It felt like more care was put into earlier episodes versus the latter
Xianxia tends to be hit or miss with me, but I was drawn in by the appeal of seeing Bai Lu and Luo Yunxi together again after the Love is Sweet. Their chemistry doesn't disappoint. I really loved the first 3/4 of this drama. Though both leads are good, Luo Yunxi really owned the show as the tortured Tantai Jin, and I found two of the lifetimes (Ming Ye/Cang Jiu and Tantai Jin/Ye Xiwu) equally absorbing and the CGI above the usual. But once we returned to the "present," the storytelling fell apart quite a bit for me. The pacing became uneven, the cut from scene to scene disjointed. The logic of the characters became inconsistent and subordinate to the plot. Sometimes it lagged, sometimes it was too hurried. The ending was not, for me, satisfying. It just felt sloppy. I don't know what happened in the production, but it certainly felt like more care was put into earlier episodes versus the latter and I only ended up finishing because of my investment from the earlier episodes . I went from wishing the drama would never end to wondering if it ever would by ep 33, a big disappointment. That's not to take away from the actors. I hope to see Bai Lu and Luo Yunxi collaborate again.
What a perfect package of a spectacular series!!
Till the End of the Moon is probably the most spectacular series of 2023 in my opinion as it becomes the most-watched series of the year. The success of the series is no doubt because of the main leads, Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu. Pairing them again after their previous work, Love is Sweet (2020), was such a great idea. They really had strong chemistry there and knowing that they will be pairing again, I have been waiting for their series to come since 2021. Finally, the series was worth waiting for as it becomes the most favorite series of the year.
Many reasons why Till the End of the Moon becomes everyone's favorite apart from the two main characters. First, the exquisite costumes and jewelry, (seriously, Luo Yunxi looks incredibly dazzling as well as magnificent in every costume he wears during the series), gorgeous make-up and hair styles, spectacular special effects, stunning cinematography, first-class chemistry between the two main leads and last but not least the interesting story with good plots.
However, personally, I absolutely believe the scene stealer is Tantai Jin who played by the awesome Luo Yunxi. He portrays his character brilliantly and he's very believable in doing it. I have to admit, I love his visual and expression as Tantai Jin. I guess no one can play the character of Tantai Jin better except him. As if the character was made only for him. And for you all information, I could not take my eyes off the screen whenever I saw him on it.
Too bad the series just ended yesterday, if only it has more episodes, so I can enjoy watching the love story between Tantai Jin and Li Su Su a bit longer. Good bye Tantai Jin, your character willl have a special place in my heart for quite some time. You will be missed by all of us for sure.

Finally, a xianxia that could have been made by HBO
In addition to great acting by Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu and a plot that hooks you in, I appreciate that this is a departure from the traditional xianxia in that it is much darker and more colorful at the same time. The female lead is not stupid. The male lead starts out as a psycho (but there's amazing character development). Finally, a xianxia that's not just about falling in love, but has a deeper central message: anyone can become a force for good and rise from the ashes.
While the production is not perfect and there are inconsistencies in editing, lighting etc, there are enough highlights to make up for the shortfall. Lots of scenes that could live in memes in years to come. Some of the fight scenes could easy be a superhero film. Also, compared to most Chinese TV dramas, the plot moves really quickly, with lots of details and easter eggs buried within, to the point that Chinese viewers are complaining that it feels choppy. However, I think this is a step in the right direction as the audience matures.
Overall, I would highly recommend this xianxia to those who would like to see a more serious, sophisticated take of the genre.

