Featured review
Based on The Tragedy of Hamlet by William Shakespeare. Adapted by Nick Baldasare.
7th Symphony, 2nd Movement by Ludwig Von Beethoven is one of my favorites.
You can hear it again in the movie The Man from Earth (2007).
At the end of Hamlet tells Horatio again that he is dying, and urges his friend not to commit suicide in light of all the tragedies, but instead to stay alive and tell his story.
This is Horatio telling the story.
This is an excellent production starting at Nick Baldasare as many of the main characters. It helped immensely having Megan Grandstaff making faces as she played Ophelia. We get all the essence of Hamlet in a synoptic form.
A few Characters (including Rosencrantz and Guildenstern) are glaringly missing; no mention of Fortinbras. But the essence of Hamlet as seen by Horatio makes for a great presentation.
"And flights of angels sing the to thy rest."
"And let me speak to the yet unknowing world How these things came about..." - Horatio: Hamlet 5.2
Lots of well know and not so well-known background music is a character in its self.
