulnerable, you feel like protecting him at all costs.
His deep and at the same time tender and puppy eye look gives life to Seo Ha's character. He is perfect as Seo Ha. The only thing I could maybe add is that we didn't see much of Seo ha's childdishness, but I'll blame that on the lack of episodes and so the lack of scenes we could've seen.
Supporting characters: All 4 supporting characters were important in this drama. When Seo-ha had no one beside him, Do-yun was constantly there to provide a helping hand. Whereas, the relationship between the FL and her 60+ year old niece from her 17th life was heartwarming to watch. The same was with her younger sister of 18th life.
Lee Chae Min's mysterious aura captivated the audience from the beginning until the end. Oh and the Child actors were great too.
Especially the two young ladies who played 18th and young 19th life Ji-eum
Cinematography: Aesthetically it's a beautiful drama. There was a scene when both main leads 1st time saw each other through a fish tank, it's one of the most beautiful encounters of main leads. I loved it! Also, episode 11 and 12 have some breathtaking scenes.
OST: "Star" by Colde, I don't know why but whenever I listen to this song I feel a deep longing in my heart. I miss my dear ones whom I have lost. This song soothes my anxiety.
"I'll embrace your past" by Ahn Bo Hyun, I didn't know that ABH could sing that too with melodious voice. Other OSTs were also perfect additions to the narrative
As a big fan of the original webtoon I was ecstatic when I heard news of it getting a kdrama adaptation but they should have made it for 16 episodes since the webtoon was quite slow paced. They have missed quite a lot of things because of that. But again it was never about the suspense , it was about love, care and relationships which can melt your heart.
The music added to the drama in the right spots, the visuals, and scenery were all wonderful helping to carry the story to the end. The drama's ending leaves a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction, tying up loose ends gracefully.

My favorite thing about this series is its plot. Not only is it something I haven't seen before, but it's also creative and heart-warming. The multiple stories we get to see are just so wonderful. Every story is thought out and touching. I will say that this series was slightly slow at some points, I also wish we could have seen even more of the 19 lives.
There is also just the perfect amount of characters to follow and fall in love with. And the actors do a great job, especially Shin Hye-sun, who manages to show such raw emotion in her delivery.
The cinematography in this series is also phenomenal.

I honestly would've given this 10 stars but some of it isn't historically accurate, but other than that it is such a good k drama. It was a roller coaster of emotions for me. And the fact I couldn't predict what was going to happen was the best. Usually in shows I can predict everything but this show was different and I live that about it. The acting at times was a tad cringe, but I found it apart of the character but I could be wrong. I think they could've explained the age gap between Ban Ji Eum and Mun Seo Ha because it was kind of confusing for me at times. Like I knew he was older but... how much older? I felt like the show was rushed towards the end, especially in the last episode. But it was a very different Asian drama compared to the ones I typically watch. I would recommend this show to anybody who loves a dramatic romance with side plots. Overall, it was an amazing tv show and though I would not rewatch it (because it has too long of episodes for my taste) it was amazing.

What a ride!!!
This was pure joy to watch...I know it was also, sadness, and frustration, and fear, and a lot of anger and heartbreak. But it had all The good feelings too!!
It is of course a very passionate and sweet love story, one of those epic love stories that transcends time and space and no one can't stop from happening. But it is more than that.
This series is about a deeper kind of love. A deep love with that feeling of longing, of wanting to live the best things in life with the people you love, to share with them all their problems and worries and being able to give them hope and care for them when they need you the most.
That love that you need every day to keep you going. The love that gives you that very warm feeling of belonging.
It was such an amazing story full of learnings and so beautifully written.
The chemistry between the main leads is good and I just have to make a special mention about the exceptional acting of Shin Hye Sun. In case you don't know her yet, you need to watch the rest of her work quickly. She is one of the most talented and multifaceted actresses in South Korea and she can literally transform herself into any character and personality she wants. In this series yet again, she is just going from comedy to drama, passing through every single emotion possible and she literally nails every single one of them. She is just formidable.
The pace was perfect, i would have wished it would have lasted a few more episodes but just because I was enjoying it so much, but the ending wasn't rushed and everything fell into place quite nicely. No holes in the story and no clichés, well written characters too.