An epic romance pierced in my heart
Hello, I watched until the last episode before I write this review, I even rewatched most episodes twice! Yes, includes the last ep too.
Like other international viewers, I jumped in Till The End Of The Moon, and very impressed with the production. Till the End of the Moon is highly recommended epic xianxia romance.
Indeed, some critics may say that the story is quite similar with 2 or 3 fantasy drama produced before. Yet the CGI, costumes, and chemistries lay solid facts of maybe the most epic drama of 2023. Furthermore, there are director's decissions to emphasize a discussion about love and psychological stature -which I believe went beyond the original novel- that made the drama dear in my heart.
Not to mention the acting! And I don't mean only one single actor plays Hamlet all along. As an international drama viewer who watch many dramas (not only C-drama which had just recently uprise), I valued actors and actresses because their performances. Only by great performance, great acting, I can rewatch a drama again and again. A great plot of course interest me at first watch, but not to rewatch unless with good performance.
Thus with this review, I send my applause to Luo Yunxi who plays the dramatic, bold yet miserable God Demon brilliantly. He smartly differentiate among 3 characters played, and succeeded to bring up the layers of feelings that each his character has. It is surely "beyond". My most favorite moment was when his anxious, weak and petty character feeling enormous devilish power in his hand. I got cold feet again and again by his play.
The second best actor IMO was the actress who played Ye Bingchang. As a viewer I hated her to the bone. Which, a sign that she plays beautifully.
Of course, it would not fair to not mention the female lead. Her potrayal of Ye Xiwu complement other actors very well done. If the character not played by Bai Lu, I don't think the other characters will went top notch. Afterall the story IS actually about her.
If there are minuses, in my opinion, one thing disturbing me is about the management of costumes. Perfect costumes embelish the character of drama and highlight the acting. Yet in fantasy and historical sets, costumes also symbolize a sign of time-line, a sign of character's development. The costume management is not only problem in this drama, but most of C-drama which sometimes made international viewers like me confuse with story's logic and story's line. For example, there is a time in this drama when 3 immortals sent to mortal world, beautiful Li Susu costume's not well symbolically functioned as it should be (although it is surely very beautiful).
Finally I would recommend this drama to all international viewers. It is an epic romance. It is highly philosophical and psychological (discuss about depressions and consciousness). It is highly rewatchable. If you rewatched it, you'll pick 2 or 3 great life quotes. Their acting are great. Round applause. Possibly Luo Yunxi's masterpiece in acting, although I hope he will not stop here and become better and better in the next performances. The CGI, costumes all that are superb. Highly, highly recommend !

This is definitely the best Chinese costume drama been watching this while!
I really amazed by all those costumes in this drama, Eye Catching and Gorgeous "Dun Huang" element traditional costume, this really a good try in adding this historical element in all the costume in this drama, can seen that the team was done a perfect work.
Stunning and professional performances by the actors and actress, been know Bai Lu since awhile she as good as usual, I'm so surprised by the main role Lou YunXi, not knowing him before but in this drama the way he performs really amazed me a lot, even when he cry when he emo my felling was like up & down when watching him in this drama.
Amazing Computer - Generated - Imaginary (CGI) effects. Rarely seen a drama series put so much effort in their CGI, this really make my vision comfortable.
Rare, New and Fresh type of story, never get bored of every chapter of the story.

Love this series
I fell in love with this series at first sight. The incredible look of the main character melted my heart from the first minutes of the series.
The actors got used to the role perfectly and revealed the characters.
The plot is interesting and exciting. After watching each episode, you are looking forward to a new episode.
I'm a fashion designer and I really liked the costumes. They are detailed and perfectly convey the mood and image of the heroes. The special effects are just as good.
I'm watching the series and as if I'm plunging into that world with my head.
This series has become one of my favourites. Thank you for the work done! I look forward to the next series!

It was she, who showed me the joy and warmth in life, as well as the pain, the sorrow, and all the beauty that comes with it.
This was such a great surprise for me. I was already prepared for something grand because of the amount of positive reviews and fans this has, but It surpassed my expectations .
The story is just so captivating and powerful and you couldn't possibly ever get bored because every actor plays different characters living different lives and tribulations in different timelines so you are completely hooked since the show starts.
From the beginning you know you will suffer a lot with this genre of cdramas and the amount of angst is real( for every scene of lighthearted and playful love you get 10 of heavy super dramatic and painful scenes) but it is worthy. It is a very deep analysis of all human emotions and shows how experiences in life will shape the person you become.
Huge fan of the character development of this drama, extremely complex personalities and forever conflicted, feeling emotions they don't want or they don't understand but equally necessary for their growth and evolution.
I have watched our main leads in many shows and even together in Love is sweet and I believe both of them are quite great actors ( Bai Lu in The Legends was outstanding), they have great chemistry and its fun watching them.
The effects and costumes are on another level and you can see the quality, but I have to say, (as the one negative thing I find about the series), I didn't like the huge amount of makeup every single character is wearing on each scene, way too heavy and it's actually distracting in many of the scenes, I don't understand what the makeup director was thinking...
Other than that small thing and overall, its an excellent cdrama and I recommend you to watch it 150%, you won't regret it.

