One of the more brutal ones, but this is outstanding.

This features a wonderful, captivating opening, as Nikki gives a eulogy for her father, it's moving and soothing. Totally at odds with the grim discovery that awaits, we get some horrific deaths, a horrible crime scene, and a scene of genuine emotion, as a pregnant DI James sees the crime scene.

It's complicated to see the least, with two complex stories running side by side.

It's not going to be for everyone, because the material is very dark, one aspect in particular is very upsetting, but putting the tone to one side, I have to say this is a terrific, memorable episode, which is very well made, with a strong narrative.

If you can get through the grim opening, the rest of this episode is outstanding, Vincent Regan raises the bar when he appears, he's awesome.