I have no idea how is this k-drama considered comedy. I was looking to watch a good comedy k-drama after finishing one comedy k-drama and liking it, only to end up surprised by this one. See you in my 19th life is a very tragic show, it represents melancholy and many other feelings and it definitely made me cry for hours although it's rare for me to feel this emotional over shows. If you're looking for a comedy show, this is NOT the one, I'm not sure of the original source material but the adaptation isn't comedy. But if you're looking for a show that will make you on edge and test your emotions and make you think about your priorities, then this show will make you have a good cry while doing so!

I am amazed by the talent of Yeji Min, the writer of this show. Same for the director, Lee Na-Jeong. Both ladies excel here, they simply nailed the story.
My 10 out of 10 score gives also away that the actors deliver just as flawlessly. Unbelievable. I do hope there will be a 2nd season somehow, even though the 1st season rounds things off perfectly.
Cinematography: another masterful aspect of the show. Some images lingered on with me for a long time, but I don't want any spoilers. You will know what I am talking about for sure.
You do not hear this sentence often from a 50-year-old man, but here it is: this was just beautiful!

This series is a sci-fi where the main actor is living her 19th life as the title already suggests.
Great actors and acting but not much chemistry between the actors. Probably due to slow paced storyline which could have been difficult for the director to mold into something with more suspense and chemistry. The storyline itself is full of holes, meaning unrealistic situations or storyline that either make no sense or that feel too 'cold'. In addition there are way too many flashbacks and repetition of same frames. It must have been a hell of a job for the actors to work through this. Kudos to them and the entire team for sticking through it all and for delivering an acceptable result.
To the individuals who are pointing out that alcohol was invented in Iran and who are so upset: please don't be upset at this show. Be concerned about your leaders in your county who kills girls that wear no scarf and who have banned alcohol. Don't take this show as a documentary where every fact is correct. This show is a sci-fi and almost no facts in this show are correct or true. It's just for entertainment.
I would urge you to stop spreading hate and to start spreading love. It starts with YOU.

I kind of liked it, and almost binged it. It did not feel dragged, and 12 episodes is just fine.
The two main characters might not have the best chemistry, and the male lead was a bit stiff.
In some Korean shows, the music is annoying, but in this show, it is very discreet and did not bother me.
The plot itself did have quite a few holes, and the ending made me ask «Why?» a few times. Some things does not make sense(even when I looked past the fantasy things), and the writers should have altered a few things regarding the memory loss in the last episodes.
What is going on with the negative Iranians in here? I do not remember any of it, and have no idea what they are talking about. No reason to feel so upset about such small matters!

12 episodes Netflix!?! Really?? Like how did anyone read this script and not think Mmmh maybe we shouldn't try to end 4 or more storylines in one episode because it's impossible! The story would have been so much richer and developed strongly if it was a classic 16 episode k-drama. The ending was so rushed, so many open ended stories had to be resolved and it just turned out sloppy. Still, I really enjoyed this, reminded me of Goblin somewhat. And of course the main actress is wonderful, she continues in Mr. Queen fashion to make her character super lovable. Now the main actor, we'll idk this is a better performance than Yuma's Cells so I guess that's some improvement lol Overall really sweet and heartfelt, just wish it was longer!

Despite a number of tragedies in our cute and cool protagonists' lives, their practical and sometimes surreal approach to things sets them apart from other fictional couples, making them very real and relatable.
The approach to romance is old-school yet the setting in the modern world is pretty astute. Nothing seems out of the place or unbelievable despite the fantastical setting. In keeping with the (thankfully) recent trends in doing away with the damsel-in-distress romances, our female protagonist is a doer rather than a dreamer, not leaving things to destiny and taking control of what she hopes from her life (or at least the one she is on!). I also loved the subtle subtext that the soul doesn't have a set gender-identity.
Recommend this fresh-take in characters from different lifetimes!