Very good drama! Amazing!
An excellent drama in which everything is perfect: wonderful acting (special respect to Leo and Bai Lu). Amazing costumes and scenery, good special effects. All the actors (both main and secondary) are very beautiful! The actors play so well that it is impossible to break away from the series. I am very worried about the fate of the characters, the plot is very dynamic, tense and unpredictable! There is no place for boredom here! I watched a lot of dramas, this is definitely one of the best in all respects! In love with the characters, delighted with looking forward to each new series! Perfect!!!
Couldn't find soul; just inconsistency, senselessness, misunderstandings and tackiness
Like millions of cdrama viewers, I waited for this drama to air with bated breath. But after watching 14 episodes, I still couldn't feel its soul.
I loved Bai Lu in One and Only as well as in Forever and Ever. However, in TTEOTM, the inconsistency of her performance gave me whiplash. Granted, she's playing several roles, but even in just one role, she would switch personalities, such as portraying a sudden burst of perkiness that felt forced. It's like she couldn't remember which character she was playing. And was she supposed to be smart? When Tan Tai Jin attacked Prince Lin's wedding with the crows, how could she not figure out or at least suspect that TTJ was behind it? She knew TTJ had affinity with animals and the attack involved crows and he survived the attack unscathed. But nope, she was totally clueless. This is just one example where logic gets thrown out the window in this drama. The corny, unnuanced acting Bai Lu exhibited every now and then didn't help alleviate my increasing disappointment with this drama.
I admired Luo Yunxi in My Sunshine and Ashes of Love, but no matter how much I tried to ignore it since his acting is not bad, I couldn't help feeling dismayed at how skeletal he looks here. So much so that his head looks abnormally long and thin, and sometimes big for his body. It may be appropriate when he's playing the bullied Tan Tai Jin, but not as war god Ming Ye. I hope this is not something encouraged in the Chinese Entertainment industry; I noticed other Chinese actors and actresses looking alarmingly anorexic too.
Misunderstandings are among my most hated tropes. It's bad enough when a misunderstanding is caused by a third party, which happens here, but worse when a lead character instigates it against his love interest, which also happens here. It's especially exasperating when a character denies his true feelings to hurt his loved one for no better reason than jealousy or to stoke his ego and does not even give her a chance to say her piece. Really, hiding behind a wall? That scene reminds me of a little boy hiding behind his mom's skirt.
Still, I continued watching, hoping to find something that would make up for the disappointing parts. After all, some of my favorite dramas also have inconsistent acting and misunderstandings. However, I instead encountered the deal breaker - when Sang Jiu, one of the roles Bai Lu plays, told Ming Ye, one of Luo Yunxi's roles, "You owe me wedding night sex". I could never root for a female lead who could utter such nonsense. A woman who would want to be intimate with a husband who has to be told he owes her that is just too low for me. Such a tacky line that seems meant to titillate sex-starved viewers could only belong in my Dropped bin.

That's great!!!
Now this is my favorite TV series, I'm looking forward to the release of new episodes. The actors play great!!! Thank you for the wonderful work!!!
I hope that the series will be appreciated. Everyone worked hard, the costumes are gorgeous, the scenery and special effects are amazing. The cast is on top, the actors' acting is fascinating, all the actors with a love line have excellent chemistry.
When the series ends, I don't even know what will be able to surpass it. For the first time, I'm so looking forward to the release of new episodes.
Everyone in my environment is really looking forward to the release of new episodes and just like me, they support the entire team of the series.

