When Maggie sees Shelby off at the ferry and they hug closely, Maggie's left hand is below her right arm. After a cut, her hand is suddenly on her upper right arm, and back on Shelby's back again after another cut.
The movie takes place just before Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve in Friday Harbor (an island in Washington State), but it was shot in Nova Scotia, Canada. Both locations are known for harsh December. However, it was obviously shot in the early autumn. There are a lot of green (minority is yellowish) deciduous trees and bushes around town. It was also warm so cast and extras didn't wear proper winter clothes either. Production didn't even bother to put artificial snow, too to at least hide green nature which is obviously impossible in the December on those locations.
While supposedly on Friday Harbor (an island in Washington State), there is an announcement that the ferry is leaving for Bellingham (WA). The ferry from Friday Harbor to the mainland goes to Anacortes, not Bellingham.