Shin Hae Sun act perfectly 😍 and all the cast was fantastic. The drama have a rollercoaster emotions and all the cast portry their assign character well. It sad that somehow wrong information speading around and accuse this drama. Wish that everyone will enlightened and the wrong accusations will end. The drama just tell about who bring the soju in Korea, not the person who discover the alcohol. I know that it was just misunderstanding and misinterpreted. I really wish that this drama become popular not only in korea but also in worldwide. This drama was take so long just to give as good result and everyone give their best. Let just enjoy the show and spread love.

Firstly the Cast. The cast deliver the real message of this Kdrama real good, Their acting was so good and the delivery of the lines was so on point! Plus i love the casting of this series. Secondly the Storyline, The scenes and the flow of the story of the drama was so un-impossible but this drama will made you overthink some things such like your Past Lives. To be honest at first the plot was not what i like to happen, But when the ending scenes appear, I realized that "Oh, That's so real and true to life" I also love the editing and all. They also do answer immediately your questions in your mind such as the Flashbacks and all. I also do mention that this is my new fave kdrama because of the ending and the scenes was like unpredictable. And bonus because of the Actors and Actresses. Goodjob also to the Cast and Directors and Writers because they made the Readers of the webtoon proud and happy. I also just want to mention that research of the correct information can do:) But overall it's Good! Jinja!

Everyone know 2014-18/19 was the golden time of kdrama. Their fantasy, sci-fi, thriller drama was so satisfying and Specially rom-com. Korean drama are always best for fantasy, rom-com. But sad to say, recent Drama's are worst than you think. Barely 1 or 2 drama become world wide favourite in between 1 or 2y. Korean actress, actor was best for expressing Their emotions in any situation. But recent actor and actress face expression is too horrible to watch. I don't know why, but some of them already had top notch drama in his/her career. May be the reason behind their horrible acting is script. Most of the drama are now copy-paste version of previous drama. But it's not the problem, Director or producer are now busy to just finish a drama somehow. And i think kdrama in 12 episode is more suitable than 16 episode. To make more episode drama become slow and worst in every scene.
Now talking about this drama. I rarely do comment. But this drama forced me to write something. JUST READ THIS LINE, GO AND WATCH THIS DRAMA IF YOU LOVE ROMANTIC AND LIGHT WEIGHT DRAMA.
I think kdrama are now suit only with some specific actress and actor. I don't know the name of this actress in this drama, but i watched some more drama of her. And every single drama was worth of time. She is so good in acting in every drama.
I liked this drama because it's not slow. Most of the kdrama depend on a common trauma from childhood or other part of life. This drama was also running on the same path. But it suddenly bring twist into the plot, with a first life memory. And it's made this drama more charmful. I think as a Netflix series it is good enough than sick, cringe "King the Land" drama.

Finished another k-drama
'See you in my 19th Life'
It's a fantasy romantic drama.
This is another kdrama which is based on Webtoon.
As it's based on past life, reincarnation theme, it has lots of flashbacks, which sometimes jarring to watch.
Initial episodes are good than later.
Young versions & child actors are adorable to watch.
Ahn Bo-hyun didn't impress me this time. Shin Hye-sun does her best what she can with the material she got. Lead pair's chemistry didn't impress me. Others are OK. Other technical aspects are ok.
I would say this is an above average drama. Not so good not so bad.
Available on Netflix.

Please do watch this drama as this is the best drama where you will cry, laugh, and get angry on few characters. 10000000/10.
I also loved how they wonderfully put details on her previous lives.
We needed a drama where female lead protects male lead and this drama gives that.