Sun and moon energy side by side, light and dark energy overlap. Into the devil into God, in your mind.
I really don't think what Changyue Jinming preaches is innocence for evil, and good comes with evil
I don't think the Three Views are not correct. On the contrary, the play portrays a deeper dialectical worldview.
Evil can turn into good, good can turn into evil, everything depends on your choice.
So, on a pure black paper, a discussion began about good and evil, love and hate.
The first layer is to repay evil with evil.
The evil thoughts of human sin and karma have created the demon god, and the demon god has destroyed the heavens and destroyed the earth, causing the destruction of life.
The world is cruel to Dan Tai Jin, and he also rewards it with cruelty.
Dantai Jin must also pay the price of sacrificing his soul and body in order to slaughter creatures for the demon.
This layer tells you that when you choose to do evil, you will inevitably be devoured by evil thoughts, and your karma will eventually need to be repaid.
The second layer is to repay evil with love.
God and demon, can exchange my divine essence for your demon bone.
People and demons, you can exchange my demon pill for your peace.
People can cross class and repay good for evil.
Between countries, one can put aside hatred and prioritize the people.
This layer tells you that whether you love this person or the world, you are not willing to give love because you pursue good results, but because love is there, transcending fate. Repaying evil with love can dissolve hatred and even turn evil into good. The power of love is far stronger than that of evil.
The third layer is in hell, with a heart like a divine Buddha.
Sheng Wang is the ruler, tyrannical and rebellious against the people, Ye Qingyu is the minister, and he can also rebel against the ruler for the people, without sacrificing his reputation.
Cang Jiumin must first melt the evil skeleton into a demon to destroy the demon god. Finally, he sacrificed himself to save the people.
At this level, for the sake of righteousness, love, and goodness, even if one needs to go to hell first and be criticized and stigmatized, they will not hesitate.
These are what I see and feel while watching the drama.
If you set yourself at the opposite end of the "main road" pursued by the main line from the beginning, placing yourself as a victim on the protagonist's path of martyrdom. Standing low, everything will look low.

Heavily hyped but the plot would leave you disappointed. Great CGI tho.
I had high expectations on this drama after seeing the hype and good reviews I've been seeing on social media. I was definitely blown away by the CGI/Visual effects on this drama. The actors also did a very good job with bringing their characters to life. The chemistry between the lead actors Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu was also really good. But I was utterly disappointed with the plot and the lack of sense. There's too much unnecessary angst and the whole thing was just very tiring and toxic, very repetitive it gets boring. Four lifetimes/arcs but the same story. It can be really sad and emotional for others I guess but the whole glorifying self-sacrifice plot is just too cliché, lacking sense, and feeding toxic outlook on love for me. The whole thing was just giving mental illness and I could say the same for those who heavily glorify this drama. If you think self sacrifice is the "greatest form of love" like what i've seen from the comments of TTEOTM fans defending this drama like their lives depend on it, sincerely, please get help. All in all, it could've been great with CGI and acting but the plot was very poor in my opinion- the whole thing felt like a waste of time and energy for me in the end.

The Best Drama & Most Addictive Characters
This drama got me so invested in the characters. The main leads & all supporting characters were really likable and convincing. Luo YunXi and Bai Lu did a tremendous job and I honestly really can believe their characters are real.
The fight scenes were the best I've seen from any Chinese fantasy drama. They were epic, had great visual effects and they kept delivering more and more. Luo Yuxi's dancing background also helped really make his fighting scenes and movements look effortless
The costumes are also awesomely beautiful! The only thing I would like to improve slightly would be Tan Tai Jin's costumes. They were magnificent, but not as regal as Dong Fan's costumes from love between fairy and devil. Tan Tai Jin's costumes and looks were more rough (did not like the braided hair), but still very good.
I honestly would love to have a part 2 of this where we see the two main characters in a new story or a continuing story. I'd watch another 40+ episode series of Jin & Susu. We need more stories about demon lords.

The drama is amazing and very entertaining.
The drama is just great. The actors are amazing. The two main characters are my favorite actors. I have been waiting for this drama for a very long time. I want to watch to the end. And it doesn't matter who plays what roles, all the roles are good, and without them there would be no such a wonderful film.
Yes, there are some film bloopers, but we are all human and can make mistakes. While watching this film, I don't even notice these blunders, because I'm too fascinated by the acting and the plot, I don't care for blunders. Half the world was waiting for this movie. Don't close please!!!!!!!!

