Been adapted into the US TV series Red Widow (2013) as well as the Swedish TV series Gåsmamman (2015).
Internationally titled "Black Widow", the original Dutch title is "Penoza". This is a non-existing word, meant to be a play on the word 'penoze', which is Dutch slang for an underworld figure; the -a at the end stresses that it concerns a female underworld figure.
There will be a Penoza film after the series end.
The announced fifth season will be the last.