This show starts off strong, with an intriguing supernatural/reincarnation story and excellent setup. There's child actors who are excellent at portraying a nuanced backstory for the main leads, and some loveable side characters too.
Unfortunately as the series progresses they don't really develop the side characters much, some plot points kind of come out of nowhere and aren't resolved in a satisfying way, and for me the romance didn't really hit - mostly because of how persistent the female lead is towards the male lead, I just kept thinking how uncomfortable I would be if I was in that situation (and I'm female, thinking about it from any perspective). The pacing of the show also gradually worsens, with flashback scenes overutilised repeatedly.
It's not terrible and some will enjoy it for sure, but the story didn't live up to it's potential.

I love how they portrayed the main character's ability to remember her past lives. They haven't yet dwelled into her lives past her 18th but it is definitely something that could make this kdrama even better than it already is. If you aren't a fan of cliches though this might not be the best choice for you. This kdrama mixes many different cliches together (ceo x employee, forbidden love, cold ml x cheerful fl) but is also there very non-cliche aspect of the female lead. The female lead is amazing, her character is very very entertaining to watch. She's definitely got to be in. My Top 3 kdrama female characters!! I say it is a must watch because of the female lead!

Korean Drama " See You in my Nineteenth Life " is a fantasy melodrama with a cute spin to it.
The drama combined perfectly comedy with a more melodramatic mood when it came to the characters, their past and their struggles.
The story, in addition, is nicely paced, with the romance being enjoyable to watch, though predictable. The side couple were adorable though.
But the highlight of the drama is the main female lead. She was excellent as always and she proved once again that she can transform into any character she is given to flesh out.
However, there were some plotlines that got boring to follow. But the ending was unique.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

Aah!! I've read the webtoon and was wondering how will they make it live action. But all the cast are doing such an amazing job. I literally friend while watching every episodes till now. Ahn Bo Hyun as Seoha is spectacular. He completely transformed in moon seoha, that drunk scene or the trauma scenes you just wanna protect him by all cost. Shin Hye Sun as Ban Ji-eum is perfect. We needed a drama where female lead protects male lead and this drama gives that.
Special thanks to child actors who gave their 100 to bring the character alive. When little Seoha was crying it broke my heart.

This by far is my most favorite drama this year. A mix of drama, comedy and romance. Not to mention the great cinematography.
I have read the webtoon and although they did a little tweaking, it didn't ruin the plot at all. At first, I was disappointed with the casting especially for the male lead, but he did justice to the role of Seoha. It was so refreshing to see him act a different character vibe from his typical macho roles.
Shin Hyesun is Shin Hyesun. Give her a role and she'll deliver it. You can see that acting is her passion. I am loving her more.
Thumbs up to the child actors. They stole the scene in the beginning episodes specially the one who played the young version of the female lead.
I hope this drama ends well and the casts receive awards for doing a job well done.
I have read the webtoon and although they did a little tweaking, it didn't ruin the plot at all. At first, I was disappointed with the casting especially for the male lead, but he did justice to the role of Seoha. It was so refreshing to see him act a different character vibe from his typical macho roles.

A series based on a webtoon. And this means that the scenario will have a strange course and end in the tail of the fish. That is, unclear and sudden. As for originality, yes, it's an authentic Korean production, by the book, which includes the inevitable: rich man + beautiful and competent girl (main couple) rich heiress + working boy (second lead couple), manipulations and behind-the-scenes games in conglomerates -checked, the solution a crime from the past, reincarnation, love of 1000 years. All this, served with the garnish of intensive and sometimes ridiculous product placement, but this is the Korean specificity, the sponsors make the production possible and pay for the team's work. Although it has all the elements of banality, it was still pleasant to watch, because it was well made. Shim Hye-sun is both beautiful and very good as an artistic ability, through the versatility of interpretation. And the other actors play well, and it was surprising that there was more naturalness than exaggerated drama (thanks to the director for not serving us this). However, the last episode is so crowded and the ending is left unclear. One of the productions that would have deserved at least 2 more episodes.