Cried and cried
The only one Xianxia I have ever watched fully without skipping
The show is beyond incredible!
The storyline is like no other. The Devil God, a sociopath born with misery and bullied all his life, whose fate was designed to destroy the world, however, learned how to love from his immortal wife and the 12 gods who have fallen in the battle against the previous Devil God. For that love he chose sacrifice himself and his love for his wife to forever shutting down any possibility of perishing the world. I love this show that doesn't focus on personal love or gain like any other ones. Gods or humans go beyond their power to love and care about the world and all life forms in it.
And of course, the highlight of this show is Luo Yunxi. He completely delivered it. I feel the struggles and pain he has at every twist ad turn. The tears, the veins on his neck when in pain, the micro expressions from his eyes, eyebrowns, not an inch of his body is wasted while performing. His acting is just so damn good!
If you love a good Chinese show and want to see a great actor bringing out some world class acting, you don't want to miss it.

You'll NEED therapy after watching this
Dropped it because of spoilers and I'm not going to suffer on purpose.
Right party people, buckle in because this is going to be straightforward. Initially the main storyline is wonderfully written. If you binge watch it it's great but if you watch it on and off you realise the same stuff happens repeatedly so it does lose it's initial spark. I was obsessssssed with it until something happened and cough cough tore me in half, spat on my grave and removed my headstone so I decided to not torture myself anymore and stopped watching. If you get attached to characters DO NOT WATCH THIS. It is heartbreaking. Absolutely devastating. The male lead tantai jin deserves more than the world omg. His character development is just muah chef's kiss beautiful. Absolutely tragically beautiful. HOWEVER ye xiwu is the exact opposite. I had such high hopes for her at the start, she was emotionally intelligent, smart, straightforward, kind, a true woman. But she broke his heart over and over and over again (I physically cannot watch ep 26). It's brutal to watch this man purely love her and for her to just rip his heart to shreds. Her words are cruel and hit so hard and genuinely wondering if she wanted him to become a devil king considering her treatment towards him. She has no faith in him even though she was able to physically feel this man's heart and feelings. GIRLS LISTEN CAREFULLY NOW. If you hate the misunderstanding trope, the miscommunication trope, don't watch it. Save yourself the trouble. Just don't. I almost went bald with how frustrating it is to witness. If you enjoy watching sad stuff watch this. Be ready to pay for your therapy sessions.

