Movie is good enough to be watched in theater. There were couple of reviews which made have low expectation in watching the movie. But, the movie is good enough.
There might be part 2 of this movie. The movie shows plots of the Chief Minister of 1970s Devaraj Urs and Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Movie also shows some of the details of how inefficient administration back in those days made way for uprise of M. P. Jayaraj, a don of Bangalore. The names in the movie have been deferred to keep the identity of real rowdies and politicians undisclosed.
It's a good movie to watch with friends, and you can expect some good action and offensive language through out the movie, which would probably be censored on post theatrical release.

Agni Sridhar's book/story based Chaitanya's Aa Dinagalu and Sumana's Edegaarike were both extremely well written, directed, and acted. I was expecting something better or at least, equally good from Headbush since it's the genesis story- the birth of a very complex, grey, and bloody underworld in Bangalore. But I was greatly disappointed as Headbush felt like a run-of-the-mill, plebeian underworld movie.
Throughout the movie I could see the poor direction everywhere. Be it the flow of the story, the way the scenes are cut, dialogues, the way the characters act, the way they speak, they behave, their decisions, the protagonist's 'star' moments, the very obvious foreshadowing of a deception, the politicians' mannerisms, etc. Everything was naive and amateurish. The story of Urs, his attempts at solving caste/class struggle, Indira Brigade, the birth of Jayaraj... are all quite complex and nuanced. But in the hands of the current director, they look silly and blunt.
And that's just about the underworld of 70s and 80s. In addition, Agni Sridhar's interpretations should be presented with elegance, intelligence, poetry, and a touch of philosophy. That's what set his two previous movies apart from every gangster movie made in India. In Headbush, let alone the characters from or "caught" in the underworld, even the politicians at the top sound and look like cheap caricatures of an 80s cheesy cop movie. I hope Sridhar brings back someone like Chaitanya or Sumana Kittur for his next story and let go of the part-2 of Headbush.

The story tries to be a bestseller in today's industry and has multiple hyped up moments that make no sense from the story point of view.
The real life story is depicted well to a certain extent but the climax is not the end of the story. It leaves the characters at crossroads and there is no conclusion given.
Its an average watch with both acting and direction below par. The music and background track provides the sense of history and violence.
The story can be a bit more polished for the big screen. The overall story is good enough for a single time watch but there is a lot of disconnect in the movie itself.

Exposing the underbelly of Bengaluru, it has political elements of betrayal, friendship, and love written from various perspectives. But, unfortunately, it turns out to glorify Dhananjaya as Jayaraj, and several other characters remain as caricatures without flesh and blood. While the film fails to transport the audience to the '70s Bengaluru - the blame of which should go to the director, art director, and cinematographer - it is important to remember that this is only the first of two parts. If they right their wrongs from this film, Head Bush 2 might turn out to be as good as an Aa Dinagalu.

It's a good movie , it's has great acting by all actors, they have bring all underworld stories in a same way , the bad words are harsh but reasonable.
Dhananjay has a good comeback with is rowdy style And loose Mada, as Ganga also made a desperate comeback Vasishta and raghu done good acting.
Shruti harihran had done great acting , and had good comeback .
Payal rajput , man what an acting , good entry to sandalwood, Ravichandran cameo which was ok , but nothing for story And many actors like shoba raj , Prakash belwadi and many old actors has come through this movie .
Overall a good movie ,one time watchable.

Worst movie of the year. Black spot of kannada movies. Useless story and horrible direction. Only boasting of Don jayraj in turn boasting of daali Dhananjay. Don't waste your money for this piece of time waste. Meaningless sequence of songs. Amateur direction. One hour script has been dragged. If you are a doped fan idiot like few who bad mouth the real reviewer then this movie is made for you. Looks like Shruti hariharan has been given a role may be to satisfy some real anti social elements of the society. Anti social elements have been glorified as heros in this movie. Don't waste your hard earned money.