repeat same mistakes and misunderstandings
No doubt, the FL and ML have irresistible chemistry and their acting is exceptional (esp ML). The costumes, settings, CG are all next level. This would be a GREAT series except for the ongoing, repetitive misunderstandings, jumping to the same conclusions, and being duped by the antagonists. In real life, if people are this oblivious, and subject to repeating the SAME mistakes over and over again, perhaps a series shouldn't be made about them. (especially when it dives into a past life where they observe themselves making these same mistakes and they have memory of it- but carry on making the same mistakes anyways). It would be great to watch characters who can learn, communicate, have insight, and grow. I gave it a 7 because I really did appreciate the acting and chemistry despite the script. The actors carried the series.
God I hate xianxia
Fantasy cdrama fans, xianxia fans especially, are incredibly entertaining to me.
The shows they watch are void of much quality or substance. As such, when a title offers them, something resembling an actual plot, they'll call it the next Citizen Kane.
As an Australian-born kid with a love for filmaking and animation, I had always preferred stories from Korea or Japan since they were more artistically daring than shows like these.
This is not a completely worthless show, not by any means, but I find it laughable how seriously it, and its fans, take its story. The characters are boring. Like really boring. The female lead has no personality and spits out lines that come out of a cliche book, or lines that needlessly explain the plot to the audience instead of trusting us to figure it out ourselves. A real waste of a great actress.
Everybody on this review list finds the bloody cliched as hell "demon king " (who has the most laughably bad design I've ever witnessed) as deep and layered when he's the worst example of a 'good person eventually fell to evil' I've ever seen.
Name literally any other empathetic fantasy villain and they do this trope a hundred times better. Loki from Marvel, John Silver in Disney's Treasure Planet, Zuko from Avatar The Last Airbender, literally ANYTHING (by the way, that last show especially is one that xianxia fans should definitely check out, you might judge it at first for being animated but I assure you it is written significantly better than what you are fans of).
This "demon king" or whatever his name is, has the most generic backstory I've ever seen. He's a weak man who was abused by his wife and the people around him (where have I seen this) who basically got consumed by a devil or smth and became super homicidal. But that's another thing, I'm not scared of the threat he poses whatsoever.
He's supposed to be this big threat who the female lead has to avoid letting become a genocidal maniac, but honestly who cares?
The stakes in this show basically want this guy to not destroy the whole world (whoopee), but why do I care about this world? You've given me max fifteen minutes of screen time to establish a half-cooked semi sci-fi world where Doctor Strange rip-off characters throw wierd golden light spells at each other like its The Owl House, but I don't care about anybody in this world since I've known them for thirty seconds before you decided to jump back in time. Why do I care if they die?
Also the plot of this show sounds like what my friend wrote when she was twelve for her creative writing assignment. It's set in a poorly conceived fantasy world where "immortals" are super-powerful video game beings and then there's just useless mortals. Gee I've never seen that concept done in any work of fiction made in China (Mirror- A tale of twin cities, Legend of Nine Tails Fox, The Taoism Grandmaster, The Legend of White Snake need I go on?).
The first episode makes damn sure that you know that by repeatedly telling you to your face through poorly written dialogue that mortals have no powers (yes these are lines that they say in the show) and that only immortals can stop the demon king. This opening episode especially is rushed as all hell and a CG abomination, setting up the story dreadfully.
The direction is terrible. Whoever directed this show apparently did not know how to not spend longer than three seconds on a single shot. The angles that they choose to film are hideous and the fight scenes are poorly choreographed in hindsight (watch an actual martial arts movie and see what I mean), and poorly shot.
The main message, that 'anyone can rise from the ashes and fight for good' is boring, cliched and generic. I've heard this told to me MULTIPLE TIMES by basically every fantasy story in existence I don't need to hear it again and especially not as the main message.
A waste of my time, and it'll be a waste of yours. Unless you're one of the starved aforementioned starved xianxia fans who are void of watching shows with any real quality, you will not find any entertainment value in this whatsoever.

TILL THE END OF THE MOON is AMAZING. I LOVE IT SO MUCH
I like so much for this drama! It's so beautiful, amazing, breaking heart story! Bay Lu is so beautiful talented actress! I really believe in you emotions. Luo Yun Xi is so gorgeous person also talented artist. I hope everyone who watch this drama to feel in love with me. Congratulations peferct cast with this super emotional and unreal breaking heart story! Every SOUNDTRACKS is so much beautiful, I love them all! I appreciate for this. They help to collect a picture in my head. Thanks for it. It was a lot of work and I want to wish success to the actors. I really love them. Now I waiting for the next episode.
Until the end of the moon! Now and forever!
Hello everybody!
I'm from Russia. I'm not a fan of this story, and I'm not a fan of the actors playing in it. I recently read a novella and recently started watching Till the end of the moon. Yes, the stories are different. But they're both beautiful. The work that people have invested in them is wonderful! Costumers, makeup artists, hairdressers, stylists, cameramen, set makers, actors, music authors, performers, visual effects specialists. I see how much effort and imagination these people have invested and I want to say - you are real professionals!
This is a very beautiful work. This is an aesthetic work, characterized by high picture quality and excellent visual effects. I review the footage and my eyes rejoice, my soul rejoices. I want to learn more about China, its history, culture, and its modern life. Isn't that the main thing? People who scold the series forget that Asian series are very popular in Russia now and China is already winning against Korea. Guys, you have raised the bar very high, so do not lower it with scandals and intrigues. I really hope that I can enjoy this beautiful story to the end. Until the end of the moon! Now and forever!

The best Chinese drama of the year.
I would highly recommend this drama. Ignore all the negative talks and ratings and check it out yourself. Some people are just haters, I am even surprised seeing 1/10 I guess that such people lack patience and have zero knowledge about xinxia dramas. The actors were great. I have watched all the episodes and I think Leo luo and Bai lu did a great job. The drama also invested on the supporting casts as they performed well they did not only invest on the main characters. I am happy that the drama has also been toping all the viewing chats and discussions. The love story in the drama is very interesting. I love how complicated it is.