This film will surely linger in the minds of audiences for a very long time. The film does not have even a single boring moment. It strongly engages the attention of the audiences.
Movie recreates the period between 1974-78. The characters have come out very well on the screen. We can feel the breathings of Indira Gandhi , Barua and Devaraj Urs. M. D Nataraj, F M Khan and Guddu Rao walk and talk in front of us.
The rowdies of that era were presented realistically and honestly. They were brutal but emotional. They were strong but always attacks in groups.
This movie is based on a book written by a popular writer Agni Sreedhar. The name of the book itself is catchy: My Days In The Underworld. Agni Sreedhar just has not seen the underworld but participated in it. So he knew the characters he portrayed in his work very closely. So he knew what he was recording was totally authentic. Nobody has raised any questions on the authenticity of his work.
After tasting huge success in the literary world of Kannada language he shifted to cine medium. His previous films 'aa dinagalu' and 'edegarike' cult status internationally. And definitely this movie will add to that legacy.
The movie depicts he Bangalore city of that era and traces the raise and fall of 'Indira Brigade' organisation. It was a part of congress party. The top leader of that informs her subordinate leaders to create an organisation of tough youths to fight feudalism.
Devaraj Urs implements it in his state Karnataka. And nominates his son in law M D Nataraj as his states head. And he in turn selects M P Jayaraj as the head of Bangalore city.
M P Jayaraj started carrying out the ugly works instructed by MDN. And the group starts amassing huge wealth. And also becoming strong power centre of the congress party.
Tension stats when the right hand of M P Jayaraj , one Ganga pleads with Jayaraj to select his bother Venu to carry the image of goddess on his head during Karaganda festival. But the permission was not granted by the C M.
Ganga attacks Jayaraj during the festival. But Jayaraj survives. F M Khan sends Ganga out of Bangalore city.
Gang war erupts. Jayaraj gang attack each and every associate of Ganga to know the whereabouts of him. Police become mere onlookers in the happenings.
Opposition criticises congress government. C M was forced to change the commissioner of the city.
The stress affects the family relationship of Jayaraj. His wife makes one statement which was not there in the entire history of the underworld cinema: ' you and your opponents are all gaandus ( cowards).... not fighters or soldiers '. And she leaves him.
Ultimately Jayaraj attacks Ganga in the court hall in front of the judge.
And the opponents of the C M took the advantage and got the Indira brigade shelved. And backs one Kotwal Ramachandra to control the Bangalore underworld.
The movie maintains a healthy pace in the first half and achieves momentum in the second half.
Movie of sensitive nuances. And a treat to watch.

Movie may be good or bad. Hero of the Movie, Dhananjaya is not at all a good person. He keeps on hurting Hindu Sentiments. He doesn't know how to respect people and this country. I will never watch his movies even if he makes oscar winning ones, I don't want to support such hate spreading personalities. What you give to society matters alot.
I will never watch any of his movies in theatre. What he give is what he gets back, which is hate.
I never suggest his movies to anyone, anytime, anywhere.
Better watch KANTARA movie which is very nice which is running in all the theatres now. First become human being dhananjaya.

If it not for dhanajay this movie wouldn't have stayed one week in any theaters. Poor direction and unnecessary, irrelevant songs. Just to showcase rowdyism the movie was dragged otherwise it's just one liner movie. Really not sure why dhanjay and yogi produced/acted in this movie. Songs were below par but positive thing is the actors played in each role has given 100 percent effort.
Over all just giving negative vibe by abusing police, law, system and glorify violence on personal ego or agenda.
Expecting better from Dhanjaya atleast in upcoming movies such as rathna na prapancha, badava rascal, salaga etc.

The casting of this movie has some of the best talents of the industry. The characters assigned to the cast suits this genre because of their command on voice.
There is lot of action in the movie. There are many movies already made in this genre and this movie is a class apart because of the lit BGM and the performances.
Heroine Payal Rajput is looking good in the movie.
There is no reason to not like the movie if you like this genre.
There is 100percent chance that you will like even more if you are a Fan of our very own Nata Rakshasa - DALI DHANANJAY.
Final Comment : You will be entertained !!

When I watched the character started in Aa Dinagalu- Jayaraj was as strong as he was clearly depicted. I'm a big fan of Agni Shridhar and his directorial art of depicting Jayaraj. But when I watched Headbush, I clearly found myself being a fan of Dhananjaya for his clearly exotic acting. Nata Rakshasa-clearly defines his artistic brilliance in this mahagatha. Yogi shines as well in this biopisque-action based thriller of a film. Actor Dhananjaya surely deserves a tons of appreciation for this project. This movie definitely deserves a sequel. Excellent casting and exorberant cinematography. Keep going Sandalwood team to be a deserved Feather into Indian and World cinema.👍
